Attended CU '91-'96. First CU game was against Stanford in 1987. Best "live" CU game is probably a toss-up between the 1993 @ OU game where Charles Johnson blew up for something like 180 yards receiving, we beat them on the road when they were Top 10 and in the process knocked out their QB Cale Gundy and the Sooner Schooner tipped over & broke some poor saps arm (actually, that sucks)... and when Rash went for over 2000yds in 1994 against ISU.

Love the Buffs - I grew up in that stadium.

I have no clue how this will play out, but Fall camp is going to be interesting. Really hoping someone rises above the fray with consistent accuracy.

How can you not want to see Lee "F*ck It" Corso make an ass of himself in Boulder?

I see 5-7, unless we can pull our heads out of our @$$ and win the close games, finally. Then, 7-5.

Given Tad's ability to recruit, I wouldn't be surprised to see Damiene out there, even if it's "just" for the games after this semester ends.

Quote from Dad in the article saying CU may have the edge in landing Tyrone Wallace, Jr.

Coach Hawkins answered the fanmail referenced in an earlier post. I actually found myself wanting to believe in this guy again. I'm sure this will last exactly 1 game, but Hawk does give some decent answers. Here's one I liked in particular:

Dan, there were such high expectations when you were hired to be the CU head football coach a little more than four years ago. I believe you have done an excellent job of restoring the integrity of the program. However, this has not translated into wins but rather into four consecutive losing seasons. What would you say to those fans who have lost faith in your ability to run both a successful and clean Division I football program?
--Grant, Lafayette

DH: Grant, we have won championships at every level of football, and I really believe that successful experience does not go away. Every place has a new learning curve, with situations and variables to adjust to, and that was no different coming to Colorado from Boise State. I have looked at this job, this program, this place in its totality, worked very hard at trying to help and improve every aspect, both on and off the field.

My staff and I have had more pain and frustration than anyone will ever know about not winning more games, but we continue to work hard, do things right, learn, adjust, and grow with our situation. Shoot, we wanted to be back in the Big 12 hunt in our first year (2006), so we are not patient either.

Your support of me, Mike Bohn, the football and athletic programs and the University is more important now than ever. Remember Coach Mac's saying: The four most important words in the English language, "I believe in you." I believed in Colorado at a very tough time in its history; let's all believe in this place now when it may not be the easiest thing to do.

The power and magic of people with a purpose will make it happen. I think the people on campus and in the Dal Ward Athletic Center know what we have done and what we are up against. Every situation has a different boiling point for success, and I believe we are getting closer to that point. We are at a critical point and we need the Buff faithful to be supportive of the program; if everyone rolls up their sleeves and rows in the same direction, we will reach the destination.
