I just love this picture.
Ken Macha is pissed.
The Brew Crew's GM, on what happened tonight: "I don’t know what’s going on there. Bob Watson ought to take a look at it. Braun hits a home run, they drill him. He hits a home run, his next at-bat they drill him...That’s evidence enough for me for some guys to get suspended for quite a bit."
Seriously, Ken?
Gonzo "proud" to be a Brave
mmmmm....so fuzzy
"After each walk, '(Kawakami) kept changing seats' in hopes of changing his luck."
That's pretty funny...I know I was bitin' my nails.
"I don’t think he realizes how good he can be."
TP seems to think Odarp may still not be tapping into his full potential...kind of scary to think what he may be capable of if TP's gut is right.
"His ball moves three feet and it’s 95 miles-an-hour, left-handed. It’s just something that guys don’t see."
O'Flaherty, on Venters' stuff. "We tell him, ‘Just throw strikes. Don’t even listen to any of this. Just throw your crap right down the middle.’"
New signee was Yunel's childhood friend
I think the fact that Yunel and Yasser are such good friends could have a lot to do with the way this signing pans out in the long term if Gomez makes it to the show.
"Football, it's an all-natural sport...You've got to let the animal inside you out."
Incoming freshman linebacker, Demetre Baker, tells David Hale he's ready to win a championship or go undefeated: "I've done it in junior high, I've done it in high school, and I want to do it in college," he says.
Mason bulking up, learning the playbook
Nice AJC article on what our recruit is up to right now. "Mason’s reaction to his mysterious depth chart ascension has been to pour himself into preparation," Chip Towers writes.
Ross: "Got to bring a lot more than that to hurt me."
"Every coach was dressed to the nines, including Pendleton in a lavender suit with a purple cap, purple shoes and a purple vest. Cox wore orange slacks with a jacket that featured wide orange-and-white pinstripes."
Cox says Hinske will get more playing time
After his success at the plate in today's win, it looks like we may be seeing Hinske in the outfield more often.
Kimbrel gets huge praise from Wags
Wagner thinks Kimbrel's stuff at this point is "better than most of the guys in our bullpen, and probably most of the guys in the big leagues."
Braves All-Decade Team
Pete Van Wieren, Mark Lemke and others come up with some surprising choices for their Braves all-decade team. Spoiler alert: a certain Atlanta native and former SI cover boy makes the list. "Rabble, rabble, rabble!"
McCann on Jesse Chavez: "one of the toughest guys I faced last year"
Bowman discusses "under the radar" players to watch in ST, including Chavez
"(Schafer) started hitting a couple weeks ago and is fired up about how good his wrist feels."
David O'Brien says Logan is doing a lot better. More info to come.
"It's a good thing. It's the right thing."
Glavine on returning to the Braves after retirement.
Team Speed Kills discusses UGA and the fate of the East in '10
TSK has some interesting and flattering things to say about Georgia for next year. I kind of needed this after earlier today.
"I just got a bad feeling from Tech. I didn't really like their coach. I never saw myself going to that rival school of Georgia. It'd be strange to be in that yellow."
Rennie Curran, on why he chose UGA over Tech
"I just want to laugh in their faces."
Schafer chomping at the bit
Another great article on Logan's injury and progress.
Ryan Howard sued by 12-year-old
Strange and interesting story of what happened to Howard's historic 200th homerun ball.
"I still have a long way to go, but three years ago, when I first went out there, I didn't have a clue as to what I was doing. I was lost. Now I feel like I can hold my own, even though I still have a lot of work to do." -Cody Johnson
"We’ve got our eyes toward next year and the year after, and whatever comes this year is gravy." - Chipper Jones
Mike Luckovich's cartoon from today's AJC
"Obviously when you see another guy playing the position you were playing, it’s a blow, but at the same time, they gave me two months. They gave me a fair shot. I’m thankful to [manager] Bobby [Cox] and TP [hitting coach Terry Pendleton] and [general manager] Frank [Wren] for giving me that much time to try to figure it out. I can’t blame anybody but myself. It’s nice to hear the Braves reassure me, that if I just go down, relax and figure things out, I’ll be back."

Ross, others voice frustration over tonight's loss
In addition to being a solid backup for Mac, I think it's great that Ross already seems to be highly emotionally invested in this team.
