I was generally wondering what the community thought about the "one-level-at-a-time" approach that the Pirates take.  Would it not have been worth giving Marte a few weeks at AAA or Grossman some time at AA?  I understand that with innings limits on young pitchers, that sometimes aggresive promotions are not possible.  However, I feel frustrated that the Pirates aren't more aggresive with promotions sometimes.  Just interested if anyone else had some thoughts.

The Pirates shorts season teams are going to being playing over the course of the next week.  State College opens this Friday (6/17) and the GCL Pirates open next Monday (6/20).  Has anyone seen the full rosters for these teams yet?  Should we expect Allie to open with the Spike or will he be give more time in extended spring training?  I am definately looking forward to seeing some of our young, but very promising prospects in action!

Tonight in Lynchburg,VA is the first (and maybe only) Dave Littlefield game: Moskos v.Wieters.

Given that several sources including ESPN and SI predict that Wieters will be in the majors later this summer, this may be our first and only look at DL's nightmare match-up.

So far....Moskos pitching well and Wieters is 1-for-2.....

For those of you who may be interested; a quick update on our most recent draft oversight.  Matt Wieters is currently batting .500 with an OPS of over 1.500 after 10 games with the Frederick Keys.  This is a small sample for sure, but a few of his numbers hint at his overall potential; especially his 10:3 BB:K ratio.  I think I speak for many fans when I say "thanks again DL"!
