Alex Legion released from LOI
Thought Bruins Nation would like to know that Alex Legion has been released from his Letter of Intent to Michigan. He is rumored to still be visiting on April 28th, but Fox Sports is reporting that his list is down to UCLA, UConn, Kansas and Kentucky.
From the Michigan Rivals site:
Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy's Alex Legion is no longer a Michigan signee. U-M head coach John Beilein released Rivals.com's No. 45 senior from his letter of intent today but indicated he'd still continue to recruit him.
"We have had several discussions with Alex and his family and they have expressed an interest in opening his recruitment," said Beilein. "We understand his situation and encouraged him to do so, giving Alex his unconditional release. We will continue to have dialogue with Alex and his family throughout this process.
"With his release, he is now a prospect again and due to NCAA compliance issues we can have no further comment on the situation."
Perhaps this is mystery recruit that has been discussed as Legion was considering UCLA before and it was thought that Legion would ask out of his LOI after Amaker was fired, regardless of who the new hire was.
As a Wolverine first, but Bruin second, I do not want Legion anywhere near either program. Legion complained about not getting the ball enough in high school at Country Day, same school as Chris Webber and Shane Battier, so he transfered to Oak Hill Academy. Legion initially committed to Michigan as a junior, only to de-commit. Then he re-committed and eventually signed with Michigan. This is now the second time he has decommitted. He is too much trouble and I think would only be a negative influence and end up causing problems.
