Well, here's a bit of a crazy trade idea to get Rip Hamilton to the Clippers...

Clippers get:  Rip Hamilton + Jordan Hill + DaJuan Summers

Rockets get:  Chris Kaman + Craig Smith + Ryan Gomes + Clippers 2nd Rd. Pick

Kings get:  Yao Ming + Courtney Lee

Pistons get:  Samuel Dalembert + Rasual Butler

Why Clippers?  I believe that we desperately need more wing scoring, and Rip would provide that.  Aminu is developing into a good 6th man off of the bench, but Gomes' 3PPG isn't cutting it in the starting line-up.  If the Rockets get Kaman though, we get to dump Gomes to them.  Clips also get another young, productive big off of the bench, with Jordan Hill.

Why Rockets?  Obviously without Yao, they need a big, and replacing Yao with Allstar Chris Kaman would be really good for them.  They're on a good run right now, and I'm almost certain that they'll make the playoffs this season (especially if they added Kaman).  They give up Yao + a couple of young prospects.  Jordan Hill's production would be replaced by Craig Smith.

Why Kings?  They're obviously going nowhere this season.  They can dump Dalembert for Yao to save some money (half of Yao's contract will be paid by insurance this season), plus add a young, productive wing with Courtney Lee.  If Yao comes back healthy, then they'll have his rights, and probably keep him for a bargain.

Why Pistons?  The Pistons are starting Tracy McGrady and Ben Gordon, over Rip Hamilton, but Ben Wallace is their starting Center.  They really need a big man.  I think that Dalembert can help fill that void, and if not, he's an expiring contract, so they can look elsewhere next summer with $12.5 that would've been spent on Rip next season.  Rasual Butler will be a cheaper option off the bench, and is also an expiring contract.

New Line-up:

Jordan / Hill / Collins

Griffin / Diogu / Cook

Hamilton / Aminu / Summers

Gordon / Foye

Baron / Bledsoe / Warren

and the Pistons have shown interest in Kaman.  I wonder if the Bobcats would be willing to part with Stephen Jackson or Gerald Wallace to get Hamilton, and in turn we can take on Matt Carroll's crappy contract.

I'm sure we'd have to wait until Kaman gets healthy again, but I think that would help a lot of our scoring woes.  The Bobcats are underachieving this year, so I think they're looking to make a change.  Think they'd go for it?

First off, I'm a Clippers fan, but I come in peace!  I know that a lot of you are looking for a starting point guard, and I was wondering if any of you were interested in Baron Davis?  Also, how attached are you to Danny Granger?  I love Granger's game, and was disappointed when we selected YAROSLAV KOROLEV instead of him.  Anyway, what are your opinions on this trade...

I am getting pretty close to being DONE with the Baron Davis era, and the way that the roster currently stands irritates the hell out of me.  Before his suspension, Gilbert Arenas was playing Allstar basketball, and I think he will continue to do so next season.  Washington made it clear that they want to start over (for the John Wall era) when they traded Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and Antawn Jamison.  Here's my trade idea...

Wizards get:  Eddy Curry

Knicks get:  Baron Davis

Clippers get:  Gilbert Arenas and Wilson Chandler

Arenas is better than Baron at this point, but he is paid A LOT more than Baron.  The latest news has the Knicks shopping Wilson Chandler.  With Chandler, we'd get another solid SF (which we need) to add to the roster.

I really like the players that we drafted, and all of the latest talk is about a "youth movement" and the fact that 75% of our team is 21 and younger makes me realize that we are going through a "youth movement."  Quite frankly, I'm tired of the "youth movement," as it never seems to work out.  When the hell is one of these "youth movements" going to pan out???

If they swing and miss, the summer is not a failure - they'll just need to find another way to get better and there are all sorts of avenues available even in this very competitive market. The Cap Space will still be there should James spurn it. It will still be valuable. The team has had numerous opportunities to acquire valuable players with that space in recent weeks, but have chosen to wait until the FA process plays itself out. Same with trades - I can tell you that teams around the league have recently tried to acquire each and every player on the Clipper roster from the most senior to the most junior. Those talks are on hold but could be re-visited. Be patient a little while longer as the pieces to the puzzle move into place.

Could that mean that they'll try to acquire Igoudala or Deng?

Getting Lebron is probably still a just a dream, so why not take advantage of other teams, and let them duke it out?  We should probably try for Lebron first, but these options might go away fast...

Chicago wants to get rid of Deng?  Miami wants to get rid of Beasley?

If we get both, that would fill out the team nicely.  Maybe the rights to Warren for Deng, and future rights to swap 2nd round picks for Beasley?

Arenas + Blatche for Baron + Kaman?

I'd really have to think about that one!

I really think Arenas is better than Baron (when healthy), but he's expensive as hell.. and I think Blatche is going to be better than Kaman (he really turned it on toward the end of the season this year).. This deal would also give us $3.3 million more in cap space, if we did it now.

Doubt that Washington does the deal with John Wall in place (but perhaps they'd rather have Baron's 3 years/$42 million, as opposed to Arenas' 4 years/$80 million?)

Anybody know when the schedule for the summer league comes out?  I'm eager to see it, and I need to plan my trip out there.  I have been going for like the past 5 years, but I always forget when the schedule comes out LOL.  I wanna say that it's like 3-4 weeks before the summer league starts, but I'm not entirely sure.  If anyone knows anything, please let me know.  Thanks!
