One Bronco Nation Under God A typical Anti-Boise, Pro-BCS argument...time for Bronco Nation to tell them how it is!

A buddy of mine sent me a facebook message, with a typical anti-boise, pro BCS conference ring to it. I read it the first time and my first reaction, confusion. Not only are the facts wrong, reading through it and upon further review, a light bulb goes on in my head. Is this really what people think? I will copy and paste his argument and my response. Feel free to chime in with points I missed, or things that I may have gotten wrong or overlooked (I was writing in kind of a frenzy).

Go Orange Go Big Blue!

His arguemnt in bold.

You do realize that the WAC's opponents last week are 3-21 this year against FBS opponents, including last weeks games. And 1 of those wins was an FCS team beating San Jose State. The other two wins were against Washington and New Mexico. New Mexico is 0-5 and has been outscored by 201 points.
On the other hand, the SEC's opponents are 18-4 this year against FBS opponents, including last weeks games. Lets just not crown Boise State champion just yet.
After saying all that, yes Boise probably could beat every team in the country in a one game show off (Alabama would be hard fought with a Boise win 38% of the time if they played 100 games, Boise win at least 50% vs. every other team); But the question is would Boise go through the SEC with only 1 loss or less.
If Boise played 8 games in a row with 3 against ranked teams, 3 of the 8 being played after an opponents bye week, take off a week and then play 4 more games, one against a ranked opponent, with 3 of those teams having a bye week, without losing more than once.

I see what point you are trying to make, but I don't think you can make it. The 3-21 number I am confused about. I can name of the top of my head WAC opponents who have at least 2 wins each. I know VT who played a WAC oppenent (Boise) has 2 wins, over Boston College, and a ranked NC State team, at NC State. I also know that Oregon State who played Boise, and this week beat a very good Arizona State team. I also know that last week Washington Beat USC AT USC. So there is 3 wins right there, that are not only against teams that are struggling but teams that are doing very well. So you messed up with the 3-21 number somewhere. If you look at Nevada's opponents, it also discredits your point, Nevada is 5-0 and ranked 21st in the country, and who did they beat they Beat Cal. Cal did not win this past week but took the Number 9 Arizona to the wire and ended up losing by one point.

People look at the WAC all the time and use it to try and discredit Boise State, their record and inevitability their success. Who is to say that we could not compete Against the Alabama of the country, week in and week out. Every time we are asked to win, we do. We were a huge underdog in 2007 in the Fiesta Bowl. What did we do, we won. We got into Autzen in 2008 and we won. Last year we beat the Pac-10 champs! A conference last year that was arguably much more deep then the SEC was at the end of the year. This year we go to a "neutral field", not really neutral at all, and beat a TOP 10 team, 2,000 miles from Boise. We beat them so bad, they were still tired when yes the lost to a FCS school, but since then have had two games against good ACC opponents and won. We hosted Oregon State a perennial contender in the PAC-10 and what do we do...you guessed it, won (and dominated them, without miscues by Boise it would have easily been a 28 point rout). My point, bring on the SEC, the Pac-10, the Big 10 or the ACC. I will never count against the Broncos. When people tell me they can't or won't win. Time after time after time the Broncos prevail. Boise can't compete with the speed of these big conferences, some say. Ask Ryan Williams, Ja'quizz Rogers what our D is like. And our offense against ACC and Pac-10 teams, unstoppable. I see what your arguing for, and I think it is a big mis conception about Boise, will we get to the National Championship, I don't think so. Will we have to beat, Ohio State or Oregon (once again) in the Rose Bowl to prove to the nation that yes we can and will win, YES. And what do I have to say to that...BRING IT ON!

One Bronco Nation Under God How about them Hokie fans?

What was your experience with them?

Mine was about 50-50.

Some were very nice and giving us props on a job well done and giving us luck for the rest of the season.

Then you you had the ones dumping beer on top of everyone, and telling us to watch ourselves as we walked out to our car. Curious as to the experience anyone else had walking out of the stadium.

Go Orange, Go Big Blue!
