ESPN Post Spring Top 25: Florida State #3.

Florida drops to #24. Miami/ UCF/USF unranked. Quick points: The Seminoles might also [be starting to reap] the rewards of back-to-back nationally ranked recruiting classes. FSU's conference schedule is favorable -- it doesn't play Georgia Tech, North Carolina or Virginia Tech during the regular season -- and a Sept. 17 home game against Oklahoma might determine whether it's a legitimate BCS title contender.

Russell Auburn?

Wilson has been contacted by multiple unidentified SEC schools and hopes to play for a BCS automatic qualifying team outside the ACC, the source said. Among the SEC schools that could be interested in a transfer quarterback are South Carolina and Auburn.

Former UF reciever, Chris Dunkley, may be headed to USF

How does this affect FSU? He would be eligible to play next season...when the Noles play the Bulls at Raymond James (aka the Mons Venus Bowl).

ESPN College Football Live Top 25 : Florida State # 6

Gators #23 Miami Unranked. Jesse Palmer - With the Noles returning 18 starters, winning the ACC Atlantic, beating the SEC East Champs, and knocking off the Gators for the first time in 6 years, expectations are running high in Tallahassee. It aired this morning so the twitter feed is the best I could find. Scroll to the bottom to see the tweet by @ESPNCFBLive

Hog Town already fearing E.J. "The Man"uel

Premium content, but the first free post should be a clear indicator how good this one was: Paula (Gainesville): What makes you so confident FSU can be a BCS title contender with an unproven QB like EJ Manuel? Haven't we been down this road before with Chris Rix, Xavier Lee and Fabian Walker?

UCF to join the Big East over Villanova?

Adding Villanova to the football mix never seemed to make much sense because that would do nothing to enhance its reputation. And the Big East needs all the help it can get in that department, beyond adding TCU for 2012. Featuring a school [ like Villanova]that has a small fan base and would be playing in an off-campus soccer stadium clearly started giving some of the Big East presidents second thoughts. If UCF joins a BCS A-Q, would it have a serious impact on FSU recruiting?

Christian Ponder scores 35 on the Wonderlic Test

Article talks about Cam Newton scoring a 21 but mentions CP7 briefly. Highest was Alabama's McElroy's 43. From Wikipedia, scores and correlating professions are: Chemist – 31 Programmer – 29 Journalist – 26 Sales – 24 Bank teller – 22 Clerical worker – 21 Security guard – 17 Warehouse – 14

Nick O'Leary caddied for Grandfather, Jack Nicklaus, during the Masters

Link is from the Lost Lettermen. Good to see the kid having fun before he enrolls. Plus, its the MASTERS!!! From "the other website" FSU signee Nick O'Leary (the nation's No. 1 tight end prospect for the 2011 class) caddied for his grandfather, Jack Nicklaus, for the par-3 tournament at The Masters on Wednesday. O'Leary took a swing himself on the ninth hole, got the ball over a large body of water but it landed left of the green.

Stephen Garcia suspended indefinitely

The former Tampa Jefferson star may have pissed off the Ole Ball Coach for the last time. So glad we didn't recruit this kid as hard as USF, Florida, Auburn and USCe.

2011 ESPN College Football Schedule

Includes Virgina Tech, South Carolina, and FSU Spring games.

Backup LB Gibson, 2 others leaving Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer said starting backup (he was passed up) linebacker Lyndell Gibson, flanker Austin Fuller and cornerback Jacob Sykes are transferring at the end of the semester.

Rivals' FSU Spring Practice Preview

Position of Strength: CB, RB, DL Positions of Need: OL, QB (referring to backups) Players to Watch: Jacob Fahrenkrug, Christian Jones, EJ Manuel

Rivlas: Mario Edwards officially named a Five Star recruit

Why he's a five-star: "Mario Edwards has the rare body type that will allow him to play either defensive end position at the next level. He is quick off the ball and strong enough to take on a tackle and tight end in the running game. He could end up having the impact similar to Da'Quan Bowers for Clemson." - Barry Every, Hear it! Fear it! Spear it! GO NOLES ~~~>>----------------;;-->

Georgia committed NCAA violations in recruiting Ray Drew

The school sent a letter to the Southeastern Conference saying that two former football players attended a Jan. 28 news conference in which Drew announced his commitment to Georgia, a violation of five NCAA bylaws relating to illegal contract before signing a letter-of-intent. While the ex-players aren't named in the letter, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other news outlets reported and photographed Randall Godfrey and David Pollack attending Drew's news conference at Thomas County Central High School.

Wake Forest Defensive Coordinator resigns; named new head coach of Charlottee

Wake Forest defensive coordinator Brad Lambert is leaving the program to become the first head coach at Charlotte, a source confirmed Monday. Can't help to get Golden Spiked ("shutout") by the Noles last year with a D that gave up 31 points in the process. Merril Noel is the only former recruit of ours I remember Wake getting. Jim Gobe's days may be coming to an end.

Miami AD Hocutt leaving Canes to head to Texas Tech

Kirby Hocutt resigned as Miami's athletic director to take the same job at Texas Tech, barely two months after hiring a new football coach and speaking about his desire to see the Hurricanes chase national prominence in all sports. Shalala is the biggest problem for the football team; but perhaps the Canes will now be able to get an AD who really is dedicated to getting the team back to par. Some possible candidates include Florida Atlantic's Craig Angelos and Western Kentucky's Ross Bjork, who was Miami's associate athletic director for external operations from 2003 through 2005.

Robert Marve 2.0?: Tate Forcier may be headed to Miami

The real story is from Cane Times saying he is likely to go to UM, but that's premium content. The link is to the USA Today story which also talks about Forcier highly considering the Canes over Washington and Arizona. Remember: at one time Forcier said he would even go to FAMU to play again. Anyway, this will throw a wrench in the Savage transfer decision. But, if he does go to UM he can look forward to two years of calling Werner, Carradine, and Jenkins sir.

Mom forges son's LOI signature to attend Ole Miss

Pretty hilarious story really. But no sign of foul play. Son told Mom he wanted to go to Ole Miss but was not home to sign the LOI himself. He ended up changing his mind to attend Texas A&M but never told his Mom; so she forged his signature on the LOI to Ole Miss thinking she was doing him a favor. Since its a forged signature, the LOI to Ole Miss is void.

FSU '95 Recruiting Class voted #10 Greatest of All Time

Sports Illustrated vote the '95 recruiting class as one of the greatest of all time. Obviously, Peter Warrick was in the class out of Bradenton, but who else was in that class? Wonder where our 2011 class will rank...

Rusell Wilson to return to NC State?!?!

Sources close to Rusell Wilson said after he decided to not enter the NFL Draft on Saturday, he is now leaving open the possibility of returning for his final year of eligibility as a Wolfpack Quarterback. With only Maryland being the team to challenge FSU for the Atlantic Division title, if Wilson returned it would add another program for the Noles to worry about. Let's hope he doesn't

Palm Beach Post: Jacoby Brissett still likes 'Noles and is just considering all options

Matt Porter from the Palm Beach Post is refuting the report by ESPN 760 from earlier today. Earlier report: Brisset "souring" on Noles and Tigers; will meet with Charlie Weis Friday ESPN 760 (West Palm Beach) is reporting UF OC Charlie Weis will meet with Jacoby Brisset Friday now that Brisset is "souring" on FSU and LSU. Also, James Coley will visit Brissett on Friday.

3rd string pick: Brady Hoke named new head coach at Michigan

After not getting #1 choice Harbaugh, and #2 Miles, the Wolverines got their #3 choice in Brady Hoke to come resurrect the Big House. The former Michigan assitant built Ball State into being relevant for a few years and was named the Mountain West's coach of the year after leading San Diego State to a 9-4 record. Recruiting Impact? Will Dee Hart recommit? I could at least see some Ohio St recruits heading to the Michigan

Despite early-round projection, Jenkins returning to UF

Will Muschamp got what Will Muschamp wanted. Jenkis is coming back to Alachua Tech. Read this: Muschamp: "But with our contacts in the NFL, we were able to assist him in understanding his draft status and he made an educated decision that will be beneficial to him in the long term." I.E. The CBA may cause a strike so even if you are a first rounder, there may not be a league to play in. Let's rise to gradulate de Gatas fo gittn Genoriss Jankeens back tu Gainesvull.

Recruits opinons of the Recruiting Process.

ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski interviewed recuits during the Under Armour All American practices and asked some about their opinions of the recruiting process. Some good comments here. Notably: • "One prime example is when a recruiter comes in and starts to rag on other schools and other conferences. After I narrowed my finalists down to four or five programs, I went down to visit a school and their coaches picked through each school I was considering. That bothered me. I felt like that wasn't a classy thing to do." (coughNotreDamecough)

Low Tide: Mark Ingram, Julio Jones and Marcellus Dareus declare for NFL Draft

If FSU were to make a national title run next year, I would have pick us to play Bama in the Sugar Bowl. But now, I have no clue (especially with Ohio State being screwed for the first 6 games). SEC West will be wide open next year with this, Mallet leaving Arkansas and LSU returning a mediocre team. Mississippi St may take the West?

Jim Harbaugh to take over the San Fransico 49ers
