Off Topic: For Discussing The Earthquake In Japan

I saw a lot of comments in other threads talking about the earthquake in Japan.  Certainly football talk pales in comparison to what I feel about Japan.  Right now I'd say I'm using it as an...

The NFLPA Needs To Make A Better Case

In contrast to recent events in Japan, talking about a labor dispute in US Professional Football seems almost criminal.  I'm sure the fans at DBN have their thoughts with those suffering in Japan...

The Combine And Player Draft Stock

Should a player's perceived performance in the NFL Combine determine where they go in the draft?  This is and interesting question which gets a lot of debate--some of it quite hot.  Some will say...

The Most Boringest Story Ever: The NFL Business Model

With all this talk of collective bargaining, potential lockouts, anti-trust lawsuits and a missing 2011 NFL season, it made me curious about the NFL as a business.

Drafting A Late-Round QB: Let's Make A Deal!

Mike Holmgren has been pretty definite about one thing in the upcoming draft: the Browns will pick up a quarterback in the first 7 rounds of the 2011 draft. Given other, more-urgent team needs, this will probably occur in the later rounds. So what might the Browns be looking for in what will surely be a developmental signal caller?

Brownsyup: No, It's Not Syrup

Greetings from the Brownsyup Man Cave.  I consider it an honor to be able to do a little writing for DBN.  My plan is... I have no plan.  I hope to provide some entertaining fodder for the wise...

Draft Position Analysis - Browns Pick 8th (REVISED)

Browns 2010 Draft - Top 5 Needs

Holmgren Close To Becoming A Brownie

ESPN's words not mine. Others have posted similar but this one seems to be coming closer to non-rumor status.

Some Seattle Media Upset That Seahawks Are Not Chasing Holmgren

A pretty interesting article. I wonder what folks are saying over on the SB Nation Seahawks board?

Winning/Losing Out Draft Implications

A good article explaining what happens to our draft order in the various possible scenarios. I'm always for the Browns winning and I'd like to see continuing improvement even if it means a lower spot in the draft.

Terry Pluto on Robiskie

Not sure if this is real info or just blowing smoke. More details than I've seen anywhere about why Robiskie is not even suiting up.

Mangini = Draft Day Guru?

If coach Mangini ends up staying on with the Browns (and I think that is becoming a very large IF at this point) he will probably end up having significant input into the 2010 draft.  This is a...

Holmgren Not Interested In Bills

Interesting points with respect to the Browns situation. It seems Holmgren isn't shy about saying what he DOESN'T want to do. He has specifically mentioned the Browns as an interesting landing spot and so if he didn't want to come here he would have likely said so. The other thing that is interesting are the comments about other coaches (Cowher and Gruden) and the amount of money it might take to land Shanahan (lots of zeros).

"Chuckie" = A Browns Fan

Some of the same sentiment and analysis that we see on this site from Gruden. For one thing, he says he does not think that a QB can excel with the current supporting cast.
