Broncofreaks.com is reporting this:

Our source tells us the players involved are: Brady Quinn and Shaun Rogers for Jay Cutler and the Broncos 3rd round draft pick.

Don't know how I feel about this one. It's just Broncofreaks but holy crap. When did we become the Dallas Freaking Cowboys? Both sides need to take a glass of chill (Or in Cutler's case, Shut-the-heck-up) and work things out. It's hard for me to sympathize with Jay when his agent is being quoted everywhere and Cutler himself is going on Jim Rome. The Broncos are crazy not to entertain offers and Jay needs to be a big boy and accept the way things are in the NFL. Work it out over some International Foods coffee, hug, win Super Bowl. Enough of this!

Broncofreaks.com

Stefan Fatsis is a sportswriter for The Wall Street Journal and he apparently received permission from Bowlan and Shanahan to participate in the Broncos 2006 training camp in order to write a book about the experience. Fatsis was on the NPR radio show Talk of the Nation today to discuss his book and some of his experiences. It will be available to listen to on the internet later if you missed it. I found it very interesting and I'm looking forward to reading the book. Here's a link to the show and a brief excerpt from the book titled A Few Seconds of Panic.

The Players Have Given up? Why not? Shanahan Did.

Lost in all the hubub of how Shanahan was trying to shake things up by benching Plummer is this one, undeniable fact. Not one rookie quaterback has led his team to the Super Bowl...ever!

Marino didn't do it. Montana didn't do it. Unitas didn't do it. Elway didn't do it.

If Shanahan thought the season was worth salvaging, Plummer would still be the man. Plummer went toe to toe with Manning, led a touchdown drive to seal the victory in New England and swept the Raiders. He put 17 points on the Baltimore Ravens. Jake doesn't deserve this, he never did.

If the players have given up on this season, they aren't the first. Shanahan gave up the second he made the decision to bench Plummer and start the rookie.

One, undeniable fact: Number of rookie quarterbacks who have played in the Super Bowl? 0
