IT'S OCTOBER!!!

The NHL Regular Season is upon us, and it's going to be really interesting to see how things pan out.

Things have changed since the season ended in June. The Sharks, for one, have made some surprising roster moves this past summer. DW definitely changed up his game plan and stepped it up when making his moves, and the Sharks (prior to the start of the season) seem to be a better team.

The NHL has also changed: gone is Colin Campbell, with Brendan Shanahan taking his place and already managing to do a much better job than Campbell did. The Thrashers have, sadly, moved to a new home in Winnipeg, where the new ownership seems to be doing pretty much exactly the same thing that was happening in Atlanta (which is not a good thing).

The off season had it's ups and downs. Teams changed, and teams moved. But there was also too much tragedy in the hockey world. Hopefully this new season will take people's minds off of that. It's just been way too long without hockey.

It is that time of year. When hockey seems to get even more important in our lives. When every win extra blissful, and every loss more stress inducing. It's when players give it their all, and refs blow it for them.

The regular season is all but irrelevant now. It's the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
