Texas Lawmakers Display Ignorance of College FB Economics

Apparently, a couple dozen Texans think UH belongs at the Big XII-8+6 table . . . which is about as friendly of a table as the one headed by Archie Bunker. They also seem to overestimate the relevance of a certain university and its ability to turn on television sets. This collective brain trust first erred in submitting their plea to the conference office instead of DeLoss Dodds. They further erred by making a plea that TCU also be given a place at the table. The problem is that TCU's game attendance has already been frowned upon, yet it bests UH's attendance by almost 13,000 seats per game. Houston, the 4th largest American city, can only sell 25,242 tickets per game, yet we are supposed to believe there is a massive following that will eagerly beat down the gates with Big XII-8+6 admission?

And the Legal Volley Continues

Leach's attorneys are accusing the University of withholding evidence/requested documents which apparently support the notion of a master "Terminate Leach" plan.

Former RB Coach Seth Littrell Promoted at Arizona

1 Seth Littrell, former Tech RB coach who split during the great contract debacle, has been promoted to offensive co-coordinator after Sonny Dykes departure. I really liked Seth and hated to see him leave, but his promotion adds another branch to the Leach coaching tree.

New DL Coach from Recruiting Heaven

According to, Coach Tuberville is about to complete his staff by hiring Robert Prunty.  RRS is also reporting a teaser about a new DL coach being targeted, so putting 2 and 2...

Former TTU QB Graham Harrell accepts Graduate Assistant position at Big 12 program?

Hmmm . . . at what other program would Harrell's experience be relevant? I think we all know that answer.

Update on Ruffin

According to the link, Ruffin declined an earlier trip to interview for the ECU head coach position because wasn't a front runner. As the leading candidates fall to the wayside, Ruffin's name is moving back to the top. Declining the initial interview seems out-of-character for Ruffin considering how he openly lobbied for the Tech job.

Player Reactions from First Team Meeting

The team had their initial meeting with the new staff, and things are definitely changing. It's a good thing Brandon Carter is a senior, because I don't think his theatrics would cut it in the new system.

Boone and McRoy Bros. Remain Committed

Kadron Boone and the McRoy brothers remain "cautiously committed" to Tech. Tuberville and Brown undoubtedly have some work to do to shore up their concerns, but our recruiting class hasn't yet imploded.

Wes Welker: A Beacon of Hope for Raider Nation

Because we all need a little something to make us all smile after the past couple of weeks, here is Mr. Reliable showing us that things are never as bad as they may first appear.

Carter and Wall Invited to NFL Combine

Congrats and best of luck to Brandon Carter and Jamar Wall as they represent TTU at the NFL Combine. See the link for the full list of Big XII invitees, to which our non-rivals in Sheepville contributed nada. (CORRECTED)

Leach's Third Amended Filing

I am still in the process of reading the complete document, but the filing is narrowing blame on Hance. I won't say he defends Myers and Bailey, but Leach does make it clear they were being "meddled" with and operating as Hance's puppets.

FWST Editorial on Craig James Political Future

Interesting read to see where James is getting his support as well as what figures need their ethical compass tweaked.

Possible Upside to Recruiting

There has been much discussion regarding the coaching change's impact upon our recruiting class; however, most of the conversations have ranged from neutral to doomsday.  I am in the camp that...
