The conference's annual press extravaganza starts Monday. In addition to the always-colorful cast of head coaches, here's the athletes who will be talking to the mass of reporters

14 for '14: Arkansas Goes for Not Broke

The Razorbacks are going to have to upset someone if they're going to win an SEC game this year. Who might that team be?

14 for '14: Kentucky Faces One More Long Year

This team is a lot closer to the postseason than it was last year. It's still a pretty long way away, though

Wanna Write About the SEC? We Want You

If you want to share your thoughts about the SEC with the world, there's an opportunity

Star Wars: Retribution

This is awesome. It's hard to believe that Mark Richt condoned, much less took part in this, given all the injury potential involved and the Bulldogs' luck last year -- but we're glad he did. Kudos to Chris Conley for pulling it off. It's far better than, say, Transformers 4. And the best news is, it leaves room for a future sequel.

14 for '14: What is Kentucky's Experience Worth?

The Wildcats bring back a load of players from a team that went 2-10 last year and is in the middle of transitioning its offensive scheme. So how much good will that do them in 2014?

Are You Not Entertained? Vanderbilt Takes Game One

In one of the more entertaining College World Series games in a while, Vanderbilt barely held onto a lead and gave itself a crucial advantage in the national championship series

Steve Spurrier Doesn't Think Nick Saban Is Very Good

... if you wanted to, you can find faults with anybody if they don’t win them all. How many SECs has (Saban) won there in eight years? He’s won two. He’s won three nationals, but he’s only won two SECs in eight years. Now, if you had the No. 1 recruiting class every year and so forth, I don’t know if he has maxed out potentially as well as he could.

College World Series Preview: History and Stats

The first game might be crucial, so who will win it? And how much weight should we put into the fact that it's been 59 years since an ACC team won the title?

Did Nick Saban Give Jets Playbook to the Patriots?

It's worth noting before we get into the latest rather bizarre bit of gossip surrounding Nick Saban that the New England Patriots beat Mike Pettine regularly and badly when he was the defensive...

A Useful Reminder

There's been a lot of merriment from the Twitter community -- self included -- over some of the statements made by witnesses in the O'Bannon case. But it's worth keeping in mind that the lawsuit isn't playing out in the court of public opinion, and however absurd the statements might sound or not sound to us, it doesn't really matter. The only person who has to believe or not believe something is the judge; if she buys or doesn't buy what's being said, she'll rule accordingly. (And that will lay some of the groundwork for when the case is heard on appeal.) What's better for one side legally is often not what sounds best in the public arena.

14 for '14: Arkansas Makes Things Hard on Itself

The Hogs face an opening gauntlet in August and September, and it never really lets up from there
