Time for the Burner to cool his jets.
I think the world of Michael Turner and want him to remain a Falcon for many more years. At the same time...

Michael Jenkins is a Top Ten WR
...in terms of Falcon career leaders.
Over the past 7 years MJ has compiled enough receptions, yards & TDs to rank as our 10th best WR ever. I know, I know...that is depressing and shows just how difficult it has been for the Falcons to draft and retain quality WRs. I also know we probably should draft a talented young WR to replace him, BUT let's at least give the man his due. Which is, he has accomplished as much or more than 200+ other WRs who have worn Black and Red over the past 40 years. At this point he is definitely one of the best #2 WRs the Falcons have ever had.

Marty Mornhinweg + Vince Young in Carolina
I know there's a lot of buzz about VY possibly ending up in Miami, but Carolina has to be taking a long hard look too...especially if they can hire Marty Mo as their next head coach.
Reason #1: Carolina can't draft Andrew Luck now and none of the other draft-able QB's are worth a #1 overall.
Reason #2: If they can hire Marty Mornhinweg as their next head coach he just might be able to help VY get things turned around a la Mike Vick.
Thoughts???
McAllister or Rolle?
The Baltimore Ravens have informed cornerback Samari Rolle that he will be released. Rolle, who was scheduled to make $4.1 million this season, had previously requested to be released. On Friday, Rolle was informed by the Ravens that he will be placed on waivers within the next few days.Injuries and age limit my interest in McAllister and Rolle, but I'd wouldn't mind signing one or the other to a reasonable contract for added depth. Considering their extensive experience, if they can return to health they would solidify a young secondary. Plus we could focus on a DT, LB & SS at the top of the draft.
Michael Clayton
Forget Pettigrew
Let's not waste our 1st pick on Pettigrew. Yes he's talented, BUT this year's draft is deep at the TE position. PLUS, if you exclude Tony Gonzalez, 1st round Tight Ends have historically had little more success in the NFL than 2nd and 3rd rounders. Consider the (incomplete) list below.
Matt Ryan's Career
Brooking/Lofton
Keith Brooking is an unselfish, under-appreciated STUD. He has sacrificed padding his personal stats by playing out of position for over half of his career because of his love and dedication to this team. I hope those traits rub off on the next generation of Falcon LBs. And I also hope Curtis Lofton will be the second-coming of Jessie Tuggle allowing Brooking to wreak some serious havoc on the outside before he retires.
Sam Baker
Some of my idiot friends are still complaining about our 1st rd draft picks. They're saying we should have waited to pick up a QB like Brian Brohm in the 2nd rd. They point out the fact that as late as January most draft experts still had Brohm rated as a top ten QB (some had him over Ryan). With that in mind I did a little homework and inadvertently found something worth noting. While Brohm definitely was considered a top ten QB in January, most experts also had Sam Baker rated in the top 15...some even had Baker in the top 10 in January! SUMMARY: For everyone (especially my idiot friends) who think Brohm dropped in the rankings due to over-analysis, why don't you give the same consideration to Sam Baker???
