Skittles...taste Dwayne Bowe

Dwayne Bowe his last 3 games - 32 receptions 465 yards 7 touchdowns The Dwayne Bowe we've all been waiting for has arrived. If he catches that touchdown pass in Indy he has 15 touchdowns...for 12 weeks that is solid production. Granted, his drop in Oakland cost us the chance to run out of the clock and potentially win. Even with those two big drops, you can see Todd Haley is helping Dwayne Bowe turn into an elite talent.

Beat writer Phil Wilson believes Pierre Garcon (hamstring) has a good chance to return to game action against the Chiefs this week.

Garcon has the word on authority from an unnamed Colts source, so there's more than just speculation at work here. Garcon would square off against the Chiefs this week, a defense surrendering the 16th-most fantasy points to opposing receivers.

Good article. Don't know if that was posted already, if it was, jokes on me but were 3-0 and I don't care. :)

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune predicts that Shawne Merriman (Achilles) will not play on Monday Night Football.

Merriman, who only could do individual drills Wednesday, is likely to go through pre-game warmups before Chargers-Chiefs, with a determination made by the coaching staff based on how he looks. Merriman's status does not impact the Chargers' fantasy defense. He has four sacks since 2008.

Rotoworld

I know we all already kinda knew this, but Acee is usually pretty accurate with his predictions. No V-Jax, no Merriman, we have to win.

Casey Wiegmann has been chosen as the Chiefs' starting center over incumbent Rudy Niswanger.

The 37-year-old returned to the Chiefs this offseason after spending two years in Denver. Niswanger has trouble with bigger nose tackles and too often struggles with bad snaps, so it's not a surprise that the Chiefs decided to go with the veteran.

Derrick Johnson has beaten out Demorrio Williams for one of the starting inside linebacker spots for the Chiefs.

The other inside linebacker starting spot also appears to have been decided, as Jovan Belcher has been picked over Corey Mays. Johnson has been a big disappointment in Kansas City but still has a lot of ability. Williams is likely to replace Johnson on passing downs.

Rotoworld

It's just good to see two guys I was rooting for win starting jobs.

Chargers released CB Nathan Vasher.
Bad news for Vasher, who has now been cut by both the Bears and the Chargers this offseason. He couldn't beat out Donald Strickland for the nickel job and it's obvious his skills are on major decline.

Apparently CBSSportsline Fantasy Guru Dave Richard has a MAJOR man-crush on Dexter this year- I don't think any of us can blame him becaue we all do too...check out the love note posts about #22 on his latest blog:

How highly do I think of McCluster? So much that you might think I have an investment in the Chiefs' stadium refurbishment. It's no secret that the Chiefs were hoping to land Darren Sproles from the Chargers this offseason until the Bolts franchised him (the Chargers must have found out). Their Plan B is McCluster, who is a converted running back the team took with an early second-round pick. Clearly the Chiefs have a plan to use a speedy, shifty player in their offense if they were initially chasing Sproles, and McCluster has been spotted lining up as a slot receiver, outside receiver, running back and Wildcat quarterback in practice sessions! How many ways could this guy get you stats this season? Honestly, I'm projecting him low just to be on the safe side -- my initial projection was laughable, but that should tell you just how excited I am about his prospects this year.

Dave's projection:
96 rush yards, rush TD; 536 rec. yards, 3 TDs
Average Draft Position: No. 140 overall (Round 12)

He's not done...guess who he has on his list of breakouts:

Weapons and Weis, that's what Cassel got this offseason. Dwayne Bowe entered training camp with a clean slate, fellow wideout Chris Chambers will have a full offseason with the Chiefs under his belt and the team drafted speedy short-area receiver Dexter McCluster. Tack on offensive mastermind Charlie Weis joining Kansas City and devoting himself to improving Cassel's performances, and you have the pieces in place for a breakout quarterback. The offensive line is an issue for Cassel, no doubt, but we've seen Cassel put up huge stats before when given the resources and the coaching (see his numbers from New England in 2008), so there's nothing but potential here.

Dave's projection: 3,566 pass yards, 21 TDs, 16 INTs; 141 rush yards, rush TD, four fumbles lost
Average Draft Position: No. 133 overall (Round 12)

Percy Harvin collapsed during Thursday's practice and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Coach Brad Childress said that Harvin had an "episode" and not really a "seizure." It was apparently triggered when Harvin looked at the sky on a punt return and is almost certainly related to his migraine woes. Harvin was trembling and partially responsive as medical personnel got him off the field. This is scary stuff as the Vikings held a team prayer afterward.

Chiefs coach Todd Haley said Monday that Jamaal Charles' role is "still to be determined."

Thomas Jones remains atop the depth chart. Haley referred to Charles as "a developing player" who's "had good days, bad days, and in-between days." "They both understand what’s going on," Haley added. "It’s a good situation." This is the strongest indication yet that Haley is listing Charles behind Jones in an effort to create a "competitive situation," and motivate the young back. Haley did the same with Dwayne Bowe in 2009. Bowe started in Week 1.

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen -- who recently attended Chiefs camp -- rookie FS Eric Berry "looks like the real deal."

Local reports haven't been overwhelming about Berry's first training camp, but his quick rise to the top of the depth chart confirms the No. 5 overall pick is on the fast track. Berry should be a 90-tackle defensive back in his first year.

Thomas Jones has reportedly been prone to mental mistakes during early Chiefs training camp practices.

Jones has "taken grief from coaches during several practices" for errors, which probably could cost him his current first-team listing if they keep up. The most distressing portion of this blurb is that Kestahn Moore -- not Jamaal Charles -- moved up to the first string when Jones was yanked on Monday. Coach Todd Haley's depth-chart mind games haven't stopped in year two.

It still says Chambers is #11 on the Chiefs roster listing on the homepage. Didn't he change his number to 84? Just wanted to check.

Dwayne Bowe worked as the Chiefs' first-team split end at the start of Organized Team Activities Monday.

Bowe was going to be a starter regardless as easily Kansas City's most gifted wide receiver, but this is notable because he ran with the second and third teams throughout last offseason after reporting out of shape. Bowe appears to be physically fit this time around.

@OGOchoCinco Jamarcus Russel, you on twitter, if not its cool ill see you in #minicamp , ooopsss, did I just leak that info #ocnn

then Uncle Scheft chimes in a little later...

@Adam_Schefter No leak, @OGOchoCinco. Your team has called JaMarcus Russell, as have others. But there are no plans for him to be at any minicamps now.

Third-round TE Tony Moeaki "gave the defense fits" at Chiefs minicamp last weekend.

Moeaki immediately steps in as a better pass-catching prospect than incumbents Leonard Pope and Brad Cottam. He won't be worth TE1 consideration this season, but it's worth monitoring how the 6'3/245-pounder is used camp.
