Insert Mock Draft Here
Ok, so I'm not really doing a mock draft, just giving my general opinion about what a draft strategy should look like for our beloved Broncos. I don't have any inspiring life story to share, and I'm not quite witty enough to lace this commentary with hilarious jokes. (Sorry!) So this is going to be fairly short, sweet and pointed.

Why Marty Schottenheimer is the right choice for HC
I know everybody has their opinion on who the next HC should be, and I certainly can't claim to be any type of a football expert. However, I CAN count reasonably well. I can count up W's, and I can count up L's.
This crazy concept of counting is the reason I think Marty Schottenheimer is a great choice for our next HC.
Just a thought
Ok, so we're all talking about how Gary Kubiak is a possibility for our next HC position, right? And we're all also talking about how Bowlen is going to have to pay 3 head coaches next year, right?
So answer me this. Isn't Kubiak under contract with Houston through next year at least? (I don't know, somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.)
If he is, and we hire him after he's fired by the Texans this year, doesn't that mean THEY get to pay him to coach in Denver?? So we would basically only be paying McD & Shanahan next year, like we would be doing anyway?
Just curious.
I Hate You, Mile High Report.
I wish I had a gentler, more sensitive way to put this, but there's just no way around it.
I hate you, Mile High Report.
Why? Because you have RUINED my life!! I am so totally addicted. I hate you the way an alcoholic hates that next beer. I hate you the way a drug user hates that next hit. I am using you, Mile High Report, an average of once every 10 minutes AT LEAST, all day.

Kirk Morrison, anybody?
According to Pork Chop:
"Don’t be surprised if Oakland sends middle linebacker Kirk Morrison packing soon as a result of its terrific selection of Alabama’s Rolando McClain at No. 8. Oakland coach Tom Cable said Morrison is now "depth." However, he is due to make more than $2 million this year. Unless Morrison takes a big paycut, I could see the team parting ways with him.'
Maybe Wink wouldn't mind adding Morrison to an area of need for us (ILB)?? Hasn't Morrison been pretty solid for a few years now?
Clark Judge sees the light!
In his Peak at the Week article, Clark Judge offers some interesting insight into this week's upcoming game. Nothing earth-shattering, but he does pick the Broncos to win, based off of basically the same things we've been saying all season.

If I were the head coach...
This is just going to be a quick fanpost, so don't worry about having to read a novel. I've just been a little frustrated about a few things I've seen recently, and I thought I'd share my opinion.

Which Bronco is the Biggest Madden 10 Snub?
I've been playing the new Madden a LOT for the past few days (the wife & kids are outta town) and I can't believe how low they have several Broncos rated. See the ratings here if you want. So basically, I just thought I'd see who you guys think they missed by the largest margin! I know who I think, so here are my five biggest slights in ascending order of my pissed-off-edness:
5 - Kyle Orton, with a 74 Rating. For comparison's sake, Josh Freeman (the rookie) has a 73 rating, and the immortal JaMarcus Russell has a 75. I would think his winning record, NFL experience, and positive touchdown to interception ratio would give him SOME sort of an edge over this 'elite' company, but what do I know...
4 - Eddie Royal, with an 82 Rating. For Comparison's sake, Brandon Marshall has a 92 (anybody think he's that much better than Royal?) and Bernard Berrian came in with the same rating at an 82. Anybody else here think Berrian for Royal would be a fair trade? Me neither.
3 - Andre Goodman, with a 76 Rating. For comparison's sake, Dominique Foxworth got an 82. That's no knock on Foxworth, but I think he'd be fighting for the 4th CB spot on our team right now.
2 - Ryan Clady, with an 88 Rating. I DARE you to find the left tackle that outperformed Clady in 2008. You won't. Some other tackles rated higher than Clady include Jordan Gross (95), Joe Thomas (97), Jake Long (91), Brian McKinnie (90), Matt Light (92), etc etc. A GROSS injustice. Clady outperformed every single one of those linemen. Period.
1 - RYAN HARRIS, WITH A RATING OF 73!!!!! I mean, SERIOUSLY??? Can you find 4 better Right Tackles in the game? 'Cause I can't think of any. Levi Brown from Arizona got an 81. Stacy Andrews from Philly got an 87. Willie Colon from Pittsburgh got a 78. You know what the sad thing is? His BACKUP, Trai Essex, got a 71!!!!! I mean, REALLY???
Anyway, I'm done being pissed off about it. It's time to go home from work. Post below & see who you think the biggest snubs are after checking the link out here, if you're interested.
McDaniels in Spotlight
Apparently Don Banks was in attendance at the Broncos Facility for their last practice. A mixed bag, but he doesn't seem to be as down on them as some others have.
Things to Worry About (An Optimist's View)
Ok guys, it's Saturday, and work is slow, so I'm writing again. I've been thinking quite a bit about this upcoming season. Unfortunately, I live far from Denver, so I don't get to personally view practices to form my opinions about our team; I have to rely on other people's reports, and try as best as I can to form my opinions from there.
As a few of you may know, I drink a LITTLE bit of the orange and blue kool-aid...I am an eternal optimist. I believe wholeheartedly in self-fulfilling prophecies; that expecting success generates success. I like the fact that Coach McDaniels seems to expect the best from his team, and has put together a high character group. However, I do have some concerns.

BEAT IT, DOUBTERS!!!
As my siggy suggests, I am NUTS for the Broncos. I have lurked on this website since just before the 2006 Draft, and this is my first post. I'm not really the posting type; I have too much on my plate, but I just needed to get something off my chest.
First, a little background after the jump.
