Buffalo Rumblings the Dos Equis of Blogs and the Most Interesting Fans in the World
I don't always blog, but when I do, I blog on Buffalo Rumblings.
I just want to thank all that make this site the Dos Equis of Blogs. I always get my daily fix from BR starting with MRW's compilation of the previous day's articles from other news sources. Then Brian gives us 2-4 articles throughout the day that encourage great discussion and debate from a extremely knowlegdeable and passionate fan base. And then Der Jaeger will throw out a great analytical article every now and then, which are extremely insightful. Many others contribute in one way or another whether it's via Fan Posts, Fan Shots, and the many many comments. And of course a huge shout goes out to our spiritual and emotional leader abayarde.
Right now I can't wipe the smile off my face because of the Mario Williams signing. I like many others here on this site, was a naysayer regarding our even showing any mild interest in wooing him here to Buffalo. I have to give credit to the entire Buffalo organization for going after him so agressively and making it actually happen. WE SIGNED MARIO FREAKING WILLIAMS. I still can't believe that is true. What was truly remarkable about the whole process was the team effort that was involved in getting him here. The private plane trip, the wooing of Mario's fiance, and the input of Kyle Williams and Jim Kelly. Buddy Nix engineered this entire thing and has to be given major props for masterminding it.
I didn't think I would ever say this again but I see a new era dawning for the Bills. Buddy has built the new Bills from the inside out on offense and defense and now he is gathering the final pieces of the puzzle. Mario said it best, "The man doesn't blow smoke.". Many have stated that this is similar to the Reggie White signing by Green Bay, and I would have to agree. There is some serious progress being made by this organization and Buddy Nix has spearheaded it all. He even has his successor all lined up in a bright young man named Doug Whaley. The future looks very promising.
I usually defer to abayarde for the ALL CAPS statements, but GOD IT'S GREAT TO BE A BILLS FAN AGAIN.
In addition, plagiarizing from buffalobacker below, "Stay interesting my friends’.

With the 10th in the 2012 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills pick....
That was a dream I had about two weeks after the BCS Championship game. I quickly dimissed it as being impressed by his efforts in the two Alabama games and forgot about it.
Then Buddy Nix stated "Pass rusher, or defensive end for us, is probably - you get a little nervous with the tenth pick, but in the mid rounds, it's probably as deep as I've seen it," Nix said Thursday. "From the second round on, there will be some guys that can come in and help you quick." This made me realize Buddy will likely go with his history of picking BPA, so this could be anybody he had rated highly. Then I remembered that Dave Waanstedt stated he wants DL that can win the one on ones up front. Can you imagine a DT rotation of Dareus, Williams, Brockers (the end of our run stopping concerns)? But I was still skeptical because all the scouting reports were stating that he's too raw to be taken any higher than the late first round, but they also had him rated as the highest DT and compared him to Richard Seymour and JPP. That was all well and good but how motivated would he be since he was only a redshirt sophomore? Then I saw the buffalobills.com article about how Kyle Williams has been mentoring him for 3 years. Kyle stated: "He wants to learn how to be the best at what he’s doing. That’s a plus. There are a lot of guys in the league that just want to do it so they can have a job and get to play football. But there are only a handful that want to be the best at their craft." Michael himself was quoted as saying, "I can only get better from now on, that’s really my mindset. I can only get better. So I want to push my potential to the next level. Kyle is helping me do that." Michael you had me at "I can only get better....". So fellow Rumblers I ask you is he worth the #10 pick?
Why I'm a Bills fan.
Kudos to LaFemmeNiBuffalo for the extremely touching FanPost Why this season is special for me. I've got to admit it brought a tear to my eye and unfortunately I was unable to post a reply. But it got me to thinking about why I became a Bills fan and I thought it would be a great idea for everyone to share how we all became members of the same club- "Misery loves company"- LOL. So here's my story and you can post yours, also:
Grew up in northern NY (Giants and Orangemen country). I rooted for the LA Rams because they had the cool horns on the helment. Then Larry Csonka (from the Orange) was drafted by the Miami Dolphins and I rooted for them until he left for the WFL. During that time frame I was going to UB and went to a Dolphins-Bills game rooting for Csonk and the gang (I loved how the Bills fans were so passionate for the team). When Csonk bolted for the WFL, I was in limbo for awhile. I didn't become a Bills fan right away because I couldn't stand OJ Simpson since he was from USC and I liked UCLA. Once OJ became a 49er, I jumped on the Bills bandwagon and have been with them ever since. Good times (Chuck Knox and Marv Levy eras) and bad times (Kay Stephenson and the 2000s). Now that it's in my blood I'll never leave.
What's your story?

Shout out to Abayarde
Hey I’m sending out an APB in search of Abayarde as we haven’t heard from him since November 7th.
Here are my Top Ten reasons why I need to hear from him:
10. I have a mild case of the winter doldrums and Winter officially started 12/21- crap. I need some Miami Heat to thaw it out.
9. I’d like to know how his new papoose is doing and how he did in his bike race in Orlando.
8. I’d like to hear how he ragged on his fellow Miami surgeons after the Bills won last Sunday.
7. I need some additions to my vocabulary list ex. Whatagatapitusberry. Just so I can say, “What did he say?”
6. I need to laugh.
5. I need to cry.
4. I need to laugh until I cry.
3. I need to hear if our Buffalo Crusher Godzilla Nation Whagon Blaster Master is still leading us into the den of the evildoers.
2. I need a non-sensical insane upbeat passionate MoTivaTioAL comment on HOW our Beloved Bills are GOING TO crush the NE PATS. So I can run through a brick wall.
The Number One reason that I need to hear from Abayarde is after the jump:

Here comes the Sun
Looks like the clouds are melting away into the horizon and bright days are ahead.
After watching Stevie Johnson's Wednesday presser, reading Brian Baldinger article , and observing the current man crush on Kyle Williams, I can't help but believe it's a great time to be a Bills fan. We are starting to look a lot like the Bills in the late 80s just prior to the "Glory Years". I've always been a "the cup's half full" kind of a guy, but I truly believe the new regime is headed in the right direction. I think we are only a stud pass rushing linebacker away from being a playoff team. Of course if Luck fell into our lap I wouldn't be overly upset. But the LB position seems to be our only Achilles heel right now along with depth. We may already have the depth on the roster. If Coleman, Carrington, Wang, Easley, Batten, and Moats continue to develop next season we could be serious contenders to make some noise in next year's playoffs.
And with due respect to Abayarde (he's one year ahead of time):
Whatagatapitusberry. Did u like my strawberry come and get some spagetti. And. I will crush you like a mascaracachimibi. I am craking up guys. Just left the hospitals you the BR are the freaking best. Godzilla nation demolition Kruger Crushers. Smack down fans in the N.F.L. And. You can take that to the bank . This is our year one hand when u close it it becomes the. Fist of Fury We stand as one. And nobody can move us. BuYAaaaaaaaaaa
This is not a Mock Draft...
Pardon the interruption but I'm getting a little tired of waiting for the draft so I thought I'd broach a different subject.
Every since Brian's article http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/4/7/1408458/buffalo-rumblings-turns-3-years-old I've been wanting to see how much time fellow Rumblers spend on this site. This would kind of be a follow-up to my fan post http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2009/7/21/957103/what-was-your-favorite-bills of nine months ago.
After re-reading that old fanpost I recognized that most of you are still regular visitors to the site, so I thought it would be interesting to see how much time everyone spends here.
More on CJ Spiller.....
Yesterday's article on CJ Spiller by Brian met with some resistance from those who cling to the belief that we must absolutely draft a LT in the first round of this 2010 NFL Draft. I respectfully disagree and I believe we should take the BPA no matter the position. If CJ is the guy so be it. If Nix, Gailey and crew believe the best pick is Jimmy Clausen, grab him. I am steadfast against taking the 4th best OT just because it is a position of need. The only way to become an elite team is to get elite players: such as Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, Cornelius Bennett etc. You don't choose an above average player when an elite player is available. As evidence that this is successful take a look at kaisertown's excellent article: Don't expect O-Line to be huge priority in Buffalo. As kaiser so successfully proves, an offensive line can be created without consisting of all top draft picks. As a result I stand by the belief that we take the BPA. I wouldn't argue against CJ Spiller. With any luck he could be the next LT.
Fastest way out
I will be attending Sunday's game against the Saints. Since I'm coming from the Binghamton area for a 4 PM game, I need to know a quick way out of the parking near the Ralph so that I can get home at a decent hour. We usually go to one game a year and park in the Sequoia lot. It's always a good time tailgating there but it's at least a 45 minute wait to get onto Southwestern Boulevard for our getaway. I'm open to any suggestions that allow a quick almost instantaneous exit. We usually take the Thruway and enter the parking lot from Abbott Rd, but I'm willing to come in on 20A if we can get a faster start home. I appreciate the tips and Go Bills!!!!!
PS
I may be way off base, but I have a real good feeling about the chances for the Bills winning this one. Defense has to come up big, especially on third downs.
What was your favorite Bills website before Rumblings?
Just curious to know what site everyone visited prior to finding Rumblings. I started with the official site, then TwoBillsDrive, then RF365, and finally here. As I've stated several times in my replies I find this site to have the most depth and maturity of any site out there. We have plenty of differing opinions that are well articulated and defended.
I'd be interested in at least knowing your last favorite site. Of course, I'm assuming that this is now your favorite site.
Nic Harris
Another Character guy. The more I read about all of these draft picks the more I get excited about this upcoming season. Let's hope all the positive energy flowing from this "successful draft" transfers to the playing field. It's been a long time coming.
