Interview with Drew Bledsoe
Came across this on the ESPN Pac-12 blog, some pretty funny quotes, and its good to hear that he's fired up about the direction of the program.
New Pac-12 Network Announcers Announced
Somehow I find Slick Rick's new gig both a total shocker, and completely predictable...
Conner Johnson - Preferred walk-on
Per Cougfan, University High quarterback Conner Johnson has agreed to a spot as a preferred walk on at WSU. The link is to his senior year highlight video. It seems odd to me that despite some impressive stats the kid doesn't have a single scholarship offer (not even from eastern), but I guess that's what being completely off the map during you're junior year can do. More info on his scout page Looks like a solid pickup for Leach with no strings attached.
Keidane McAlpine named new Head Coach of Women's Soccer
Previously an assistant coach with Auburn, here's hoping he McAlpine can continue our run of success.
OrangeBloods says OU ready to file
Personally, I think Scott should play hard ball. At least set the same stipulations as the SEC to wait until all the Big 12 schools agree to waive right to sue.
National Exposure - New Uniforms on Nike Facebook
There is no doubt in my mind that Bill Moos demanded this (however limited) professional photo shoot plus online exposure as part of the deal with Nike. No other team has any more than a single 3D rendering of their promo uniforms on the site. The messages tend to be pretty snide comments for the most part, usually related to our three year record, but there is no doubt that their comments are dripping with envy for our sick new threads.
One of the very cool things I noticed, was comments from recruits bragging about receiving an offer from us. Yes, BRAGGING. Bill Moos, you are a genius.
Congrats to the Eastern Eagles!

I think we all need to be proud of our neighbors to the north in Cheney Washington, for winning the FCS National Championship by defeating Delaware Friday night! The first 3 quarters were not pretty, the Eagles just couldn't seem to get any offense going, and the defense just couldn't seem to come up with a stop. but then, late in the third quarter, the Eagles came alive. with three straight touchdowns, EWU finally pulled ahead 20 to 19 with less than 3 minutes to go. Delaware began its final drive with a couple first downs but stalled at mid field as the defense stepped up one more time, sealing the deal. If your not satisfied with my "in depth recap" there, here is ESPN's.
Having attended Eastern for 2 years before transferring to WSU, this really meant a lot to me personally, but it really is a win for all of Washington. To bring home a national championship title to the area is a big deal, even if many of us consider the FCS to be vastly inferior, its still a big accomplishment. Congratulations Eastern!
As a side note, this is the program that Wulff spent 8 years engineering before jumping behind the wheel at his Alma mater. It would be hard to argue that he didn't have any impact on this program to get them to this point (having won several big sky championships during his tenure). Just making a point.
Once again, Congrats Eastern! and Go Eags!
WSU comes in at 6th most underrated team in the last decade
Using pure statistical analysis of pre and post season AP and coaches polls, these guys (using MATLAB coding, very familiar to anyone in the engineering department) have shown that Washington State, Oregon and Boise State are among the most under rated teams in Division I football, and Texas, Michigan and Florida State are some of the most overrated. And wouldn't you know it? The university of Washington slides in as the 11th most overrated team in the nation. Makes me feel all warm inside with righteous indignation

Butch and Jeff and the Cougs crunch the Beavers
A post from our peers over at Building the Dam. Because I just can't read enough about this game, and I'm sure you can't either
Cougfan Interviews Mizell
I can't wait to see this guy with pads on. Major kudos to Wulff and company for bringing him to Pullman.
Ted Miller's Best Case-Worse Case for WSU
No new information here, but its kind of interesting to keep up on what big name press thinks of our chances this year. I would be very glad to take his best case scenario.
Brian's edit: Bumped. Miller gives his dream/nightmare guesses and notes they aren't expectations. We'll be along shortly today with our expectations for the season.
