I recently posted about David and his comparisons to another Husker LB, Demorrio Williams. This is a pretty good breakdown of David and I think he will have a good NFL career. I am not saying he should be the 32nd pick of the draft, but I would trust JR if he drafted David.

Sounds like this is a huge pick-up, but I heard little doubt about his commitment. Cannot argue with a legacy 4-star, in-state LB!

Anyone heard word on Mike Minter's kid?

Big Blue View The Line Between Need and BPA

I want to start a discussion of need vs. Best Player Available (BPA). Reading the comments for the past few weeks, I have seen much confusion regarding the two ideas. There are definite "needs" on this team, but we all know when it comes to the draft, Reese usually will take the player that is "best available". Looking at the past 3 drafts, the first round picks have been Nicks, JPP, and Prince. One could make the argument that Nicks fit both the need category and best player available. JPP and Prince are the two best examples of BPA, as we already had some good depth at the positions they play, but JR will not turn down talent. As was shown with Prince, once you pick a player with the mindset of BPA, he can quickly turn into a need. This was demonstrated when we had a rash of injuries to our CBs. The drafting of JPP had a lot of us scratching our head at the time, because here is an athletically gifted, but raw prospect, at a crowded position. As we have come to see, JR was brilliant in picking the BPA.

I knew Willis was good vs. lefties, but I did not know he held lefties to a BA of .127 with a .369 OPS. Didn't the Mets covet Willis last year? Or was it 2 years ago?

Big Blue View If I were Jerry Reese...

I would be banging my head against the wall and thinking to myself, "What can be done today to salvage this season?" Let's face it everyone, this season is on life support. It is sitting on a ventilator, pumped full of sedatives, and wasting away. Reese needs to be the doctor that comes in and does something to bring it back to life, cause the coaches clearly cannot.

Big Blue View Where we stand...

Unfortunately, my very first SBnation fanpost has to come at a time like this. The Eagles loss definitely hurts our chances at winning the division and securing a wild card spot. I want to take a look at the standings and see where we stand right now...
