Jim Mora After UCLA Football Spring Game (Practice #15)
Denard Robinson - First Collegate Snap At Michigan. Can UCLA experience the same in Mora's First Game? Makes ya look forward to football! (Dreaming Allowed) Go Bruins!
Jim Mora After UCLA Spring Football Practice #14
Coach Rick Neuheisel Stayin' Classy (as his usual)
So... you finally get your "dream job". You work it for 4 years. Do your best. Work your heart out. But end up getting canned for basically, poor performance (you may not totally agree with). What do you do? Sour grapes? Point the finger? Give the finger?
Not if your name is Rick Neuheisel, you don't. I had the good fortune of running into CRN, in the flesh, just before I left campus yesterday, on one of my rare visits. I (proudly) sang Rick's praises to this community, early on during the search for Karl's replacement. I was happy he got the hire. I was glad to have him lead the program. And, if you're a CRN fan... you'll like the brief chit-chat I had with our former coach. (Thanks Nestor, for the "high five" and invite to re-post my encounter here... my first Fan Post!) My copy & paste after the jump...

Shabazz Muhammad is elite camp’s lone NBA-ready player
I'm Shabazz Muhammad. Do I go to UCLA and give Ben Howland a chance to eff with my mind (and possibly my game)? Or do I hang with an NBA-friendly player's coach who'll spotlight me for a season, let me play my game, and get me guaranteed coverage in March. I'm already a lock. Why risk it with a loser program. Or... (see alternative take)...
Derek Fisher reaches buyout with Rockets
Guess we'll see Fish's next move next.
No. 19 UNLV beats Central Arkansas 124-75
Bruins ex-Bruins lightin it up! Whoo-hoo! Folk would drive to Sports Arena to see this kinda show. No doubt about it.
Kendrick Perkins drops 32 pounds, bucking the lockout trend
Attention, Joshua Smith (I know you read this blog)... Perkins looks like a different player. Says he now has hops. Very nice Before and After pics. Very inspirational!
Q&A: Terry Donahue on the state of UCLA football
1) A quarterback.
1a) A coach who can get a quarterback.
Interesting. TD says this is what we need... among other things.
Curiously, Donahue doesn't mention Bret Hundley by name... nor does the author ask specifically about Hundley. I've now got some concern about Hundley (not just from this interview, but I'm concerned that BH was brought in for The Pistol. Clearly, he can run. How's his arm? Really? I don't recall anyone calling Hundley a gunslinger. Sound off, Bruins!
Reeves Nelson Reinstated To UCLA Basketball Team Nelson will return to practice on Thursday, Nov. 17
From the Official UCLA Website. Go Bruins!
Former UCLA vice chancellor for student affairs Winston C. Doby dies
Dr. Winston C. Doby. A great, great Bruin. Student. Track team. Staff. Administrator. Vice Chancellor (#3 to Chancellor Young, during my tenure). Lover of all things UCLA, especially, Track, Basketball, Football. Super-duper inspirational. Every bit as refined and stand-up as John Wooden. Daily Bruin has the write up here. I was honored to know Winston on a personal level. All the best to his family.
Ben Howland, Reeves Nelson meet?
Nelson is all but assured to be suspended for Tuesday's game against Middle Tennessee State and Nelson's future with the team would depend on how he takes that news, the source said. He could quit or be kicked off the team, but "that would be an extreme situation" the source said.
Travis Wear sprains hand in practice
Guys, guys... please... stop playing so hard in practice! Getting hurt in the men's gym does nothing for us. Save it for game-time swatting and windmill slams. Get well soon, TW.
2 UCLA basketball players injured in practice (C'mon! Can't we ever start the season cleanly?!!)
LOS ANGELES (AP)—UCLA sophomore center Anthony Stover and junior guard De’End Parker both sustained concussions in preseason basketball practice.
A team spokesman said Monday that Stover was hurt during a drill in practice a week ago, while Parker was hurt during Saturday’s intrasquad scrimmage when a teammate inadvertently elbowed him in the head.
Stover is expected to return to practice this week, while Parker will miss the rest of the week and is being monitored daily.

St. John's walk-ons jump through hoops - Shorthanded Red Storm invites the student body to try out -- but can anybody play?
Lav's got the beginnings of a heart-warming movie going on in Manhattan. Resurrected Coach laid up in the hospital, recoverying from cancer surgery... Back at the school, Open Tryouts for 5-6 students to fill-in in the Varsity Squad in Coache's second season, as incoming freshmen declared academically ineligible... grueling try-outs with assorted Basic Training Type You-Fail-You're-Out competition... the students who make it are (a) a 26 year old Freshman, fresh from fightint in Iraq, former baller... (b) a hodge podge of other ballers who kinda landed at St Johns for their own reasons... dang, man... Right Up Steve Lavin's Alley! I'm looking for Lav's recovery, and a Final Four birth. Man-o-man.
UCLA QB Richard Brehaut breaks left leg
Get well soon, Bre.
Reeves Nelson and Joshua Smith on the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50
Should be a really good season for Bruins Basketball. Whoo-hoo!
Steve Lavin to have different prostate cancer treatment
Prayers, warm thoughts, well-wishing for our former UCLA Head Baskeball Coach.
(True Freshman) Braxton Miller to start for Ohio State
Schools committed to winning, absolutely do not tolerate losing. "If you have a scholarship with us, it's because you're a baller... now get in there and help us win!" Attention Rick Neuheisel. (I'm not just talking about the quarterback position).
Early in the season, the end seems near for Rick Neuheisel
I'm not sure if Bill Plaschke articles are welcomed here or not... but I found the following quote at the end of the article most interesting: "Neuheisel's only other hope is that UCLA Chancellor Gene Block doesn't allow him to be fired because it would require buying out of the final year of his $1.25-million-a-year contract — plus buyouts for some of his coaches — and that wouldn't look good for a school system in deep economic trouble."
Boise State gets NCAA probation, scholarship cuts
Football: 3 less scholies, less hitting practices during Spring Ball, no loss of victories, no loss of bowl eligibility. Bigger penalties for their Women's Tennis, Track & Field.
Texas QB Gilbert out as starting QB Saturday
Sounds like we should be drawing up all manner of blitzes! Whoo -hoo!
