Our OLBs Got Me Pumped
Holy $hit balls our OLBs are awesome!! Is there anyone else out there that isn't completely blown away by the talent that we have at the position?!! Cam, Justin, and Andy to go with my man Tamba...damn ya'll, for real. I'm totally stoked. Week point of our D is ILB but I think we'll hold with Kelly Gregg clogging the middle. I guess the pass coverage part of the ILBs concerns me. Back to my point though, DAMN!! We have 4 of the best young talents in the NFL at the OLB spot. But what does that mean?? All these guys NEED playing time. But how should we divide that up?
First off, I was one of Tamba's biggest doubters when we switched to the 3-4. I thought he was too slow, too raw, and had a bad coordinator. The latter of which is true because Clancy sucks. But...he STILL played very well his first and only year under him. But speed, no problem. Proved me wrong. Raw, picked it up quick. Even in pass coverage and blocking off the outside run he did fine. Then Romeo comes in and knocks us all out of our socks!!! Romey's the man!! But what about this year, so much talent behind him. Shouldn't we save some of that gas in his tank and pull him on certain plays? That's the big question. Am I saying that Tamba WANTS a breather from time to time. We all know that man doesn't want to come out. But we have other options now so why not?
Cam is the best option to back him up in my opinion. He's got a year of watching under his belt. He knows WHAT to do, let's just see if he can execute. From what I've seen thus far that's a big check. So when do we send him in. First down? Add him as more of a lineman on passing downs with Tamba still in there next to him. Ooooo, scary.
Now, the other side's a little more controversial. I like Andy Studebaker, I really do. But Justin Houston has so much more talent. I think Andy is a leader though, which, to me, gives him the edge. I believe his leadership is important. I think his pass coverage skills are phenomenal for being a d-lineman in college and having no experience at it. Do you guys remember when Denver used to kill us with that damn bootleg when Shannahan was there. They used to destroy us with that and I don't see that happening with Andy holding that back side. When do we play him? Passing downs and rushing downs. I see him being Justin's Thomas Jones like Thomas is to Jamaal. Just in there to keep my new favorite player's legs fresh. (I just bought a #50 jersey)
So Justin, thank you sooooo much for smoking that bud before the combine. Thank you thank you, a million time THANK YOU!! You are going to be the Wallace Gillberry of 2011. You are going to play part time and make a huge impact. You do need to learn to not over-run these NFL QBs because you would have had at least 5 sacks against the Ravens but I digress...Justin has the talent, has the skills, has the awareness that you don't find every day in a rookie. No one in the NFL is gonna see him coming either. He's Romeo's new toy. I'd bet we see some sneaky stuff coming from Justin. I'm really stoked for this beast of a man.
Well, that's all I got. I've only posted 2 other post in the 3 years I've been reading AP. I'm not gonna say what every other newb on here says like "take it easy on me" or "this is only my first post". Be mean, you ain't gonna hurt my feelings. Oh, and I absolutely love this site and I'm so grateful for the opinions that are dished out on a daily basis. I fiend for AP. Literally!! As a recovering pain killer addict I know for a fact that I'm hooked on this site. So, representing Manhattan, KS, this is CalCapone, PEACE!!
P.S. If there is anyone that lives in MHK and wants to meet at a bar for the game and talk Chiefs before, during, and after, I'd love that. I'm so tired of sitting next to "Chiefs fans" that aren't hardcore fans and trying to have Chiefs convos with them. Especially now that they're playing well. The fair weather fans are coming out of the wood work. Just leave your email in the comments and I'll get in touch.

Haley's Talent Evaluation Has Me Concerned
Is anyone else?? I am not sure if this has been talked about, but the two stars of our extremely gratifying win over the Broncos were almost an after thought at one point in the mind of our head coach. All season long Derrick Johnson has backed up Corey Mays and Demarrio Williams. Jamal Charles was deactivated one week. He was even supposed to share time with Kolby Smith once he was healthy. Not to mention the Bernard Pollard for Mike Brown mistake. I'm very concerned that this coach is bad news. Very bad news in my opinion. And, I hate to say it, but with Herm Edwards as coach I was confident in his ability to evaluate talent. He just sucked at EVERYTHING else.
Nothing to Lose or Everything to Lose
It seems to me that every year when a team is already mathematically eliminated from playoff contention there are always those teams that show signs of life in the last five or six games of the year. Last year the 49er's were one team that stepped up at the end of the year and that progress shinned through at the beginning of this year. Last year we saw three teams tank their season in the final six weeks. The Bills, the Jets, and, HILARIOUSLY, the Broncos.
I am not saying that the Chiefs are done and their playoff hopes are gone. (Even though I think they are) I would like to discuss some of the top teams that will probably tank and why, and discuss some of the bottom teams and what they may have to do to make it a positive season. I believe that in the end it's all about having nothing to lose or having everything to lose.

What Are the Problems With Our Team??? I Have an Anwer
The problems to me are clear. It really boils down to a couple of different things. I like being critical and I'm quick to call for someone's head. It does not matter if you only had one spoof, I'll do it. I am so fast to turn my back on people. This time, however, I'm still complaining about the same things other than Matt Cassel. No Matt is playing well and I'm impressed.
Thanks for the feedback
Just a couple of things. I understand the offensive line situation. As a coach and as a QB you should know by now that you're going to have quick pressure and they need to do something about it. And that falls directly on the coach and the QB. I don't know if they are trying to do something about that or not. However it would appear that they aren't.
I'm very happy to see that no one disagrees with me about Brown.
I know being critical of Haley is tough for anyone that was a Chiefs fan when he was hired, especially after going through 3 years with a guy that is completely opposite, but I am going to be until I start to see results. And by results I mean certain players that had practically no chance of being on the radar to 'wait, this guy's making some plays'.
Another opinion of mine about Haley, the man bit off more than he can chew. How many times have we seen delay of game penalties?? He isn't getting the plays in quick enough. I'm pretty sure that this is because he has taken on two jobs. (OC & HC) Let me know what you guys think about that.
Why I am more upset with this loss than all the rest.
This Sunday's close game against Dallas is probably viewed by some to be a significant improvement over the previous weeks. I'm going to try to put my rage into words and tell you why IT'S NOT! Right now I can think of about three things that are really burning at my soul. Just to let everyone know, I've never posted anything on here and every time I've posted a comment it has been viewed as overcritical. This is probably going to be more of the same but maybe I can get some of you to agree with what I'm saying. Don't get me wrong, I'm obsessed with KC football.
