At this time of year the term "bandwagon" gets thrown around by everyone. All of the sudden people like Scum a whole lot more. San Jose somehow has the same amount of fans than they did in 1996. And as a Blackhawks fan I'm accused of only cheering for them because they are good.
As a kid I grew up moving around Canada watching the Flames, the Jets, the Habs and every Canadian team. But because of my household I was first and foremost a Leafs fan. An insane one.

(Via TSN) The New York Islanders have placed veteran defenceman Brendan Witt on waivers.

Witt, 34, was activated off injured reserve this week after sitting out most of last month with a knee injury.

Witt has two goals and five points in 42 games this season. If he clears waivers after 24 hours, the club will likely send him to their American Hockey League affiliate in Bridgeport.

With all this talk about the Hawks needing a physical, veteran blueliner Witt is the ultimate deal. If they pick him up off waivers the Hawks will split $3.0 million dollar salary with the Islanders for the rest of the season, with the added bonus that he is a UFA and the end of the year. Much better than wasting Buff or Versteeg on someone like Jay McKee.
