I'm a local guy, having grown up in the Tampa Bay area. I graduated from the University of South Florida and currently reside and work in the Tampa Bay area. I'm an avid sports fan and my allegiances lie with the Rays, the Lightning, the 'Noles, and of course, with our Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I've supported the Bucs back into their Buccaneer Bruce days (which we get to re-visit this year) and have been a season ticket holder for the past 4 years.

Somewhat funny video that could be about the Bucs

Though this is about the Browns, I thought this could almost be about the Bucs this year. Yes, Cleveland has it much worse than us, but tell me you haven't said these things this year.

Blount could be Freeman's saving grace

Let's take a minute to stop talking about how awful we've looked in a few of these games and focus on what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can do to make their season a bit more successful.  We've all...

Embarrassing: The 2011 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The performance of the Bucs has been embarrassing this season. Fundamental things are failing.

Interesting quotes from Dom. "This is predicated on losing Gerald McCoy," Dominik told Albert Breer of "If that doesn’t happen, this doesn’t happen, we don’t claim Haynesworth. The reality, we lost Gerald for the season, we’re 4-4 and still in the thick of it, we’ve lost our last two and we’re one game off the wild card. We don’t think we’re out of it." Haynesworth will be out of it, quickly, if he doesn’t do what he’s told. "Sure it is," Dominik said in response to the question of whether the leash on Haynesworth is short. "He does have history, of course. But at the end of the day, you talk to anyone in the NFL, week to week, and you know you can be the hero one week, and be the villain the next. It’s tough for any player under that scrutiny. But that’s the nature of our business. He’s gonna have a shorter leash, but if he’s prepared and ready to play, he’ll play." Still, Dominik was sold by watching film of each of Haynesworth’s snaps with the Patriots. "I saw disruption," Dominik said. "I saw strength, a finisher, a guy with the ability to put a lot of pressure on an offense. He’s still able to be a penetrating force. He can hit it and go. I didn’t see as much dogging it, but I did see the last play, where he played a 1-gap technique, and I can see why it got them frustrated. He opened up the run lane, and [Brandon] Jacobs walked in the end zone. That said, I didn’t see a guy that didn’t care. He battled and competed. I think he’s worthy of an opportunity."

Bucs put a claim in on Haynesworth

I hate to say I told you so, but I will. The Bucs put in a claim on problem child Albert Haynesworth and if awarded him, they will assume his deal from New England. Great look at his deal here. The basics are base salary of $1.5MM incentives at 20% of the team snaps and an additional $590k every 5% increment above 45% with $400k if he makes the Pro Bowl

Blount a Third Down Back?

Given Legarrette Blount's statement that he'll be on the field for some (if not most) of the third down action, it's time to see what BucsNation thinks about this.  Do you think Blount is a capable...

Bucs mettle will be on display.

Freeman, Bucs working to pull quarterback out of downward spiral

Nothing shocking here. Bad QB play and the team is working on fixing it. I found this quote interesting. "Freeman has been throwing too often from his back foot, without stepping into his throws." Really? I've heard that somewhere before.

Morris accepts responsibility for Talib, but what about the offense?

The link is nothing more than Morris saying he should be held accountable for Talib. That's great and all that the head coach sticks up for his players, but when will Talib he hold accountable? Same question for Olson and the entire offensive unit.

Bucs attempt late comeback, but fail to fall to 4-3

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers almost pulled off another 4th quarter comeback, but came up short thanks to a late interception.  The first half was horrendous as was the 3rd quarter, but Freeman and...

Loss to 49ers may have capsized ship.

Can we forget about that ugly loss yet?  Beyond bad it was an embarrassing display by every single person affiliated with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Players didn't execute, they weren't prepared,...

West coast trip could turn season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sitting at 3-1, right where we thought they would be.  Of course, we all thought a win against the Lions to open the season would happen, but that the loss would come...

Are you ready for some football?

if you are, you wont hear the theme song tonight since Hank Williams Jr compared Obama to Hitler. So much for the full Monday Night Experience.

National exposure will lead to more recognition

Post Game Thread - Bucs Win

After one of the worst opening 30 minutes I've ever seen, the Bucs rode a hot second half and a balanced attack (say what?) to beat the Vikings 24-20. Discuss.

Gameplan, not panic will be key in Minnesota

In the days after the beating from the Detroit Lions, Raheem Morris indicated he was not pleased with how Legarrette Blount was used and that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got away from the game plan. ...

Four games appears to be Talib's sentence

Looks like we should be without Talib for 4 games this year. Could've been worse, though I'm not thrilled with anything at this point.

ESPN launching "new" stat

I know some of you are averse to numbers, but this isn't a bad primer to what will surely be forced on us by ESPN. It's a new stat called "QBR" that evaluates a quarterback's impact on a game, considering down, distance, time, and other factors. Get ready to hear every ABC and ESPN analyst spouting off about this. Whether it's any good or not is another story.

Sad day for BucsNation (or just for me)

If this turns out to be true, well, it was a good run Caddy. High hopes didn't become realized but you provided value over the years to our team. I suspect I'll write a farewell piece at some point, but I'm hoping the Bucs turn around and re-sign him before it's too late. Update: It's official. Cadillac is now a member of the St. Louis Rams. Sad face. /cue music Tell me how am I supposed to live without you Now that I've been lovin' you so long How am I supposed to live without you How am I supposed to carry on When all that I've been livin' for is gone

Bucs miss on Nnamdi who flies to Philly

And the dream is over.  The Bucs missed out on Nnamdi Asomugha, stud corner formerly of the Oakland Raiders, and now of the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Jay Glazer.  The Bucs were long shots...

Jonathan Joseph will sign with Texans, likely leading Nnamdi Asomugha to the Jets. Editor's Note: Swing and a miss on our part. The DB market is very thin now.
