for making the All Star Team, maybe we can get another guy in with the last spot voted in by the fans(Damon, Coke, Burnett?) but to tell you the truth some players that got snubbed big time that deserve the spot are players such as Dye, Pena, Inge, Markakis, Byrd, (Juan)Rivera, Lester(well maybe not, the Sux already have SIX players :/), and Porcello

speaking of the AL All-Star selections all were pretty good except for a few such as the 4.30 ERA Wakefield and the hurt all effing year Hamilton but hey i think the AL has a pretty decent squad

oh and for the NL try to vote in Pablo Sandoval on the San Francisco Giants, that kid is unbelievable, second in the NL in BA yet they did not take him...make it so guys!

Pat White drafted by New York Yankees

http://blogs.nypost.com/sports/minor_leagues/archives/2009/06/yankees_draft_w.html

With their pick in the 48th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, the Yankees New York Yankees New York Yankees selected a name familiar to college football fans around the country, former All-American and West Virginia quarterback Pat White.

White, the only quarterback to win four bowl games as a starter and who rushed for more yards than any quarterback in NCAA Division I history, has been drafted to play baseball four times: in the fourth round out of high school by the Los Angeles Angels, when he chose to play football at West Virginia instead; again by the Angels, in the 24th round in 2007; and in the seventh round by the Cincinnati Reds last year.

It seems unlikely the Yankees would be able to convince White to sign with them without a large bonus. White was selected in the second round by the Miami Dolphins in April's NFL Draft.

White was drafted as an outfielder; he also pitched in high school. He did not play baseball for the Mountaineers.

i laughed when i saw this

hopefully he chooses to stay with the Dolphins instead lololololololol

for some reason or another throughout this busy offseason with our incredible free agent signings and draft i was unaware of what other teams were doing

maybe i was too busy with the start of baseball and the playoffs in hockey and basketball but today i just found out that Plaxico Burress who i remember being cut is still a free agent

soooooooooooo what are we waiting for

why all the talk about trading for Boldin when an ELITE receiver is there for the taking?

don't get me wrong, i love our receiving corps and i think Ginn, Bess, Camarillo, London, and Turner will amount to great things this season

but when a talent like Burress is available for just cash money and the salary cap expanding i think that we should be all over this

your thoughts?

Free agent wish list

Before i start rambling i want to acknowledge that there won't be a lot of cap space for the Sharks this summer.

But that doesn't mean that after re-signing a player or two(such as Clowe, Mitchell, or Moen) and after the salaries are raised for our young defensemen(Murray, Ehrhoff, Vlasic) that we won't have some money left to bring in a free agent or two.

So i want to rostercourse with some of you and see what you guys think of good potential fits for the San Jose Sharks.

Free agents that intrigue me include:

Daniel Sedin(LW)

Henrik Sedin(C)

Jay Bouwmeester(D)

Mike Cammalleri(C)

Marion Gaborik(RW)

Scott Neidermeyer(yeah i know, but still)(D)

Martin Havlat(RW)

Alex Tanguay(LW)

Erik Cole(LW)

All the players i mentioned above are relatively young except for Neidermeyer because i would prefer the Sharks invest in younger players who are entering or are in their prime.

Thoughts?

how will our lines shape up for the playoffs?

i was thinking something like this:

1.Marleau-Thornton-Clowe

2.Michalek-Pavelski-Setoguchi

3.Grier-Goc-Cheechoo

4.Shelley-Mitchell-Moen

D1-Boyle-Lukowich

D2-Blake-Vlasic

D3-Ehrhoff-Murray

G-Nabs, Bouchier

and while i was thinking about this i realized that Roenick, Lemeiux, Huskins, Plihal, McGinn, Semenov, and Staubitz didn't have a spot

but the reason we brought Lemeuix and Huskins was FOR the playoffs, and Roenick plays well in the playoffs too...Sooooooooooooo what will our roster end up looking like???
