A couple years ago I did a post that took a look at where our players were drafted (if at all). Well, we all know that a lot has changed since then, so I decided to see how EFX has built the roster. I'll be revisiting this after final cuts are made and after the season so we can see just where our most talented players were drafted.

As the title suggests, I'm really just using this mock to get a better feel for team needs and where players could go. There are some teams where I just don't know what exactly they need, or there's nobody available who I felt fit a need that'd be worth taking (I'm looking at you, Baltimore). So any input is appreciated, but please refrain from saying a pick sucks without elaborating on why it sucks.
Also, I did not mock any trades with this one.
Commissioner Roger Goodell told ESPN's Mike and Mike that, after what he saw last Sunday, the NFL will consider eliminating the Pro Bowl.
Chargers to keep Turner and Smith
Shouldn't have to worry about them making it to the Super Bowl anytime soon.

This is the first time Atwater and Mecklenburg have been semifinalists.

The billboards would promote starting Tim Tebow, though not necessarily bashing Orton. Summer Scrimmage Thoughts & Observations

On this hot summer day, thousands of Broncos fans gathered at Invesco Field at Mile High to watch the team's Summer Scrimmage, which consisted of about an hour of regular practice followed by a scrimmage session and a chance for autographs. This is the third year in a row where a practice has been held at the stadium in the middle of training camp, and if you ever get the chance to go I highly recommend it.
A lot happened there, and here's what I gathered.

Best, Worst Fits for Top Free Agents
NFL.com's Bucky Brooks takes a look at what teams he thinks would be good and bad fits for some of the top soon-to-be free agents. He lists the Broncos as the best fit for DeAngelo Williams and Tyson Clabo.

My day-after sense of the teams that had the top 5 drafts. 1. Buccaneers; 2. Cardinals; 3. Broncos; 4. Lions; 5. Texans.

Where are the safe picks? - ESPN
Interesting read from ESPN. They come to the conclusion that linebackers, tight ends, and defensive backs have generally been the safest and most reliable first round picks since 2002. Based on this, they think Von Miller and Patrick Peterson will provide the most consistent results in the long run of any first round picks this year.

This time around I'll go more in depth with the top-10, so you have an idea what I'm thinking.
Definitely not my top choice, but I figured this was worth sharing.

Figured now is as good a time as ever to put up my first Broncos-only mock of the year, after doing two first round mocks on Mocking the Draft (here and here). Like my first mock on MTD, this is a bit of a trial run to see if I've got people going in the right range.
I won't be mocking any trades until a CBA is reached, not even with draft picks (player trades are more fun).

This will hopefully be better than my last mock, since you guys gave me some good input last time around. Next time I may experiment with a second round, as I continue to learn about each team.
Once again, your input is welcome, but if you have a problem with a pick, please explain why and offer some sort of solution/idea, however vague.

Here goes my first try at a mock draft this offseason. If you have any input on certain teams or prospects, go right ahead and share in the comments. I spent all of last season mostly working on Broncos-centric mocks, and I don't have as good a grasp on the rest of the league's needs as I'd like to, so this is a learning experience for me. Sometimes I found myself wondering how somebody lasted so long or how I eliminated so many people from a position group already.
Call this a trial run, if you will, so any input is welcome.
