Yea, I saw it last night too, entertaining but not all that plausable. Still, I enjoyed it.
Commented on Horse Tracks: The Broncos are interested in Ryan Shazier? on Apr 19 2014, 12:00p
I'd be plumb tickled if our 1st two picks were Schazier and Richburg as both appear to have that elite/impact potential that I'm craving this season.

That was supposed to be "come play-off time". Missed the edit deadline.

Midgets likely applies to other parts of their anatomy as well. Come play-time they always come up short. Puns intended.

Sounds kinda kinky?!

I agree re Man Ram but we may have the opportunity to acquire one of those "impact" or elite centers, which I'm coming to believe is one of Elway's core tenents.
Commented on Peyton Manning and Adam Gase meet with Nick Saban...a CBA violation? on Apr 18 2014, 8:39p
I'm replying to both of you really. Baptiste intrigues due to the impression that he physically "jumps" off the video in the high-lights I've seen. And, unless we trade for next years picks it seems wasted to acquire more in this particular year.

I tend to lean towards the latter but that, again, speaks to coaching. A fundamental and well disciplined team is the hall-mark of good coaching. Questions lurk.

If we end up trading back in the 1st giving us two picks in the 2nd I expect to see a Center as one of the picks.

I just read an article saying QB's were falling out of the top 10 in this draft. If so, your scenario could come to pass.

On that basis it would be fun for nearly everybody to draft Manziel, except us ;O)

I see the Texans picking a QB but not Manziel.

Slightly more acceptable if it's American beer, especially Coors Lite being a Colorado loyalist.
Commented on Denver Broncos players voluntarily working their butts off for playing time - Horse Tracks on Apr 16 2014, 11:40a
Seems like solid reasoning. Although, both Martin of S Cal and Westburg of CSU are rated higher and could fall to us in the 2nd or even 3rd.

My "personal" picture, which wasn't described in advance would be a preference for trading up in the 2nd round rather than the 1st. I can't see us trading up in the 3rd for the purposes I described above.

Clady and Vasquez are elite level OL which I might term as in the top 3-4 at their position. ManRam and Franklin are above average but may benefit from Manning's quick release more than the others.

Yes, to your entire post. We might add he's the type of player that fires up his teammates with those big plays. Some players spark momentum. Others ignite it. Shazier strikes me as the latter.
Commented on 2014 NFL Draft: Scouting Ryan Shazier, Ohio St. Linebacker on Apr 12 2014, 10:38p
I hear what you're saying but wonder if this draft isn't going to be more system and player specific, meaning I could see teams wanting to trade up in both the 1st and 2nd for "the guy".
Commented on 2014 NFL Draft: Scouting Ryan Shazier, Ohio St. Linebacker on Apr 12 2014, 6:55p
In regard to Shazier and possibly Mosley it isn't just that they would be on the field for 90% of the snaps. It's the player who produces a game changing play time after time and at a critical times that define "impact" player for me.

It seems more likely we'll trade back in the 2nd or 3rd round rather than the 1st. If the right player is available I could see us trading up in the 1st or 2nd.

Good to hear. That's more workable IMO. The less years the easier to buy him out if needed. Actually, he's got personnel to win a SB. Let's hope he "steps up" to match Elway's efforts.
