Blogging The Boys Glenn Update

Looks like Terry Glenn has finally reached an agreement with Jerry, but is still waiting to hear back from him.....The amount wasn't disclosed in the article.....The ball is now in Jerry's court, but I see no reason as to why the Boss would cut him now...The saga looks like its finally coming to an end and hopefully they will put all the disagreements behind them and the knee won't even be an issue this season.............................................

Blogging The Boys Wilson speaks out (Pats)

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3019472

Basically says what most on here are saying about there being a double standard with anything regarding the Patriots. Looks like Wilson is going to try and appeal the suspension.

The punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime and kind of reminds me of when the NBA suspended Dj Mbenga for I think 6 games for going into the stands to help calm a situation down if I remember correctly (he was also in street clothes and the suspension occurred during the playoffs) and earlier in that same season Antonio Davis rushed to the stands (while he was in the game) and only got 5 games.....doesn't seem quite right...

Lone Star Ball OT: Strange injury (stars related)

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/hockey/nhl/specials/playoffs/2007/04/13/stars.canucks.ap/index .html

In the notes section at the bottom of the article it says that Brent Sopel returned
after missing game 1 due to hurting his back picking up a cracker....I dont know if thats like a code name for something..but getting hurt reaching for a cracker is definately not very common......and you cant help but laugh...

Lone Star Ball Zambrano

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2763803

If he doesnt recieve a contract before the season starts hes ready to become a free agent after this season....considering the fact that Zito got 126 mil...Zambrano will recieve even more if he hits the open market....hes a great pitcher but from his quotes he has an over inflated view of himself....i mean who gives themselves a nickname??

Blogging The Boys Steve Hoffman

http://blog.dallascowboys.com/blogs/mickshots/archive/2007/1/9/329067.aspx

Does anyone think that we should go ahead and sign Hoffman back up?...it seemed like when he was here he could any kicker into a consistent one and since he has been gone our kickers have been a joke....i wouldn't mind resigning him to take over our special teams unit....

Blogging The Boys Solution to our problem??

Its obvious that our defense has struggled mightly in the past 5 games when trying to defend on third down....so i began to wonder what the big difference was between our nickel defense which comes in on third downs and our regular 3-4 scheme....although the whole scheme is different the only starter in the secondary that moves to a different position is Newman when he goes to cover the slot receiver....that usually leaves the other teams best receiver (probably tall) with Aaron Glen (our shortest) this is a clear advantage to the opposing teams and in the past 5 games teams began to take advantage of it.....In games where Newman was asked to shadow one receiver such as against Carolina, Indy, and Arizona our defense had better success on stopping opposing teams on third down....maybe we had better success because we had Ellis and a pass rush?? maybe not??.....why not just let Newman shadow Deion Branch instead of the slot receiver......

Blogging The Boys Playoff Seedings

Many figured that by losing the division that our path in the playoffs would be easier...we would go to Seattle who is also struggling and then travel to Chicago to face a team with basically no offense instead of having to play the giants who always give us trouble and then travel to new orleans to play the team that spanked us at home....however many people forget that in football the teams are re-seeded after every round...so if we were to beat seattle and the giants were to beat the eagles are they now ranked ahead of us? So they go on to play the saints and we play the bears or are we still ranked ahead of them and we go play the saints while they play the bears??

Lone Star Ball Zitos Meeting With The Mets

http://nysportsdog.blogspot.com/2006/12/mets-whispers-making-progress.html#links

Dont know how reliable that it is but that site is reporting that the Mets have raised their offer to just under 100 for 6 years....but they also say the deadlock is on that 6th year...if he does not sign with them tonight or tommorrow he will probably choose to sign with us......

Blogging The Boys OT: Wonderlic Scores

http://www.unc.edu/~mirabile/Wonderlic.htm........................having trouble with the link........ Somebody in another forum posted this and i thought it was pretty interesting.....according to the test we had the smartest quarterbacks in football in 2003 with Romo and Henson....I also find it pretty funny that Quincy also scored pretty well but always seems to be doing stupid things.....these scores dont mean much as proven so far by Vince Young but it still would be interesting to find out the scores of our other rookies and see if our front office tend to draft players with higher scores instead of talent??....just something to think about..... also alot of cowboy fans wanted us to draft either jason allen or ko simpson and their scores are 11 and 10 respectively.....stanley had an 8 and green got an 11.......
