Josh Vitters or Kevin Kouzmanoff
The Padres and Cubs are said to be looking for a third team to get involved in their Peavy talks b/c the Cubs lack farm pitching. With the lack of third base options here and on the farm, Should Texas become that third team and try to get Josh Vitters from the Cubs or Kouzmanoff from the Padres? What pitcher or pitchers would we have to give up and What other kinds of prospects could we receive?
Francisco Liriano
I was reading on SI a story by Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus and he had a list of 5 radical moves that would give the offseason some sizzle. He proposes a trade of Liriano to the Rangers for Blalock, Andrus, Salty, and Omar Poveda. I think that I would jump all over that trade. This trade allows us to keep Main, Holland and Feliz..

Nelson Cruz
I know that this is one of the more talked about subjects on LSB but I believe that the Nellie that we have seen this season is the real Nelson Cruz. He has seldomly looked absolutely foolish on the breaking ball away that plagued him the last few times he was up with the Rangers. He is using all of the field and using it with power. He is a good right fielder with a very strong arm. I would just assume see him in right field next year with Murphy and Boggs/Byrd in left. I know that this is affected by the Milton Bradley situation, which is to risky for a multi-year deal. I know that he has shown nothing in the past to warrant this consideration but if he has just figured it out at the plate, Isn't that a bat that you want in the lineup. I just don't want there to be all of the bitching going on that will come if he leaves and has a year that he is capable of elsewhere. I believe that we should not let him just walk this offseason or trade him for nothing, I think his value is higher to us than what a trade may bring. A lineup of Hamilton, Cruz, and Davis at 3,4,5 would crush baseballs and score tons of runs. This is assuming that Cruz hits, which I believe he will. We need a righty to break up Hamilton and Davis and what are our other options to hit 4th without Milton. I say bring Nellie back, What is the opinion of the LSB readers.
Chris Davis
Third base seems to be the weakest position in our farm system and I don't think that the expense of a free agent third baseman is worth it. I do not really know what type of third baseman that Chris Davis was but after seeing him play very good first base defense, Could he ever move back over there if and when Smoak, if he signs, would be ready to take over. If Smoak has GG potential at first then he should likely play first and that would likely leave Davis at DH, and I just think it would seem like a good idea to have him at least work on third again. Could anyone tell me the kind of 3rd baseman that Davis was.
