So we will have A.J. Love, and Griffin next year. Now we need a solid qb to throw to them.

Voodoo Five Looking Ahead to WKU

After the the crushing loss to UF on Sept. 11, the Bulls are looking to secure a win. Luckily the next opponent is WKU, a Sun Belt team. The Hilltoppers have only been playing FBS football for a few years, and it shows. They currently are 0-3, and they not only want a win but a win over a BCS team. Here is a quick look into WKU's team:

Offense

The Hilltoppers'  quarterback, Kawaun Jakes, has thrown for 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions this season. His qb rating is 115.7, and thats against three BCS teams. He has is only averaging 1.8 yards when rushing, so he isn't much of a mobile threat. Their leading rusher is Bobby Rainey, and he has rushed for 444 yards on 74 attempts. He is currently averaging 6.1 yards a carry. So he shouldn't be taken lightly, but he became a bit stagnant in WKU's game against Indiana. As he rushed for 62 yards in their opening drive, but only had 42 yards after that.

WKU doesn't seem to spread out their passing attack, as their only wideout with touchdown catches is Marcus Vasquez. Most of WKU's recievers have been averaging over 10 yards a catch, but have only 1-3 catches this season. If USF stops the run, then WKU's offense should be rather flat. The Toppers have lost 23 games in a row, so lets extend it to 24 this Saturday!

Defense

The Hilltopper's defense has allowed 150 points this season. Indiana's quarterback had a career high 366 passing yards, and 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. It seems that their passing defense leaves much to be be desired, which considering our wideout depth is a very good thing, Their rush defense isn't anything to write home about either, as they allowed Indiana's halfbacks to score 4 rushing touchdowns.

Considering WKU is a Sun Belt team, BJ will have no problem running the ball down their throats. And with how terrible their pass defense is, BJ might even have a big day throwing. I'm hoping for a good display from Murray, as we might have to rely on the run against conference opponents until Love and Griffen are healthy. This is a great game to help our very inexperienced receiving core prepare for conference play, plus get BJ's confidence up after the UF loss.

Good to see that they are keeping everything in perspective.

That was fast. Six Bulls have been chosen by NFL teams. Five by the draft and one through free agency, what a year for USF!
