"Just to get back on the field again," he said when asked about his emotions on the break. "Just because I feel so unsatisfied still at this point with what we've accomplished now."

Canal Street Chronicles Let the new season begin.

Just a few reasons/ thoughts to be pumped for...

Despite Greer, Porter, & Sharper missing significant time, secondary has played tremendous, as noted yesterday in a FanShot, # 1 against the pass in the league.  Not to mention the siginicant time the younger backups rec'vd which will pay dividends when they are called upon.

With a healthy secondary, Williams should feel more confident dialing up the pressure, which in turn will force the takeaways we became accustom to last year.

Bush will return next game.  The attention he draws from the defense can't be understated.  I think his underneath routes/ screens go a long way to opening up the vertical passing opportunities.

I'd expect PT to come back with a little chip on his shoulder when healthy, hopefully soon.

Jimmy Graham, what's not to get excited about with his potential?

A healthy Lance Moore, who was missing for the majority of last season's run, just simply a reliable target for Brees.

Would love to see the O-line take on the attitude of that 2nd half vs Minnesota.

Super Bowl hangover is gone, Saints are back, travelling down to be in attendance next game, can't wait, extremely optimistic/ ready for the 2nd half of this season to begin!

Canal Street Chronicles Odds at 6-1?

As we slowly forget Sunday's painful loss, who really believes we will be 6-1 heading into the showdown with Pittsburgh on 10/31?

Carolina (H) - Just don't see any way shape or form this one turns out an L after last week's loss.

Arizona (A) - If Gradkowski and the Raiders hang 23 on them at Arizona and should have won the game, don't see any reason to believe Brees will not guide a 30+ effort on them.  Also, Anderson and his 67.6 QB rating don't scare me that much.

Tampa (A) - Yes, Tampa is improved, but not buying the fact that they will contend for the division.  Too young still, and just hope after the 2 games above the offense will be clicking and hit their stride here.

Cleveland (H) - If all goes well 5-1 heading into this game, the Dome will be nuts, Cleveland will be a little over their heads here trying to come in and steal a victory on the road.  Saints don't get caught looking ahead and take care of business.

Another point, Brees vs all the QBs for these 4, it really is no comparison.  So I am in the boat that this past game will be a wakeup call and we'll be looking at 6-1 vs the Steelers at home, with Reggie making his return on primetime, looking to pick up on what I believe he felt was going to be one of his greatest years to date.

And maybe Chris Ivory turns into Mike Bell from last year in the meantime.

"I feel great. This is definitely the best I've felt since the beginning of the season," Moore said. "I'm definitely excited about the gameplan."

Canal Street Chronicles Perfect Scenario

An embarrassed Packers team w/ something to prove get back to the friendly confines of Lambeau Field and beat the Panthers, who are 2-3 on the road.

In a must win game at home to keep their hopes alive, the Chargers snap a 2-game slide to beat the Falcons, who are also 2-3 on the road.

Saints beat Bucs.

Bucs          8-4    (2-2)
Panthers   8-4    (2-2)
Saints        7-5    (2-2)
Falcons     7-5    (2-3)

(Following week, Bucs at Panthers, Falcons at Saints)

How likely is this to unfold next weekend?

Canal Street Chronicles Shockey

Watching him on the sidelines, he seems to be very positive and into the game,  if you noticed him right behind Coach at the end of the half lobbying for one more second on the clock with refs, just seems to have a great attitude, I really think he is going to have a great remainder of the season when he returns, not to mention the difference he will make for others (especially Bush) by drawing some more attention in coverage

Canal Street Chronicles Moving On..

You can sit here and credit any # of reasons for this devestating loss, but after sulking all day, let's take a look ahead..

Oakland (Don't forsee any problem here)

Carolina ? (HUGE GAME)

SD (Last ranked pass D)

BYE

Atlanta (22nd ranked pass D)

Chiefs  (Don't forsee any problem here)

I think this loss provides motivation in the coming weeks..

-The D stuffed the run vs one of the best rushing attacks in the league last night, which gives reason to believe that they will be able to do the same versus SD & ATL

-Shockey's return for Carolina, Colston for SD, and an offense that you would expect better execution out of as I am sure there will be tremendous attention to detail in the next 2 weeks of practice

Like someone on here said before, atleast these tough losses came early, and hopefully will spark this team, which I think will come together after this tough tough loss.. Anyone else feel 7-3 heading into the next Monday Nighter versus GB is a possibilty and we're listening to Kornheiser as annoying as he is praising the run the Saints put together?

Canal Street Chronicles MNF

What do you think the offense will need to score to put this game out of reach?  I personally don't think Minnesota's offense can keep the pace.  The only way I see Minnesota putting up enough points to win is through turnovers leading to easy scores, which I highly doubt will happen at the level Brees is playing at.

W/ the crowd behind the D on MNF, McKenzie getting more comfortable off the injury, Porter improving week to week, the D line getting pressure on the immobile Ferrotte, stop the run (easier said than done) and Saints win easy.

31-17 (Again).

Also, quick question.  Attended my 1st home game in the Superdome last week, what is the name of the song they played after a TD? Thanks.
