Blueshirt Banter Free Agents that could be a steal!

With the draft right around the corner, I was wondering who the Rangers are going to ignore and not bring in to actually benefit the team. We all knew that Prospal is going to want real money this season, and who can blame him he earned it.  Knowing Glenn will chase some free agents that will not perform in the spotlight. Prospal would be solid, but Tampa isn't paying him this season.Glenn might have to pay him.

Here are three reasonable free agents that could produce.GOD I WISH WE STILL HAD GOMEZ instead of DRURY.

1. Maxim Afinogenov.... Yeah he can produce when he's not the number 1. His got speed like few in the league. The downside is he can be Straka. He doesn't play both sides of the ice. Straka very rarely did, but he was able to hide and capitalize on opportunities Jagr set him up for. Gaborik could do this for him.

2.  Ray Whitney.... He's old, he's not going to put up 70 points and he not a physically big player. He does bring leadership, experience and can play on a powerplay. He is still flirting with 60 points a season, and he's an experienced winger who goes into the corner without hesitation.

3. Matt Cullen... Before anyone tells me to go F myself, just hear me out. The Matt Cullen experiment was short lived the first time around. I felt he was a solid center because he played hard game in and game out. He isn't excelling in points, we would be lucky to get 40 with him. But he is a much more skilled Blair Betts, and god knows we need a Betts on this team. Another side note is he always puts points up in the playoffs, well at least the first round of the playoffs. Plus I think he could be a solid pick up for cheap.

4. Anything from Detroit....I mean it...Even defense at this point....

I've been heavily drinking,  so i wrote this. Tell me what you think or who you think we should go for...remember I said reasonably priced.

Hogs Haven Authentic Jersey Question...

So over the weekend I was at the Fair Oaks Mall and stopped into the Redskins's Team Store. They have Authentic Campbell and Randel El Jerseys for $50 bucks.

I love to go to games and tailgate and I don't have money to throw away on jerseys on guys that might or might be here in a couple years,LIKE EVERY SINGLE RUNNINGBACK WE HAVE. I know both of these guys are gone, So if I total them, it was only fifty bucks. The only safe Jerseys to purchase are Cooley and Orakpo. So I sat there for a while contemplating purchasing a $280 dollar Jersey for $50 bucks.I have a white Taylor Authentic, but would you wear it to the game Tailgating and drinking beers? *I'm a damn Slob so the answer is no*. So then I was thinking I could change the Name Plate...

Long story short, I purchased it.

I wanted to know...Good Purchase or Bad Purchase...and if anyone knows where I can get a new name plate stitched on.lol. Either way, I now have a Burgundy Jersey!

Bolts From The Blue The Ultimate Tailgate...

As I sit at my apartment grading papers and patiently wait for my New York Giants parking pass to come in the mail, I cannot help but think of all the fun activities that await me in the parking lot of a sewer, if it were Next year it would be a really nice sewer. But that doesn't mean the smell of New Jersey will ruin my good time. I want to know what everyone thinks the Ultimate Tailgate food and Beer is. That is what I want to know! The best tailgate I did was Italy vs Ecuador in an International Friendly at the Meadow Lands. I am looking for some great Ideas! Here was the Menu...

Scallops wrapped in Bacon

Clams and melted Butter

Steak marinated in all sorts of goodness

Bubba Burgers

Chips and guacamole

the beer: Miller cans, bottles of Molson xxx (gotta love the Canadian in me) and Landshark

*this is the same for every Jimmy Buffett Concert!

Blueshirt Banter Softer then Clarkson after he's seen a lady....

Is it just me, or has the NHL gotten really soft! Recently I watched Stan Fischlers top rated tough guys in the league and I have to say, it left me thinking that I have fought with tougher women in line at the grocery store. I know Stan means well, and if they asked him to name some tough guys in what is now a soft NHL, he did what he was told. But to openly admit that any of these five guys could scare you if you were in a dark ally with them is absurd. I cannot begin to imagine the pain and frustration a man like stan, who knows hockey as well as he does, must have went through to come up with Hartnell and Clarkson as the top five tough guys. Did he throw this together over breakfast? I do appriciate the fact that Orr is not on there for throwing one punch three years ago.

I don't think today I could name five players that are good enough at shaking the gloves with anyone of the old NHL. But just for an interesting conversation, I wanted to see who cracks the top five of the bloggers here. Name your top five fighters of ALL TIME.

Here are my five, My favorite being Joey Kocur because of his size and his ability to wait out the fight for that great moment where he would break his knuckles on your face. God I miss real Hockey!

1. Bob Probert

2. Joey Kocur

3. Tony Twist

4. Tie Domi

5. Darren Langdon (because Im a rangers fan, so I had to have at least three on this list!)

Honorable Mention - Darcy Tucker- Because in all my life, I have never seen Darcy Tucker win a fight, but god bless him he was going to try every single game anyway. lol. He had the heart, but not the hands.
