Aside from the Moose comments, I don't find this piece too far off
Getting the low lights for playing the bobs, the grantland writer mostly gets it right on his criticisms of the team. I can't agree with him saying moose and knight are in the same boat, though. Referencing Langolis is great, though, because the kool-aid is strong with him.
Interesting write up on Boogie and J Wall
I like the analysis, but the comparison to Moose was what I was looking for, and I enjoyed seeing this:
"For chrissake, Greg Monroe, drafted two spots behind Cousins, has half the ability and has turned himself into one of the NBA's best young big men."
correction, THE best young big man in the game.

Red Pandas for all. A good interview with Kuester
I still think Q is a stand up guy, but not necessarily a good head coach. It's nice to hear him be on good terms with most everyone from such a bad situation. Do think it's curious that there's no mention of Jod, though.
Houston is smart
Guess we were allergic to signing players to multi year contracts. Wait. What? Dalembert on a 2 year contract (probably on the cheap) seems like a great move for a team in transition. Wish we made moves like this.
And boom goes the season
Who likes college hoops??
Say it ain't so, Ben!
Looks like this is what happens when Ben isn't "Going to Work" anymore. Also, hope he doesn't start dying his hair and dating Madonna now. We'll, he can date Madonna i guess.
Pistons round table lead by the blind
So, espn has been taking on each team with a five person round table, and it seems they ran out of people when it came time to discuss the stones. You could make a drinking game out of how many times people make mistakes about the current team (summers is gone, tay's a fa, etc.)
Update: After my initial post, they edited the shit out of the article, taking out all the fun drinking rules mistakes. Still think they could've had much better reading grabbing 5 dbb'ers emails out of a hat.

Hot Franks!
formally introduced, everyone meet our new coach, Lawerance "the pit bull" Frank.
Awesome video with shot of high school sheed at the end
Found this on grantland, but figured the stackhouse and sheed clips would look good over here. Ball don't lie at the 2:08 mark.
Dave Berri breaks down each player and teams value
Pretty cool chart where he presents each teams roster from best to worst in terms of value for their contracts. Not surprising, rip and bg end up on the worst performer list, and Moose rates on the best performer list.
I found this link over on true hoop, so hat tip to Henry Abbot for the link.
Funniest shit on the internets
Hiring Isiah Thomas would be like un-tilting Gores head. Crazy.
Marc Gasol, anyone?
With Z-bo signing a big contract, and conley and gay already on the books, Gasol would seem more available now. He would look real good next to Moose and JJ on the front line. Maye a 4 for 44 mil. would scare off the Grizz?
Bill simmons, more hate, even less knowledge
Blog piece w/him and his butt buddy house, talking over/unders for projected wins for each team. Stones are at 21 minute mark, and probably 5th from the bottom for wins projected. The BEST part, they both hate on us for drafting Ed Davis. Ed Davis. Right. You guys get paid for this and can't even get the draft pick right?
John Starks in a Stones uni?
I never liked him too much, cept for that crazy dunk on against the Bulls, but something tells me he woulda been a perfect Piston.
DARKO!!!!!
You sneaky serb. just when we thought you were taking your highlights back to europe. The nba just can't quit you darko.
Who would you cut?
So, I've been thinking about how we're pretty hemmed in by some gaudy contracts, and in another thread the topic came up about how the league could change the rules for contracts to more closely resemble the NFL. Let's pretend that the new CBA were implemented this summer, and the owners got what their NFL counterparts have: Non-guaranteed contracts. What would you do as pistons GM? For all the hate on this team after a disappointing season, would you fire everyone and start from scratch? Full youth movement and drop RIP and Tay? Something similar come up a few years ago with the "Allen Houston Rule" and provided for each team to drop one contract, and they all fell over themselves trying to get rid of their mistakes. How would you reshape our roster? With a scalpel, or a machete?
Pistons hire Citigroup to figure team's value for sale
Not that this is a surprise, but it's getting more real with this.

Draft Evaluations: Donatas Motiejunas
Ok, so i'm not nearly as ambitious as some of the other members here have been in doing thorough research, but in the spirit of getting to know our (potential) future pistons, I'm including this link I found at True Hoop. It's from a site called ballineurope, and has some generally nice things to say about Montiejunas. Unfortunately for me and many other DBB faithful, most of these compliments sound eerily similar to a certain Mr. Milicic. Read for your self.

Could Chris Paul be available?
I'm not basing this off of any rumors or articles, just from seeing Darren Collison play. To this point, NO has been a team that several DBB'ers have suggested trades with, almost always trying to pry away Okafor. After Paul's latest injury, Collison has more then proved to be a capable replacement, and in a cash strapped market like NO, I could see them considering a trade for the right pieces. Lets say we put together a package for Paul, containing this years pick, Tay (expiring contract), CV (for salary purposes) and Jarebko (promising young player) . In return, we take back Paul, Posey, and Wright.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfy5hac
I don't like this scenario the best, but it's the only fit I came up with using the trade machine on this years salaries. It would give them 1 more year paying CV then they would Posey, but would clear cap space for next summer and give them 2 young talents. I think if we offered this years pick/tay/Stuck for Paul it would be a better fit for them. I'll admit I'm not very good at this, but I do think that Collison's recent play could have NO thinking about changing up their roster. They're past the point of contention, and will surely need to revamp their roster and get under the cap. I would LOVE to have CP3 on our team. Is there any other trades/scenario's that someone could suggest that would fit better?
Update: Marc Stein addresses the subject of the post (in general, not specifically), and essentially says that there's a better chance of collison being moved before Paul. Here what he said in the weekend dime at espn.
You can smell the wishful thinking from here.
Darren Collison is putting up huge numbers as Chris Paul's fill-in (see below), which naturally prompts teams around the league to dream that Hornets owner George Shinn -- once he realizes that he's paying just $1.3 million to Collison this season compared with $13.5 million for Paul -- will consent to trading CP3 this offseason.
Don't count on it.
Back on Christmas we ran through some of the reasons why the Hornets, even when they were over the luxury-tax threshold earlier this season, wouldn't even consider the prospect of trading Paul. One source with knowledge of the Hornets' thinking reiterated this week that nothing has changed since then, especially since the Hornets are now under the tax line and suddenly have two promising young assets besides Paul: Collison and fellow rookie Marcus Thornton.
Paul's future will remain a popular topic because of his ability to become a free agent in the summer of 2012 and the Hornets' standing as a .500 team. But given his immense profile in New Orleans and the fact that Paul almost exclusively makes basketball viable in Saints territory, it seems far more likely that the Hornets would try to move Collison to fill another need.
Not that you'll get any such hints from Jeff Bower. The Hornets' coach/general manager insists that Paul and Collison can and will play together -- no matter how much Paul is used to having the ball -- when his All-Star returns from knee surgery to try to nudge New Orleans into the playoffs.
"I see two guys that have the same makeup," Bower said. "They play the game with the same mentality. They measure everything they do based on winning and how the team is doing.
"I'm excited to see them together. I do think they can [function in the same backcourt]. Not the whole game, of course, but I think they can play together and Chris can be a dynamic scorer off the ball. And Marcus Thornton can be a dynamic scorer with them."
Tom wilson leaves palace ent.
Not sure if this is the first domino in a sale, but Wilson has been a part of the stones as long as i could remember. Good luck, Tom.
Won't Cox??
Inserting wilcox into the starting lineup seems like a good choice, give that jj and max have both been underwhelming at pf, but i'm not sure if this is going to speed us up as stuck was talking about the other day. We'll see. Can't be worse then 0-12.
Simmons for Pistons GM
So trade Tay for the poo poo platter? At least he gives JJ some love
