Tigers vs Volunteers coverage

*gasp for air*

Yeah I've been out of touch a bit. Unfortunately the nations fastest 3G service also has the smallest coverage area which means I'm currently working double time trying to get ready for an absolutely massive expansion project here in Tennessee.

However.

I have managed to secure my tickets for the Memphis game this weekend. And I have already arrived in Knoxville

I may try to scalp some tickets to the volleyball game if I can find out where it is, and thanks to Hooper I should have my parking situation dealt with tomorrow and not come back to a empty space as I did the last trip here :)

Otherwise tonight is wine women and song before we tear down Memphis tomorrow night! Hopefully I'll see ya'll there!

Unfortunately the Rocky Top Talk Gathering didn't go so hot. No one to blame. I got my truck towed because apparently the place I have parked for the last 3 years is now a pay parking place. And if you park there before anyone gets there to make you pay for a spot...they tow you. Yeah that was fun to discover after hiking from the stadium.

Had a great time, I'm debating if I should get tickets to this weekends game or not. I already have tickets to the Memphis game.

The only problem I have now is...finding another damn place to park!!!!

Ok folks, I'm heading to Knoxville in about 2 hours. Hopefully I'll get to see some ya'll there...

Rocky Top Talk Gathering: Finito!

Ok Folks,

Since the game is 48 hours way I figured I'd take the bull by the horns.

Before the game we can meet for the Vol Walk at Toyota Volunteer Village by the intersection for simplicities sake, if you like.

After the game figure we can meet at the bar at Calhouns On The River. First round is on me. No kidding.

From there who knows? But it should be fun either way.

Spotting some of us are easy. I'll be the short fat guy with a black cowboy hat and Longsleeve Tennessee button up. Depending on how many people show up I'll try to grab some of those "My name is" stickers and put our monikers on them.

Anyway should be a good game, wish us luck and of course GO VOLS!!!!!!

Rocky Top Talk Gathering? UGA at Tennessee

Ok we got sorta rambunctious on Saturday about the Tennessee Georgia game.

One thought led to another and we discussed meeting for Sympathy beers after the Georgia game. Either for them or us, either way.

So that thought led to another to another which led to this post.

We can meet before the game for the Vol walk, and after for cold frosty adult beverages and game commentary from however many vantage points we have.

If anyone would like to have a impromptu Rocky Top Talk gathering on Saturday for the Tennessee Georgia game, here's the spot to drop a line.

I'm going to see if i can get a Will Call ticket and will drive in from Nashville (where it looks like I will be for the next year) Saturday morning.

I only know a handful of joints around the campus, so if someone has a favorite place that they think would be cool for a bunch of die hard Vol Fans and semi-geek blogger/commenters to hang out fire away. Just leave the address so those of us with a GPS can find it :)

Might be fun, and for certain it can't hurt the team to have a bunch of Vol-hooligans cheering for them.

Even with my rampant bias against Crompton I will be yelling for him to complete every pass on this game. Being a native from north Georgia this game is sorta like civil war for me. The ribbing's I took for years for supporting the Vols versus the Dawgs? Damn right I want a win.

Anyway if anyones game, drop a line here. We have all week to get the fine details worked out. Suggestions welcome!

Aight now. Last year I attempted to make some video's. My poor old laptop of the time struggeled under the strain but hey they got made.

This year I have a new laptop. It may not struggle so bad. But lets face it, still pictures aren't as much fun as watching moving video. Unfortunately lacking a dedicated Internet connection (Hotels are notorious for knocking me off-line when i start doing major downloads), and not having access to a lot of really cool equipment via my laptop (it's hard to pack EVERY thing) I'm looking for 2 things

1 if you guys even want the video's again this year

2 If you do will you be willing to donate video clips

Ya'lls call. They are fun to make and I enjoy doing them, but i could use some help getting the clips. Thats it. No beg for moolah or any of that crapola.

I'm not Stephen Spielberg but I'll try to mix it up some more this year with more actual music versus Marching Band/Drum Line background.

Either way give me some feed back, sarcasm, etc. If you think their crappy video's, hell I knew that. :)

On the road again,

Greetings from on top of the world.

Yup, I knows it's been a while, but I've sorta been getting around since football season closed out.

I started out from right at the close of the football season and went to Dallas, TX. From Dallas I ended up In Kansas City, MO and then to Kansas City, KS. Don't ask it's a long story.

Then I went to Little Rock for a while.

And now I'm here.

Surrounded.

The cop who pulled me over on 280 raised his eyebrows and asked "How does a guy with Missouri plates, have Tennessee Volunteer stickers on his truck end up in Alabama?"

Actually what he said was, "Ow duz eh gi wid Misuri n playts, in does dadblamed lousy coon fearin yeller bellied orange luvin Tanacee stikemups inup in Halabama?"

I just grinned and asked if he was going to let me slide on the 60 in the 55.

I am in Birmingham. Well sort of. I'm between Birmingham and where the Tusks are Looser, or Tuscaloosa. Be here for at least another week or so, maybe 2, then I'm heading to Jackson TN for a unknwon period of time.

I've been following the Vols Football process and I still say the jury is out on Kiffin: Only because I haven't actually watched a Vol Game yet. Otherwise he has managed to stir up much adieu about nothing in less time than it takes to talk about by putting himself and the program right where it needs to be anyway: Front Page.

I'm staying tuned, and now that I've finally gotten a decent laptop again (my other one didn't make it. It jumped off a ledge and committed suicide after the whole Kiffin/Spurrier debacle. It was never big on soap operas) I'm hoping to be around a bit more.

In the meantime keep it real, and I'll try to help keep yer cellphones on for ya.

Thats a big Maybe for you Bama fans however :) I didn't get out of that dadblamed ticket either.

Yeah I know I've been remarkably absent. I've been traveling between Kansas City, Kansas, Little Rock Arkansas, and my home in Southwest Missouri back and forth repeatedly for the last 3 months, so my online has been practically nonexistent, even at my own site. But I thought some of ya'll might get a kick out of this. Peace! - BS

Do you like Penn State?

Do you like it enough to smell like Penn State?

Yeah, I said it.

A company called Masik has created a cologne that is supposed to .."capture the essence" of Penn State.

The company says the unique scents are based on "school colors, campus flowers and trees" and other features.

The company plans to make cologne for the University of North Carolina, and a number of other collegiate scents.

I wanna see them bottle Rocky Top.

Of course with the way our season has gone they may try to bottle Smokey. After a Knoxville rain.
