With the 42nd Pick in the NFL Draft The Oakland Raiders....

What do the Oakland Raiders do with their 2nd round pick after making the trade to the Dolphins that landed the newest Oakland Raider CB D.J. Hayden out of Houston, a shocker in my opinion but quote on quote Tough SoB that Reggie MacKenzie has called him.

Now back to topic, what do the raiders do with the 42nd pick: Here are my options

Jessie Williams, DT Alabama (Previously Kyle Long but taken by Chicago with the 20th pick)

Williams is the 5th ranked DT in the national football post, since we passed up on floyd and lotulelei a DT is still what we need, Williams was part of the championship team this year but wasnt very lights out from what ive seen, but i think good things can come our way if we take him

Manti Te'o, LB Notre Dame

Sure his downfall came in the BCS title game, and showed flaws in his game, his 40 time was a big problem to some, but his leadership was never in doubt. People say he will go in the late 1st round however, if he drops to the 2nd round, i think he is a steal and can be used as our defensive anchor if one of our FA LB's dont work out.

Tyrann Mathieu, CB LSU

One piece of our DB puzzle is there with Hayden, now Hayden and the Honey Badger together, we could be looking at a deadly combination if it works out. Sure the honey badger does have attitude and some legal problems, but i see the fire and passion in his eyes to be one of the best, and we could always use a player that brings the drive and energy we need.

Gavin Escobar, TE San Diego State (Previously Tyler Eifert, but was taken by the 21st Pick to Cincinnati)

With Eifert gone i had to look up who else would be good, i took a look at Escobar, the number 2 ranked TE in the National Football Post, took a look at his stats and he is a decent TE, not a Eifert but i still feel he is better than our two TE's we have right now.

Josh Evans, FS Florida

I think Evans is a diamond in the rough player from Florida. He is the 4th ranked FS on yahoo and the 1st and 3rd bests were taken, theres Johnathan Crypien still available but i think Evans can bring something to the table that we need out of florida.
Well these are my 5 options available as of now, we will see how the draft plays out, leave a comment on what you'd like to see happen C-Ram Out

Good Idea/Bad Idea?: Should the Raiders Target Harrison?

The Steelers released nine year veteran RLB James Harrison the other day, so that they can clear some cap room space, due to the fact that the two could not agree on a contract. Now we might not be able to make this move due to cap room but if the stars align and some crazy thing goes down, i think this move could dramatically change the outlook on the Raiders LB core in a good way.

Everyone from other fans to analysts to even non-football fans could see, that one of the Raiders key problems was the LB core, sure we had explosive plays from Rookie LB Miles Burris and FA beast, the Predator, Phillip Wheeler. However it was our MLB where we suffered the most, thanks to RoLame-O McCrap, his attitude was not helpful this year and it showed on the field, proving that he was the weak link of the three, and now can be considered another Raider 1st round bust. When we brought in Gaither, he immediately helped shape our defense in a excellent way, only coming in as a FA, but i do not feel he is a long time solution, so now going back to Harrison. Harrison is a proven veteran who is feared through out the league, and his leadership rivals Ray Lewis's. He is smart on the field and a proven defensive leader, that we need seeing that most of our leaders this past season did not do anything, that's right i'm calling you out Seymour. (not really i was just using that to add meaning to my post don't kill me).

Harrison's Career has not been the same since his stellar 10-11 season, but that can change, he has the game changing ability we need on the field, to pick things up a notch. This years stats are not as well as both Burris's and Wheeler's stats but he still was consistent and that is what the raiders need right now: Consistency. More importantly, he brings to the field a fire that cannot be put out, an intensity that can spark the demon hidden in this defense, and can help bring back the fear that the raiders defense once known around the league.

But as i said this is just my speculation and theory, but i can see this move being a great benefit to the raiders.

Over this past season, one thing stood out to me after finishing my recordings of the game: Inconsistant Conerbacks.

Over this past season, one thing stood out to me after finishing my recordings of the game: Inconsistant Conerbacks.

Thats why i like the idea of drafting Alabama DB Dee Milliner at the No.3 spot in the 1st round. Why you say when Star Lotulelei could still be on the table? Look at our CB's this year, we were destroyied when it came to our CB's. We were so banged up that Huff had to move over and make plays. After watching some clips of Milliner over the season i think he can be a diamond in the rough pick at no.3, some say it could be a reach, but as of right now he is the best CB in the draft. Comparing our Int's with the rest of the league the top team had more than double our teams INT's but we were not the lowest, but we got burned alot when it came to big plays, Milliner has the shutdown corner ability in him and has the drive and the ability to stop big plays, and he is a deep cover threat. this is just my opinion right now, it can change in the future and im sorry for the short post im low on time right now lol

-Weak Coverages/CB's: This is easily seen from all of our games. 3 out of our 4 games, we had horrible coverage against opposing TE's. Gates, Miller, and both Tamme and Dreessen torched out LB's and secondary when they had the chance. Sure todays game was all manning, his passes were pitch perfect, and the ones that looked shakey, the WR's and TE's made great catches. And dont get me started about WR's we all saw what Heartline did to us week 2. Sure our CB's our banged up, im not using that as a excuse but its situations like this that should perk up our other CB's to show up and prove that they are worth their starting position.

-Offensive Struggles: I believe that one of our main problems is our inconsistant offense. I dont really care for this zone blocking scheme, and the west coast offense doesnt seem to fit this team. Im sure Reggie Mackenzie had a reason to hire Knapp as our OC, but i feel he is the source of this inconsistancy, i would of much rather kept Saunders as our OC. Im surprised to say this but Palmer has been playing well for the past few games, sure 2 INT's is not good, but he is still making crisp passes when we need it, Darren McFadden however has been coming and going. We need him to have his breakout game to show that hes one of the best in the league.

-Defensive Fatigue: Our defense seems to be constantly fatigued come 2nd half, and i this ties into the weak coverages. We do have a huge amount of mileage on our defensive line with Seymore and Kelly, they are our two monsters that dominate the front but when they are out for a long period of time, it shows. If we can get them more rested, they can play better on the field, and lead our defense when we need it, it seems when our defense faulters its lack of confidence or leadership to get players to wake up.

-Rookie Coaching: This isnt really a problem but if things can go wrong it can be, so far ive liked how Dennis Allen has coached our team, im not 100% sure if hes making the defensive calls, but for now i do like his potential and has made some good challenges and progress with the team. Tarver however i think is a diamond in the rough but his defensive management isnt showing it. They call him the mad chemist cause he creates new things, ok well if he comes up with new blitz or coverage schemes that in theory should work, why do we have alot of yards against us, this also ties in to Weak coverage.

Im not a professional at this, im just a fan watching the games from home or at the stadium for being first time season ticket holders, but this is what i feel is the problem so far for our raiders, its early in the season though, we got a bye week hopefully things can turn around, i have faith in our raiders.

Vikings Definitely Looking To Trade No.3 Pick in The Draft This Year

Watching ESPN today, the ESPN Bottom Bar reported that Vikings GM Rick Spielman says team "Definitely" is looking to trade No.3 Pick in the upcoming draft.

Now then, could this be a option for the Raiders to look at within the next few weeks? The Raiders will not have a Pick until the 5th round if memory serves however the Raiders could recieve Comp. Picks starting from the 3rd round due to Free Agency but i am not 100% sure if the Raiders will recieve them.

Now then for the Raiders to make this move we would have to make a BIG trade, to the Vikings, Possibly involving a future High Pick, and maybe a good player.

If the Raiders were to make this move we could probably end up getting one of the following in order of what the Raiders could still benifit from:

Robert Griffin III - QB Baylor

RG3 is a phenominal College QB in my opinion and i would not be surprized if the colts draft him over Andrew Luck, however Luck seems to be the most obvious choice for the Colts so, in the case the Colts do draft Luck, i think it would be stupid if the Raiders have the chance to get RG3. We still have Pryor, and apparently still Campbell but he is on the FA market, and Palmer going to be the definate starter going into next season. If the opprotunity to get RG3 shows itself, we could end up trading Pryor for a pick in next years draft.

Morris Claiborne- CB LSU

Since we decided to cut Stanford Routt, which im still 50/50 about but my opinion has no value in it, we are left with Chris Johnson, Lito sheppard, Bryan McCann, Demarcus Van Dyke, Chimdi Chekwa, Brandon Underwood, Terrail Lambert. Johnson was plagued last season with injuries, and he also had that horrible event with his family which i hope is doing well now, Sheppard is old veteran who can help develop younger players, McCann is definitely a Special Teams player who should help Ford out with the ST role, so we can utilize Ford's speed in the wide out position. Van Dyke, Chekwa, Lambert and Underwood are all either younger players with less experience or do not have our CB system on lock yet. Personally if we do make the move to get Claiborne i can see Claiborne and either Johnson/Underwood be our starters for next season.

Justin Blackmon - WR Oklahoma St.

Blackmon is the top WR in the draft this year, however i see him going with the 2nd pick to the Rams if they were to lose Brandon Lloyd. Now our recievers this year were injury prone, Ford went out early, alowing Denarious "All that and" Moore stepping up and proving himself to be our big play reciever. Murphy was injury prone too and lost game time because of it, Schilens has been mediocre since we drafted him again injury prone and such. T.J. Houshmanzada or whos your mamma was just a minor inside threat, and i dont see him in the league very long, DHB had great year this year and i see him going much further with Palmer 100% with the system now. With the additon of Blackmon the Raiders will have another Threat in the Wide Out area, with DHB, All that and Moore, and Blackmon in a 3 Wide Out set, it will make safeties and CB's Confused on who to double, knowing that all are huge playmakers and dangerous if left unproperly covered, plus it is a added boost to our running game if you look at it. All of the safties and CB's will be focusing on Pass, Fake the pass and hit em with draw play with DMC and gain a first down.

In the end this is just my opinion, it would be a great fantasy to see this come true but who knows what Reggie and Dennis have in mind for this year. I'll have a pole on the bottom for people can vote on to see their choices and opinions, and feel free to bash me on what i posted, im not a regular here so i dont mind critizism

Jag's Cut Garrard: Oaklands Blessing in Disguise?

To some Garrard is considered a Second Rate Quarterback, but theres always a possibility that he can be a teams diamond in the rough, therefore the question has to be asked: Can Garrard Be a Asset to the Oakland Raiders if and only IF, the Jason Campbell/Terrell Pryor Experiment Does not work. For Those Who Dont Know Garrard is a 4th round (10th pick) by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2002 and has been in the league longer than Campbell and Boller by a marigin of 1-3 years. Personally i believe Garrard may be a better QB Stat Wise than Jason Campbell but what separates Campbell from Garrard is that we the fans know already that he is a true leader worthy of being a offensive captian, that he has proven throughout the lockout and offseason. With Terrell Pryor, he has alot of potential in him,and maybe Garrard can help Pryor blossom into a future Franchise QB. However the same can be said with Campbell and Boller, both with good amount of starting experience and the veteran quality this team needs. But as of right now the QB position is still one position our beloved raiders still needs to work on, and we always seem to have our hearts in the right place but our minds elsewhere we all know how the "he who shall not be named" experiement went for the past few years, and since then we have been very delicate with who we get as our QB, but once again there always those like me who have to ask these questions? Can David Garrard be the Raiders Diamond in the Rough?

from what i have read, the bills released 10 Year Veteran Marcus Stroud from their roster after failing to convert to a 3-4 defense.

now then here comes one of my crazy what if's posts about it, should the raiders take a chance on Stroud?

he averaged 3.0 sacks last year which isnt very bright, only because of the ongoing transition to a 3-4 defense. We the raiders of course are currently running a 4-3 defense and we may have a good use for him but then again our Defensive line has been quite well this year im not sure yet if this is a pickup we need.

Free Agent Priorities: Cornerback

with the free agency going on im looking at all the names we got and ranked them to what i think we need to work on getting, though knowing al davis, he might just shoot us in the foot again, today im starting with the Cornerbacks
this is what possibilities i can see us going with even though its just a possibility i hope it can happen

No.1 Raider Free Agent possibly the biggest free agent at the moment: Nnamdi Asomugha

Definately a no brainer, we need Asomugha back, or else we will be picked apart in the secondary, and looking at this past year, the other half of our secondary let alot of big passing plays go through. C.J. had constant P.I calls which most of it looked like mularkey but it seems like the ref's dont like the way we play close man to man coverage sometimes. We need to resign him fast and probably pick up another CB if needed.
Our current list of CB's are the following and my ratings 10 being the best 1 the worst:

LCB Nnamdi 10/10: what else is there to say

LCB Walter McFadden 3/10: walter let alot of big plays get past him and alot of really bad calls, hes a rookie still i know but if he keeps improving he might just might have potential.

RCB Stanford Routt 7/10: Routt is decent but not good im pretty sure he can be replaced for someone else

RCB Chris Johnson 6/10: just bout the same as Routt, he also got alot of bad calls on him

RCB Jermey Ware 4.5/10: he has alot of potential he did get a key interception against KC so give him time, i think he can be dangerous

Possible Free Agent Pickups: Antonio Cromartie NYJ: IF and IF we can get cromartie for a good deal, i think we should put him at RCB with nnadmi at LCB and we will be definately feared, it would be nice if Revis was available but Revis wants monaaaay we can probably get Cromartie at a decent price. Bailey is good but how many years does he have left.

Possible Draft Pickups: Bradon Harris CB Miami(FL), Jimmy Smith CB Colorado, Curtis Brown CB Texas: now for sure we know Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukurama will be taken within the top 10 picks in the draft, we wont get a pick until the 2nd round, if the raiders decide to go CB this round most likely it will be Jimmy Smith due to his speed, Harris seems to be a overall kind of player but know al davis speed is his philosophy, i have Curtis Brown available for us because he is a hard hitter, if we can pick him up too, he would be a excellent player if we do mutliple corner blitz's
