Silver And Black Pride Ochocinco wants to play for Jackson

Before there was just the idea of Ochocinco joining the Raiders. You know just off-season talk about possible trades and additions to help our team. I have heard before the Chad Ochocinco had much respect for Hue Jackson and called him the best receiving coach he's ever had but i did not know he had that much love for Coach Jackson.

He originally wanted to play for the Patriots but everyone knows that will NEVER happen. Belichick does not like loud mouth players and and the possibility of a distraction. Now apparently he has been tweeting how he wants to play for Jackson no matter what team he is coaching no matter what he is asked to do. He also called him the greatest coach he ever had, not just receiving coach, coach period. Weird isn't it? A receiver actually wanting to come and play for the Raiders, and that someone to be Chad Ochocinco? Hue must have an incredible effect on players which really makes me look forward to the ability of our new HC.

I for one am ALL for acquiring Ochocinco. What is he a 6 time pro bowl receiver? Of course he is passed his prime but let's face it, we dont have a reliable threat at the WR position. I would say maybe Schilens but he can't seem to stay healthy for shit. Murphy is inconsistent. DHB, hahahaha, and Ford is our deep threat, and standing at about 5'9" or 5'10", i wouldnt call that exactly the best height for a go-to receiver.

One big reason why I think it would be a smart move is I am almost certain he will be cheap. Bengals coach obviously does not like him at all. They keep trading shots back and forth. They will either not want much or they will release him and since Chad like totally wants to bang Hue Jackson, Al Davis wont have to pull out the big bucks to bring him in. Here is what i see in Ochocinco's future with the Raiders.

Personally I think he will love the attitude of Raider football. Im sure the idea of being the bully would make him cum in his pants. Though he may not be the most loved person in the world I actually think I might convince the non-belivers in our locker room what a great coach he is, helping unify the locker room a bit if needed. Ochocinco will bring swagger to the Raiders receiving corps, and I think our receivers will feed off of it and make them strive to be even better and really work hard to be able to be trusted in getting the ball. Campbell will have an experienced go-to WR therefore taking pressure off Zach Miller and even better directing attention toward Ochocinco and less on Ford for deep threat.

I dont see us losing anything in this situation at all. If he becomes a distraction and wine and complain which I HIGHLY doubt, especially if were winning, but just incase he does we cut him. He will most likely come cheap and not that big of a hastle. Thoughts? comments? im sure alot of you will disagree and i'll be glad to read your thoughts. Go Raiders.!

THERE IS ONE PROBLEM.!!! Mr.DHB might have to change his number... again. Because really? Someone who changed his name to his number kinda deserves it. DHB hasnt done shit so it wont be missed... it would be retarted to if the announcement said "And now joining your Oakland Raiders... Number 84, Chad Ochocinco.!" whaaaat.? haha

Silver And Black Pride What's the word on Jon Gruden?

I will start off by saying i was a Cable supporter and am very very grateful for what he has done for our Raiders. I changed our atmosphere I made the players play for something more than just there pay checks. But he has been let go and wish the best of luck the Cable guy.

Obviously there has been a lot of talk regarding Hue Jackson taking over as head coach and I feel we really REALLY need him back. This organization has proven it does not do well without some stability. Stability in coaching and stability in the QB position are much needed for success. There is nothing we can do now about Cable but Hue has been with this team for a year and would be a familiar face as head coach and is less of a change than hiring a brand new coach. The locker room is already gonna be divided with many tired of the constant coaching changes and bringing in another coach besides Jackson will only make the locker room worse. However... it is many Raider fans dream that another particular someone would come back to join the organization and acquire his old postion as the Raiders head coach. That person is Jon Gruden.

Jon Gruden has lead us to success and was the last HC to take the Raiders to a winning season. I know Gruden is interested in returning to coaching football but is he interested in coming back to the Raiders? I have not heard much talk at all about Gruden returning but then most of the talk has been focused on Jim Harbaugh. I would love for him to return and is the only other coach in my mind that can calm the locker room down. As many of you have read Shane Lechler has been really open with his frustration with the coaching change and has also said and i quote, "The last time I was this disappointed was when Jon Gruden was traded to Tampa. We went to the Super Bowl that next year but I'm not so sure that wasn't with Jon's team." If we brought him back im sure Lechler and Sebas will be open there mouth to the guys in letting them know Gruden is legit. My question is do you really think there is a chance Gruden can come back? He was the last head coach to drive us to success, but he also was the last coach to beat us in our last Super Bowl which im sure doesnt sit well with Al. So has there been any real talk on the return of Jon Gruden or is this just a Raider fans dream?

please comment and let me know.

Silver And Black Pride Gradkowski on IR and Raiders bring in J.T. O'Sullivan

Though I never like players being hurt nor do i wish for players to be hurt but I am very happy Bruce is out for the season. FINALLY there will be no question about who is starting.! Maybe our QB's can finally develop a connection knowing who the starter will be for the rest of the season.! Unless Boller makes a run at it... i really REALLY hope that doesnt happen.

Since losing one QB we sign another in J.T. O'Sullivan. I don't know much about him so I could use some info. All i know is he has a really fast release, not very mobile but not afraid to make a run. I dont expect him to play at all or even make the team next year but please comment and let me know what you think or any info on our new back up QB. Go Raiders.!

Silver And Black Pride Don't Blame Jason Campbell.... necessarily

In  my eyes Jason played alright for quite a while. Made smart throws, smart accurate throws, helped moved the ball. I know everyone is going to blame him for losing this game and say Gradowski should have started and hey... maybe your right. I also thought Gradowski fit the type of offense that needed to be run against Steelers but we did not lose because of JC. here is why...

RECEiVERS: it seems we regressed yet again and there were dropped balls left and right. our receivers need to learn to catch and reel in the damn pass. ball security. made solid catches. I dont know what the fuck was up with Zach Miller today but he could not catch a damn ball.! he finished with 2 passes for 9 yards. Are you serious.? 9 YARDS.?! Brandon Myers caught 3 passes for 28 yards including a really nice catch for a first down. What really killed us in my view was Louis Murphy's fumble in Oakland territory. Get a flag to help us out and i start thinking of a comeback and then i see Murphy with a catch.!... then he fumbles... WTF.

and what i think the biggest reason for our loss is....

PLAY CALLING: Do you know why the Patriots scored 39 points against the steelers? Short passes. The Steelers will stop the run. There corners can be suspect so pick out there weakness and go after it.! You run slants, 3 step drops. They worked early in the game so why stop.? If you throw consecutive short passes it does several things to the opposing defense. 1) it bugs the SHIT OUT OF THEM.! Its like in boxing and think of the short passes as a jab. You keep landing jabs the opponent gets frustrated. nobody wants consecutive small punches to the face, and no defense wants consecutive short passes being made either. 2) when you pass it makes the defense guard the pass. when Gradowski went in they threw multiple passes in a row then guess what happened next? Bush rushing up the middle for a 24 yard gain.!!! a WIDE OPEN HOLE.! oh gee how did that happen? A strong passing game opens up the running game. Im not saying to abandon the run. But a simple 5 yard, 3 yard, 6 yard pass will open the run and the deep ball and win us the game.

So I dont blame JC's lack of impact on him but they type of play calling. He started off doing what he could do to move the ball. I will say his last drive he played poorly. He regressed into playing like the old JC from the beginning of the year, trying to make something happen and forcing the ball. He was playing scared and I can understand that when your offense is not producing anything so you feel the pressure of needing to make a play. still, that last drive was horrible by Jason Campbell. But the game was not his fault.

Oh.! Just watched the post game interview and saw that Jason Campbell will remain the starter. Not exactly sure how i feel about it yet.

Silver And Black Pride HELP.! First Raider game.!

Hello Raider fans longtime no talk. This week will be my very first professional football game I will be attending and extremely excited it is against the damn Chargers. I live in LA so i will be driving up for the game to watch my beloved Raiders beat the Chargers! Of course in LA there is no football team and the closest team to travel to is unfortunately the Chargers but i am a diehard Raider fan and will not go to that stadium for my first game... i might catch a disease. So being the young Raider fan who's never been to a game I could reeeeeaaaally use some advice or pointers or just things i should do like I don't know how tailgating works and all that stuff. So please anything you thing would be great to experience especially for a first timer please please PLEASE let me know... cuz i have no idea of anything. OH.! and a quick question... is it more expensive to buy a jersey at the stadium or no? THANK  YOU.! GO RAIDERS.!!!

Silver And Black Pride John Henderson's Pre-Game Ritual

Today I decided to look and see what our newly acquired DT played like. I wanted to see what exactly John Henderson brought to this Raider defense. What I found was his pre-game ritual and i am sooo excited to see the effect he will have on the team.

Henderson's Pre-Game Ritual

Then i started thinking if a calm veteran such as Richard Seymour really moved this defense to perform better, what would a loud mouth, angry, tough veteran bring to this defense? Just imagine the intensity this defense will have this year.!

Silver And Black Pride OT Brian Bulaga a Raider since Pee-wee football.!

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-first-draft/09000d5d81743edd/First-Draft-Brian-Bulaga

Video Link

Watch this clip. Doesn't he look great in that Raiders uniform.? He shares the same number as an ex-raider im not too fond of but hey.! Maybe he should be a Raider. Wasn't my first pick but that uniform is starting to give me some thoughts.

He is very strong in both the run and the pass and is pretty agile at the tackle spot. Even better is that he is very coachable and very hardworking and that combination is needed for any starting position on an NFL team. I think he could be another solid draft choice for the Raiders. Do you.?

Silver And Black Pride The Best Mock Draft.! I think...

Now dont just skim thru the picks i have made for each round. I have picked these players for a certain reason. And thank you a couple people on this site who inspired some of these choices and made me look deeper into these players. Enjoy.

Round 1: Rolando McClain ILB, 6'4" 249lbs. (Alabama)

This of course is one of the toughest picks to make because we dont have a clear cut pick. There is so many needs and we need to think of who we can acquire now and who will be there later to help this team. Some of the other posibilites include OT Trent Williams or another OT, DT Williams, or even CB Joe Haden or S Eric Berry. I feel there is a good class of OT in the draft this year so we should pick one up later, as for a DT i think Williams is too big of a reach at 8. I feel he is overrated just because of his size and potential to become a NT. And even though we would all love to have another shutdown corner opposite to Nnamdi, CB is not our biggest concern. I feel McClain is the best pick at 8 because he is the only complete ILB in this draft; he has good speed, strength, smart, hardworking, and can play both the pass and the run. Plus his body size is great for an ILB. There was other names being thrown around like Pat Angerer and Micah Johnson and although i like them I feel McClain is less of a risk. Pat Angerer is under-sized at 6 feet and around 230lbs. Yes he could bulk up but what if he doesnt? Micah Johnson has great size, and is fantastic against the run but lacks the speed and agility to keep up in the passing game and everyone knows this is a pass heavy league. We need an instant sure play maker, not more potential players.

Round 2: Jared Veldheer OT, 6'8" 312lbs. (Hillside)

What is not to love. He might be a bit of a reach but he has fantastic size and athleticism actually surpassing Bruce Campbell in everything except for the 40 time and bench pressed two less than Campbell. Veldheer is like the better underrated version of Bruce Campbell. Campbell is way over rated. Now this is potential.

Veldheer :    40 time: 5.06   Bench Press: 32   Vertical: 33.5   Broad jump: 109.0 in.   Shuttle: 4.51   Cone: 7.40

Campbell:    40 time: 4.75    Bench Press: 34   Vertical: 32      Broad jump: 101.0 in.   Shuttle: 4.69   Cone: 7.58

Round 3: Akwasi Owusu-Ansah CB, 6'0" 207lbs. (Indiana)

His potential in being a big time corner not only stands with his smarts and athleticism but also with his name. He was born in Ghana and his first name, Akwasi, means "Born on Sunday". I think that is pretty cool and its ironic how he ended up playing football. Akwasi has great athleticism even though it didn't show in the columbine which people think is due to off-season shoulder surgery. But the greatest thing about him is he is very Nnamdi like. In his Junior season he came up with 10 pass break-ups and 8 interceptions, one being returned for a touchdown. Of course the following year teams stayed away from Akwasi's side and finished with 27 tackles, 4 pass break-ups, and 2 interceptions. He also has great potential in the return game finishing his career with 7 touchdowns, 4 on punts and 3 on kick-off returns. Akwasi has great instincts, great hands, and great open field tackling, plays aggresive and smart, and can help out in the run game. Draft Akwasi.! Get rid of Routt.!

Round 3 (Morrison pick):     Torrell Troup DT, 6'3" 314lbs. (UCF)

This is the answer to our DL problems. Troup will fill our need at DT. I love this guy for several reason. He is a strong and can pick up double teams. He can collapse the pocket and stop the run or sack the QB. What I love about him though is that he has great character. Very very coachable and extremely hard working and will work to being the best he can be. He never gives up during a play constantly pushing to make the play. To shop his dedication in trying to build more stamina in his game and become an every down player he lost 30 pounds at the start of his senior season. See Russel, now thats how you're supposed to lose some real weight. Its called hard work, maybe you should try it.

Round 4: Dan LeFevour QB, 6'3" 230lbs. (Central Michigan)

Oakland has had a series of starters at QB that just haven't worked out since Gannon. There have been rumors of trading for McNabb and Rosenfals making the QB situation more unclear for the Raiders. I say screw both of them and draft this guy. He is a highly underrated QB probably due to playing for a school at the non BCS level. I think drafting QB's in the later rounds are great ideas due to the fact that they need to prove themselves. First and second round QB's are somewhat given the job. Though LeFevour is raw he is also a smart decision maker, not big arm but pretty accurate but even more importantly he is a fierce competitor and will work his ass off. So 1) smart decision maker 2) accurate 3) competative and 4) hardworking! Now thats a recipe for starting QB.

Round 5A: Eric Olsen C, 6'4" 306lbs. (Notre Dame)

C is a bit underrated. We forget that pretty much the entire OL is in question except for Gallery when he is healthy. Eric Olsen is a beast. He is tied for the strongest C in the draft and is probably the meanest. Olsen will not stop till he here's a whistle. Takes good angles on his blocks and is a leader and can take control of the line. He is very tough, been known to play through injury and has played OG on both the left and right positions and could be a great back-up or potential starter at C which he is more suited due to his physical attributes.

Round 5B: Alterraun Verner CB, 5'10" 190lbs. (UCLA)

I believe he will be available this round even though i don't understand why. Yes he doesn't seem to be the Raider size but he has that Raider speed. I think he would be a perfect fit for the slot postion due to his lightning quickness. He makes break on the ball with his incredible instincts and has that play maker ability the defense needs since being ranked close to the bottom if not the bottom in defensive turnovers. Though he is kind of small he is not afraid to help out in run support and make a tackle. But his career stats are impressive alone. 279 career tackles, 56 passes broken up, 13 interceptions and five touchdowns, four from interceptions and one from a blocked field goal. He is also very durable appearing in all 51 games for UCLA the past 4 seasons.

Round 6: John Conner FB, 5'11" 246lbs. (Kentucky)

We need a FB. It seems just cant stay healthy for more than a game and we dont have any good FB. John Conner is a punisher and will take you out if you get in his way. He can also run the ball for those short yards because he is very powerful up the middle. Though he is a traditional blocking FB he does have reliable hands and is quick to secure the ball off the pass.

Round 7: Not really sure.. i would pick the best OG or/and possesion WR...

So that the draft. I think its beautiful but let me know what you think. Enjoy.

Silver And Black Pride DT Suh at 8?!!

Today i was on NFL.com searching some news and stuff and I saw there was a new mock draft by Bucky Brooks (Link). Of course I first check to see who they predict the Raiders to take and to my surprise Suh was still availiable.? what.? yeeeeaaaah right... but then you look at the teams coming before it. Lions, Bucs, Redskins, Chiefs, Seahawks,  and Browns. The only team that could really really use a DT are the Bucs and the Lions BUT they also need an OT.

I mean lets look at the Lions, there defense stank last year and could really use a playmaker on the line but then again the Lions just drafted a QB with the #1 overall pick last year and he was injured for a chunk of the season due to a shoulder injury. As everyone knows this is a QB driven league and they just drafted a QB hoping he will lead the franchise. wouldn't you want to protect your QB by drafting a OT.? they wouldnt want there most valuable player to be further injured.

The Bucs will most likely draft a DT and the rest after that all have good DT's so there isnt really a need to draft one. But they could all use an OT. So Raider fans just imagine... drafting Suh or possibly McCoy. Screw drafting an OT in the first, if they will be available DRAFT THEM.! How does that sound.? a dream come true or what.?

The Bucs will draft McCoy or Suh no doubt but what if the Detroit Lions feel a bigger need at OT the at DT.? The next team that needs a DT will be us.!

Silver And Black Pride 2010 Raiders Mock Draft... pretty please...

This is what I think our 2010 Draft should look like... let me know what you think...

Round 1: Trent Williams OT, Oklahoma

We need a RT and Trent Williams is our best option. He has great instincts and can play the run as well as the pass AND he can play both RT or LT. Many of the other OT can only play LT and we have 2 LT's already competing for the Job, Henderson and Barnes, since he was misplaced at RT. Great athletic ability and great vision and very versitile. The Raiders need that.

Round 2: Brian Price DT, UCLA or Terrance Cody DT, Alabama

I would love to take Price in the second round, not only because i am a UCLA fan but what he can offer. Yes he is a smaller DT but he is very quick and will be the next Warren Sapp. Problem is a lot of mock drafts have him gone at the bottom of the first. That's why i was thinking Cody. He is almost a complete opposite of Price. This is a big ass dude. He will collapse the middle and RB's will not want to come thru there. Not only that but he is a big ass dude.! What does that mean.? More attention. Last year Seymour had a hard time during many games because he was well known so he was double teamed. With more than one disruption at the line will open up Seymour's play a whole lot. Plus he can play NT which many Raider fans including me would like them to switch to a 3-4 defense again.

Round 3: Pat Angerer MLB, Iowa

I believe he will be the better choice to draft in the 3rd because we need an MLB. Angerer is a bit undersized but can still make plays. He is tough and has great instincts. He is also a bit of a leader which is a must at MLB. He isnt easily confused with misderection and trick plays which seems to mess with the defense a lot. He is also a solid open field tackler which has also been a problem and could help us out.

Round 4: Dan LeFevour QB, Central Michigan

Obviously the QB situation in Oakland isnt a very happy one. Thankfully we did re-sign Gradowski an he will be competing for the starting job but is he really our QB for the future.? And of course we have Jamarcus Russell who many consider a big fat BUST. Btw i am no longer a Russell suporter after the Jets game last season but i am really really REALLY hoping he puts down the Twinkie and picks up a freakin football! LeFevour is a good project for the Raiders. 4 year starter and a strong competitor which is definately needed. Very accurate and very smart decision maker which are ALL the qualities Russell lacks right now. He doesnt have a huge arm and his deep ball is kinda wobly which is unraider like but that might actually work in our favor. DHB is a tall and fast WR who can really jump and can probably catch the ball better in the air then off a short route.

Round 5-7: Not really sure

I'd like to draft the best CB, OG, and WR/KR/PR. I was almost thinking of Jacoby Ford who had the fastest 40 time and is short but can be very illusive and can return kicks which our's sucked ass last season but i doubt he'd be availiable in the 5th round.

So thats what i think we need. Tell me what you think.
