Love has been in Los Angeles since the season ended, resting and now starting to get ready for next season. He's been shooting 500 to 600 jump shots a day, doing yoga and strength training. He also is working with a physical therapist and, at the suggestion of the people he's staying with, has gone to a Beverly Hills salon for a ... manicure?

Kevin Love said in an interview with 790 The Zone recently that he would have likely tested the draft waters out of high school had the NBA not required that players go to college for at least one season.

"I probably would have tested the waters but like I've been saying, I wouldn't have traded in that UCLA experience for anything," Love said. "There's so many things that went in to it: we had the sunshine out there in Westwood, the beaches, good looking girls, and the basketball of course..."

Russell Westbrook is getting the recognition he deserves.

Westbrook earned Western Conference Rookie of the Month honors for December, the league announced today, a credit to the steady progress he’s made.

Westbrook averaged 15.5 points, 5.1 assists and 9.9 rebounds in 15 games last month. He scored a career-high 31 points against the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 29, matched a career-high of 11 assists against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 21.

Kevin Love and Sebastian Telfair gave the Wolves a huge boost off the bench in their recent double-overtime loss to the Spurs and Randy Wittman is reportedly considering moving them into the starting lineup.

"I've got to look at it," said Wittman. "It's early. I don't want to look at that, but I'm seriously looking at different things."

McHale Loving Love?

Here's an interesting rumor concerning Kevin McHale taking a hard look at Kevin Love:

Numerous sources with varying ties to Minnesota confirmed to DraftExpress over the past few days that Timberwolves GM Kevin McHale has locked in on UCLA freshman Kevin Love as possibly his favorite prospect in this draft. McHale reportedly likes the skill-level and all-around feel for the game that Love brings to the table, as well as his winning mentality, and sees him as an excellent potential compliment to Al Jefferson in Minnesota’s front-court.

Picking 3rd in this draft, many would consider it a reach to take Love, although numerous advanced statistical formulas have identified him as being the 2nd most productive player in this draft, behind Michael Beasley.

I can't imagine McHale drafting KL with the third pick; however, with Minnesota's position in the draft, I can see him trading down to get a few role players, setting himself up to draft KL somewhere in the mid-lottery.

Looks like his hard work is paying off.
