Not to step on OTS's toes or anything, but some of these "metldowns" are pretty funny.

"Boise State rated higher because the Broncos are third in the Harris and USA Today polls and second in the BCS computer ranking, Edwards said. "

I would like to see who's number one in the computers. It can't be the Ducks or they'd be the projected number one.

Could flu shots have contriuted to our poor performance?

I really don't wanna take anything away from South Carolina because they came prepared to play but the Fetching Mrs. Bumpjon works in the Student Health Center and she said that they gave the team flu shots last week. Flu shots have been know to cause lethargy and our team certainly looked lethargic on Saturday.

Playoff PAC co-founder Chad Pehrson said: "BCS Bowls all claim to be ‘501(c)(3)’ public charities—the same tax designation as the American Red Cross—to make their revenues tax-exempt and obtain other taxpayer-funded benefits. Playoff PAC’s review uncovered a disturbing pattern of BCS Bowl organizations using their charitable funds to enrich Bowl executives, pay registered lobbyists without disclosure, fund political campaigns, and heap frivolous benefits on Bowl insiders. The BCS Bowls’ activities raise important concerns under federal tax laws and we anticipate that the IRS will give these issues due attention."

Roll 'Bama Roll The much maligned 2010 defense and the stellar 2009 defense, a comparisson.

There's been quite a bit of discussion about this year's defense as compared to last year's defense.  Most recently in the comments of the Affecting the Quarterback article.  However if you look at the stats, this defense matches up pretty well with last year's.  In fact, other than rushing yards, fumbles (both forced fumbles and fumbles recovered), and sacks, this defense is as good or better than last year's.  And before you say "yeah but we had SJSU, PSU, and Duke this year," remember that we had VT, FIU, and North Texas.  I'd say that they're about comparable schedules thus far.

Now I'm no Ryan Mallet fan and I don't think he's gonna win the Heisman, but I do know that he's done more than throw one touchdown to win a game.

Also, I never thought that anything could ruin MC Hammer for me but now I throw up a little in my mouth when I hear U Can't Touch This.

Two sources close to the Heisman trust said the body’s investigation is coming to a close, and will ultimately concur with the NCAA’s determination that Bush was ineligible during his Heisman-winning season in 2005. Because of that independent conclusion, sources said the trust will relieve Bush of the award and leave the honor for that season vacant.

Roll 'Bama Roll Well that sucks!

I graduated last year and decided to stick around and get an additional masters degree.  However because my program is all online, I am not considered a "student" for ticket purposes.  Well, that didn't bother me too much because the Fetching Mrs. Bumpjon is also a student.  She bought tickets and was going to allow me to use them.

Well, we just found out that because one of the Fetching Mrs. Bumpjon's classes was switched from a regular in-class class to an online class (no fault of her own, the prof's decision) she is no longer a "student" for ticket purposes and they took her tickets away.  On top of it all, nobody knows how to get us our money back.

Roll 'Bama Roll Did BYU mess up the MWC's shot at an automatic BCS bid?

So when BYU made it official that they were ditching the MWC, my first thought was that the MWC can kiss its shot at earning an automatic BCS bid good bye.  But after looking at the BCS's procedure for future automatic  berths, I'm not so sure.  In fact, I think that TCU and Boise State are ecstatic about BYU's departure.  Now Boise State and TCU will have the run of the conference but BYU's departure doesn't really hurt the MWC's chances at an automatic bid.

Roll 'Bama Roll Is it just me?

Maybe it's because SJSU was the first team I rooted for as a wee lad, but it really bothers me when folks say SJS for San Jose State.  It's SJSU.

Why do people say SJS instead of SJSU?  It's not because we just say San Jose State and not San Jose State University.  We only say Penn State but everyone knows that it's PSU.  Same for Arizona State (ASU), Boise State (BSU), Ohio State (OSU), Oklahoma State (OSU), Washington State (WSU), etc.  I also thought maybe because it's only 3 letters.  But we say Bama, MTSU, SDSU, TAMU, Wake, etc.  So, it's just gotta be because SJSU is a nobody that nobody has ever heard of and folks just don't know any better.  But that don't really make any sense because RBR is home to the smartest most erudite sports fans on the planet.

Ok, I'll get off of my soap box now and let the bashing begin.
