Seriously, this will be embarassing if he is not starting in the All-Star game played at his home ballpark. Besides, he is having a good year at the plate (3rd in MLB in OPS, 1st among all MLB OFs). If those opinions don't sway you, then consider this: if he is not starting we will be treated to the usual anti-Bonds, moralizing media bullshit (look his hometown fans don't even like him, he is a cheater!!!!!1)

Do your duty:

http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=sf

I don't even know where to begin with this garbage. Schilling is possibly the biggest moron in the game.

http://tinylink.com/?0AHdEVjJt6

There is some hope here. If the team can get some offense from Linden, and Winn bounces back to his career average, they may be alright.

http://tinylink.com/?Zu6vbu6dXO

Peter Gammons article about Bonds

Its ESPN insider:

http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=2748896&name=gammons_peter

If you can't access it, basically Gammons says it was a pragmatic decision by Magowan to keep him. He also calls out the rest of the media for their ridiculous moralizing about the steriod issue. The best part of the article is the news at the bottom about Mando. Apparently the Giants are going to see how his knee is in Spring Training but that "winter ball encouraged them that Brian Wilson can close" and its possible they may still trade Mando to the Marlins.

Please explain to me how this individual keeps her job as a journalist. Honestly I am at a loss. For the record Gwen, being slightly less concerned about steroid use by men who play games for a living is not the same as excusing O.J.

http://tinylink.com/?AKflvAVPX5

Miguel Cabrera

According to this link:
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2006/07/11/SPGL2JT3D81.DTL

Miguel Cabrera seems to like Felipe, enough to play for him even. My question is, which players/prospects would you be willing to give up? Assuming that the Marlin's are willing to change their longstated opinion of not dealing him.
