Celtics open practice
Hi guys,
I have a quick question. I have an opportunity to go to the Celtics open practice tomorrow via having a friend of a friend who is a season ticket holder. Does anyone know what this event entail, when it starts, ect. I'm a poor college student who can't afford real tickets and would love the opportunity to get a look at the Celts (and take a break form studying for finals)
Any info that you could share would be much appreciated.
Thanks
This is how it's going down....
Danny's not trying to lure in CP3 to attract Dwight Howard nor was he talking to the Pacers because they were asking about Rondo. He's luring in D12 to attract CP3.
Larry's heading to Denver as we speak, to sign Nene, when he does he'll partake in a three team trade including the Celtics and Magic.
Indiana receives Ray Allen JJ Redick Bostons #1 (2012)
Orlando receives Rajon Rondo Avery Bradley Roy Hibbert Bostons #1 pick (from clippers)
Boston receives Dwight Howard
Now Danny has the big man the coach and the cap room to reel in Chris Paul

It's nice to dream I suppose
Okur anyone???
So I'm sitting at home thinking of who we could land with Sheeds contract and came up with this.
Mehmet Okur for Sheed & Baby.
The numbers match up. Im thinking Utah may be hessitant, but they might want cap relief. I'm sure they would prefer Perk, but he's injured. Maybe we throw in a pick to sweeten the deal.
Again, I dont think Utah goes for it, but from a Boston perspective would you pull the trigger on this?
Death of the Pink-Hats?!?
I don't post much be here's my thoughts. I don't care what happens tonight! Why, you ask. I'll tell you why. It's because i'm a true Celtics fan, that's why. The decline of the original Big 3 didn't make me leave this team during the bad years and the recently constructed Big 3 didn't bring me back. I never left, I never will. I'm in a minority, but not alone.
True fans mourned Reggie Lewis, thought Dee Brown was gonna be the next great Celtic, cried when we missed out on Tim Duncan, and cried again when we lost our shot at Kevin Durant. We can tell you about the historic playoff comeback vs. the Nets, dance the Walker Wiggle, and practiced the Sherman Douglas floater at the playground. We remained loyal followers through the eras of Wilkins, Fox, Mercer, Radja, Walker, Montross, Battie and Bagley. We thought Jefferson, Telfair, & Green would lead us to the promise land one day.
We maintain that our beloved franchise is richer in history than any other sports franchise in the world. We are Gaurdians of Celtic mystique, who accepted the "conditional" fans and pink hats during this amazing stretch the past three years. But who will love this team when the final buzzer sounds tonight? In victory or defeat? Who left this team mid-season when things wernt going well? Who came back last month?
This goes out to those who are true fans of the Green, enjoy this moment were in. I spent my childhood at the park playing with my friend imagining it's game 7 of the finals vs. the Lakers, watching video from the 60's & 80's and dreaming to experience this as an adult.
Now here we are, the final round of an epic battle where everything is on the line!!! To the "pseudo-fans" I'll see you next time there's a Celtics bandwagon. To the true fans who share the same passion, I say it's been a great run, and I'll be with y'all till the very end. Now let's go get this banner!!! Beat LA
Celtics & Free Agency (Cap experts chime in)
Sorry if there is another thread like this......
I'm not sure we can do anything this off-season but does anyone recall Wyc on Weei earlier this year stating that the Celtics would be able to offer a max contract this summer? To my understanding we only have 5 players under contract next year(if pierce opts out and/or restructures). Of those 5 remaining contracts only KG's is substantial, and I may be way off but I think there is a chance Sheed hangs em' up if we don't advance past Cleveland (I still think we can).
Anyway, can somebody explain financially what are best & worst case scenarios are for the Celtics? It seems as if we have a front office that would like to stay competitive even if tough decisions need to be made, and there are some intriguing possibilities out there. Obviously I have no illusions of Queen James in Celtic green, and after seeing OKC in the playoffs I don't think Durant will sign elsewhere when his rookie contracts up.
With Rondo's emergence as a top talent in the NBA at any position, I would imagine that Danny & Co. would want to pair him with a younger star to take us into the next era. And why wouldn't a player like Dirk or Amare not want to play the pick and pop/roll game with Rondo? I couldn't imagine Danny thinking keeping the core together is whats best for the team. I think the window is still open but it's closing and extending Ray & Paul to sizable contracts lasting more than two years tops could be damaging.
That being said what realistic expectations can we have this offseason?
