I loved this media day portrait of George Karl so much, just had to do something with it. Via Bread City.

Yes, Charles Oakley has an internet cooking show! This guy seriously has the whole world on LOCK: basketball, car washing, being Michael Jordan's friend, cooking, flirting, and casual freestyling. What else is there?

Best basketball-related line of the trailer: "Knicks got problems. They need a pep talk, AND a whooping." John Starks saying the food needs more salt comes in at a close second. I love this game!

The link above is to the "trailer" on youtube, and this link here is to the site with the full episodes.

(Ed. note: Who said P&T ain't artsy? How Jake did this, I don't know, but I'm sure Duds would appreciate it. Check out Bread City for more. Perhaps we should have a P&T arts expo in the near future?)

Obviously, he anticipated being injured throughout his career and wanted to look fly on the bench. The investment is just starting to pay off.

Vaguely Knicks-related philosophical question

I've had a checking account at Commerce Bank since 2006. In October it was bought by TD Bank and changed names, but everything else stayed the same so I didn't care. (I really liked Commerce Bank for their free checking, coin counting machine, and pens.) It wasn't until mid-November, when my neighborhood Commerce Bank changed its blue and red sign to TD Bank's green and white one, that all the pieces fell together: TD Bank...green...TD BankNorth Garden...Boston Celtics. Oh...no.

I felt doubly betrayed. Not only do I hate Boston and all its sports teams, I am philosophically opposed stadium naming. I know sports is business, but I don't think business has to stick its grubby fingers into every aspect of the game. Did I mention I hate Boston teams?

Here then, is my question: do I change banks in protest, or does this cross the basketball nerd line in some definitive way? Should I just steal a lot of those pens, or something? What do you think? Does anyone know of equal banks in NYC for people with no money?

Knicks source says team is hesitant to complete the Randolph/Mobley deal because of concerns about Cuttino's heart. And it's a race against time. New York has until 6:30 PM today to complete the deal, or the whole thing is off!

Probably not. But what's really interesting is that the first commenter on the Dallas News Mavericks' blog claims to be Starbury himself. History has shown that Steph isn't above defending his honor on the internets. Am I crazy to think this might actually be him?
