Well friends I was digging around and found this article on deadspin. Not as funny as the burrows diving contest, but still had a few that gave me a chuckle.

St. Louis Game Time With the All-Star break upon us...

Well we're at the all star break. Kind of like the Olympics in that we wish real hockey was happening. Sure we get to watch the skills competition, but then is the annual How Many Players Can We Injure Game? (HMPCWEIG as we in the biz like to call it.) Anyway, with the break upon us I figured it would be a good time for this.

Poll
What do the Blues do to have a better second half?
Keep trying for the waiver wire

St. Louis Game Time East Vs. West.

So, I've been wondering this for a while. This should probably be a Tuesday post with Hildy (and it might have been done before. I don't remember. Don't judge me.) But we know there's like 3 Eastern teams that are normally good. But what if some superstars got traded....

Poll
Would eastern superstars be as good playing in the west?
Yes. They've got great skills and thats something that goes where ever you do.
5 votes
No. They would not be as dominant as they are in the east.

Fuck chicago and detroit. Although Crosby and Toews would make a cute couple.

St. Louis Game Time I thought we may all enjoy this.

Apparently the Canucks aren't too thrilled about Luongo any more either. Oh well. I still hate that guy too. Maybe we aren't too different from our backwards neighbors from the north. Oh and God willing the Canadians will be knocking off the Pens tonight, and the Sharks take out the Butthawks. (Yeah, I'm 8.) Anyway, enjoy the link.

St. Louis Game Time Open Letter to the NHL and refs

Mr. Bettman.

I have a simple question for you, What in the name of Davey Crocketts sweat-stained buck skins is the matter with the refs in this league? From the "intent to blow" rule to incident involving Auger (seriously, what the hell) to the horrible call that cost the Blues the game last night, your refs suck something fierce. Honestly, a player goes down, another player trips over him, and suddenly its a penalty? Not only is it a penalty, but its called by a ref who's a new guy that 120 FEET away from the play while a veteran ref lets it go?

Not trying to sound like a sore loser here, but honestly. You are losing ALL credibility of the league with these horrible calls. You've screwed the Blues over on enough calls don't you think? I know we're not in your precious Eastern Conference, but I think you should consider yourself lucky we aren't. In a conference where 56 points puts you in a playoff position, something is wrong.

After all when games are decided on the call of a referee, something is seriously wrong. How many more times does this need to happen before you get it through your thick skull that something is wrong? We know how much you love the Penguins, but lets at least make the games watchable and not so obviously slanted toward the teams you like.

We await your response you ignorant Jack Ass.

The Blues fans.

St. Louis Game Time MacInnis Curve

So this is an off subject question, with no real bearing on current Blues news, but I'm currently hunting for a hockey stick with a MacInnis curve on it. Or a player that uses a similar curve to his. Anyone know anyone that may fit that bill, or where I can get a MacInnis pattern? I know its about impossible to track down since he retired 5 years ago, but any help anyone can give is much appreciated. Heck, even if someone can get me the pattern( curve type, depth, lie, all that good stuff) it would be a great help.

St. Louis Game Time Bouwmeester

So, do you think that trying to get him would be a good deal. He's a free agent if I'm not mistaken. Do you think it would be worth trying to pursue him or should no? I would love to see them pick him up or even better, get him and try and dump McKee and or Woywitka. I'm not sure what his contract is or anything, so if anyone knows, feel free to fill in the details. I just think he would be a good addition to get some offense from the blue line.

St. Louis Game Time Well.....Now what?

So, we all know what has happened by now. I'm still a tinge upset, so I won't go into it, but our season is over.

So now what? Put in your self in managements position. Who do we keep? Who do we trade? What do we need? Who should we try and aquire? What roles or positions do we need to fill?

I'm interested to hear what the general populous has to say here. So go. Stop reading. Discuss.

St. Louis Game Time Overcoming Injuries

So having been surfing the net all morning, I find myself a bit disgusted here. I've been reading how all these teams that should have made the playoffs (i.e. Dallas, Colorado, etc.) didn't. That's not the part that upsets me. The thing that really is getting me riled here, is how all of them are using injuries as an exuse. Seeing what we've just pulled off here in St. Louis, I think this is BS.

How many of our top line guys were out for parts if not all the season. I don't remember the exact number here, but I think they said we lost 486 man games to injury. Now, maybe we just hit the untested player lottery here, but I think its more the attitude a team has.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that losing players isn't a big deal. We can all attest that it is. I think more to the point however, teams like the above mentioned should be looking at their bench. The attitude is critical. I can recall maybe 2 games this year when the Blues seemed to just give up. Furthermore, if injuries to one or two key guys derail your playoff hopes, it seems that the front office has failed to build a team that would have gotten far in the playoffs anyway.

I will be the first to admit I am biased, but we lost a LOT of our key guys and ended up in 6th. I think that has volumes more to say than I ever could.
