According to ProFootballTalk.com, Angelo Crowell has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

So much for the possibility of bringing him back. Cato June anyone?

WGR 550 is reporting that the Bills are meeting with Tennesse DE Robert Ayers.

Personally, I think Ayers looks like a great player even though he doesn't have the top end pass rushing speed many Bills fans are hoping for. He's also more well rounded then other DE like Maybin and English.

Crowell a Bill again?

According to a story that appeared on both the Bills' website and WGR, Angelo Crowell is still interested in resigning with Buffalo. Crowell was in town today cleaning out his locker and was taking questions from members of the media. According to Crowell himself, the supposed bad blood between himself and the Bills is just water under the bridge and he actually sat down with Russ Brandon today to talk about coming back.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I would be happy if we did resign him. Crowell was a solid tackler and brought some much needed intensity to our defense. Plus, it would save us a draft choice which we could then use for a position of bigger need.

Cardinals' Wilson fined for hit on Edwards

Surprisingly (or maybe not so much) Ardian Wilson was fined 25K for his hit that knocked Trent Edwards out last weekend in Arizona. The NFL said that he was being fined, not for a helmet to helmet hit, but instead for throwing his entire body weight on top of Edward's as he fell to the ground. The link to the ESPN story is below:

Ruben Brown joins Rob Ray on "Enforcers"

This might not be considered all that news worthy, but former Buffalo Bills guard Ruben Brown will be joining former Sabre Rob Ray as the new co-host on Enforcer, a local Buffalo sports talk show. Brown is replacing Matthew Barnaby who in turn is replacing the Barry "The Living Mullet" Melrose as ESPN's hockey analyst. Brown also announced that he is going to be doing a half hour weekly sports talk show with Shredd and Regan on 103.3 The Edge.

Even when Brown was let go by the Bills he kept many close ties with Buffalo, especially with his annual motorcycle run for charity. It is nice to see him back in town for good.

Time Warner dropping WIVB

So usually I am fairly on top of these things, but it did not realize that today was the day that Time Warner was going to drop WIVB, effective at midnight. I'm not sure if this means that CBS will be totally dropped or just the news network, but does anyone know for sure? I have a feeling this could greatly affect the way we watch of Bills here in Buffalo

Here is the link from WIVB: http://www.wivb.com/global/story.asp?s=9105919

ESPN's Trent Dilfer: Brady out for Season

There is no link yet for this story yet, but it just flashed across the bottoms of the screen on ESPN. From what I read the quote went something like this:

"According to a Patriots player who spoke to ESPN's Trent Dilfer, "Matt(Cassel) is out quarterback from the rest of the year."

As soon as an official story or link is posted I will put it on here. In the mean time this is just a rumor. After the MRI is done tomorrow, I'm sure we will know for sure.

Bills Add Two More to Practice Squad

From BuffaloBills.com

"The Bills filled two of the three remaining vacancies on the practice squad Monday signing wide receiver C.J. Hawthorne and tight end Jonathan Stupar.

Buffalo still has one opening remaining on the eight-man unit.

Hawthorne was signed by the Bills midway through training camp after injuries left the receiver position shorthanded for a time in the preseason. He was one of the five players released by the club during first cuts to reduce the roster to 75 on Aug. 26.

Stupar was an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Virginia this spring and was signed by the New England Patriots this past May.

The 6’3” 254-pound tight end had a career best 40 catches for 359 yards and a pair of touchdowns as a senior for the Cavaliers. He’ll provide depth for a tight end position that’s still trying to recover from a bout with the injury bug."
