Reagins Dangling Starting Infielders?
In addition to the top link, HERE is a link to another story talking of the same possibility.
Bud Selig to step down in 2012!
Maybe 2012 isn't really predicted to be the end of the world by the Mayans but the end of biased tyranny amongst east-coast bigwigs in Major League Baseball...
Ha! Who am I kidding??
An Emotional Plea for John Lackey's Return
I am surprised by the general sentiments that have befallen over fellow HH’ers regarding John Lackey. It seems that many seem rather indifferent over whether we sign Big John or not. Many of the off-season posts are acting as if Lackey is as good as gone. Perhaps, this stems from a lack of confidence in our FO putting up the $ to re-sign him. But I ask you this: How is John Lackey NOT the face of this organization? And why wouldn’t the FO put up the money?

Vladimir Guerrero on staying in Anaheim
Vladimir Guerrero on staying in Anaheim as an Angel:
"I'm not thinking so much about the uncertainty, but I'm thinking about my mom and how comfortable she feels in Anaheim. That's always one thing that I'm going to think about regarding free agency. It would be very gratifying to continue to play with the guys I've known here and have gotten used to."

Old Footage of Ruth Discovered...
Maybe the timing of this post is a bit off considering we are currently eating, sleeping, and dreaming of playoff victory against the Beantown Sux. However, as my only connection to a community of true baseball fans I thought this could be appreciated by everyone here at HH.
The NY Times reported yesterday the discovery of old video footage of Babe Ruth and the original, old Yankees stadium. Believed to be from 1928, the short footage includes, amongst other things, Ruth striking out and then leaning on his bat like a cane while arguing with the ump. Super grainy but pretty cool for anyone that is a fan of baseball.
Also, check out centerfield. 480 FEET!!!! (I dont even think Torii's homerun last night would have made it out at that length!)

I took a pitch from Lester and then he threw a two-seam fastball. Bobby was running, and I saw him going. I hit a mistake, I guess. I usually pop it up. Truth is, I didn't know where the ball was. I closed my eyes and swung.
Joe West on the "strikezone"
Joe West as quoted in the Washington Examiner last year:
"[..]A batter can’t hit a pitch above his hands, so how can that be a strike? The rule book zone isn’t that well understood." (Emphasis mine)
Hold onto your caps kiddos, this is going to be one hell of a series.
Since the start of the 2004 season, the Angels are the Majors' best road team with their 274-211 record. Their 47 road wins this season lead the AL. They won 50 on the road -- and 50 at home -- last year.
