Mile High Report DOOM out 4 Months with a Torn Pectoral Muscle

Schefter just broke the news on twitter-" Filed to ESPN: Denver LB Elvis Dumervil suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Wednesday's practice that will sideline him indefinintely. For now it sounds like Denver's Elvis Dumervil will miss at least four months, but it could well be the season. Crushing blow for Broncos."

This is undoubtedly a monster blow to our team. I guess if there is a bright side to this is that if her IS out only 4 months, then he might be available to a playoff run. But I assume he will need more time to recover so I am preparing for a full season with Doom out. Lets hope Moss has been as impressive as reported and hopefully Ayers steps up. I have fully expected the Defense to carry the team this year and i think if our D-line takes up blockers, our LB can get the job done. Get well DOOM! Go Broncos!!!!!

Mile High Report Eddie Royal's Contest Winner!

So as many of you guys know, Eddie Royal had a contest running on Facebook with the winner with the most "Likes" on their comment receiving 2 Broncos tickets.  After almost a week of work, much help from many friends and people having met on facebook, and 314 "Likes" later, I have won the contest! From Eddie "Blake Condon is the winner but i cant tell yall enough how awesome u were w the contest..i def got the best fans out there"

Our own jonmark93 placed strongly in the contest as well and even got Eddie to post a sick video he created. I want to thank everybody here who liked my comment and definitely kentuckybronco for campaigning strongly for people to like my comment. It looks like i will go to the Game in San Diego since I am in LA. I'll be sure to post a lot of pictures!

Mile High Report A Little Help

Hey guys, been a while since i made a post. I usually just lurk during the Offseason. I am a fan of Eddie Royal on Facebook and he has run a contest. The contest is to make a comment on his facebook profile and get as many "likes" on your comment, the most likes wins 2 tickets to any game! I am currently in the lead but people are right behind me. It would help a lot if those with a facebook would "like" my status! All you need to do is go to http://www.facebook.com/royal19?ref=ts#!/photo.php?pid=4466684&id=75419815786  Then, "like" Eddie's profile, then "like" my comment. I made the very first comment so you may need to hit "previous comments" a couple times to get to it. Only takes a few secs. Thanks.

So i thought i would put out some projection for some players this upcoming year.

RB

Moreno- I see him improving much in his 2nd year. I see something special in him, not sure why, but i believe he has potential to turn into a top 5 or so RB. I fully expect him to crack a 100 yard game (Not just one) and achieve over 1000 yards. Great agility, if you remember that run he had against the Giants, where he broke like 3 tacklers, it shows you something.

Buckhalter- He had a GREAT ypc last year if i remember and i love him as a second option to Moreno. He can pick up the first down when needed to and it seems that he came though with some nice gains last year. He will cut into Moreno carries of course which prevents Moreno from being a featured back, which i think may throw off Moreno's rhythm a bit, but it allows for rest and the NFL is really turning into a committee system so i think it is for the best.

Arrington- I am excited for him. It shows something that we brought him here 2 years in a row. MCD must feel that he will be an asset to the team. I think that his biggest asset may be if he returns kicks and punts in which will let Eddie focus on WR. I like him as a speedy 3rd down back. Nice pickup.

WR

Royal- Someone has to pick up those 100+ catches from marsh. I expect Royal to pick up a lot of them. He is going back to the slot it seems which is the best place for him. I expect him to rack up around 60 balls, a serious improvement from last year. I think he may even get close to his rookie #'s only if the OL proves healthy.

Gaffney- He is an unknown for me. Kind of wierd to say b/c he may end up being our #1 wr. He quietly racked up 54 catches last year and if he is the #1 target, that could improve dramatically. I think he may actually benefit of the o line performance decreases b/c we all know how fond Orton is of short passes as the pressure packs on him. I think 90 catches is not unrealistic

Thomas- Tremendous deep play threat. Would love for us to bomb out a few 40 yarders to him down the sideline and see what he can do. I think it may take him a year to adjust to NFL play but i love his potential.

Mile High Report Pics of me with Broncos rookies and others at fan event

So i went to an NFL Rookie event in Los Angeles today and i was fortunate enough to meet Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker. I asked Thomas how his foot was feeling and he said "Its kool." Decker was really kool and a nice guy. It was almost kinda surreal when i met Thomas b/c he reminded me of when i met Marsh in both his physical appearance and his shyish attitude. He was really nice as he signed plenty of autographs, but barely said a word. Also, he was constantly holding a football in his hands as he was walking around. My guess is that it was just something for his hands to do. As for Tebow, he wasn't at the event but he was in LA for the weekend at other events i have heard from many people that he was a "Douche" b/c he woudnt sign autographs. Apparently he was blowing people off when asked for autographs and instead gave people a fist bump. But a few people told me he was very nice b/c he took a picture with them which im told he was happy to do. I dont know if this has something to do with him charging $160 to get his auto in march, but i hope he will start to sign autographs. Maybe he is just doing what his advisers tell him to do. It will be interesting to follow, so if you meet tebow, tell us what he says and if he signs.  On to the pics!

Mile High Report Our Preseason Schedule Realeased

week 1:Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals

2: Detroit Lions at Denver Broncos

3: Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos ( National T.V on Fox! 8 p.m. ET)

4:Denver Broncos at Minnesota Vikings

I like this matchup during week 3. Should show alot about our O and D. Cant wait for it.

The Regular season schedule will be released on April 13th during a 1 hour show on nfl network according to pft.com

It marks the 13th consecutive year the team has opened its preseason on the road, extending the club record

According to Josina Anderson's twitter, his PR firm said, "Brandon Marshall is continuing to work out and progress this offseason, and is hopeful that wherever he lands that it will be the right place. Additionally, if it were true that a contract extension commensurate with Marshall's skills was actually offered, there would be no question as to what team Marshall would be staying with at this time."--EAG PR Firm I guess that they are implying that maybe we have offered Marsh a contract, however it wasnt equal to what he is thought to be worth.

Mile High Report Report: Broncos sign J.J. Arrington

According to Josina Anderson,

After being released by the Denver Broncos last season, running back J.J. Arrington is now set to return to his former team.

Sources told Fox31’s Josina Anderson Thursday afternoon that Arrington has just signed a one-year contract. The terms of the deal were not disclosed at the time.

Arrington was on his way back to the airport at the time of this report.

Last year Arrington signed a four-year, $10 million deal on Mar. 4, but had just underwent a knee operation a month prior. Thus, Arrington had trouble working into the team’s offseason activities and was eventually cut.

Arrington, 27, was a second-round choice of the Arizona Cardinals in 2005"

I like this move, it brings a speedy guy (4.4 40 Yard Dash) Who can run (6.0 ypc off of 31 carries in 2008), catch out of the backfield (255 yards receiving in 2008) and take pressure off Eddie to return kicks (26 yards per KR in 2008). Its a one year deal, so it cant really hurt.

Mile High Report NFL Rewind?

Hey guys, Hows it all going? So tonight I wont be able to watch the game due to a family dinner and they dont have NFL Network and I wont have access to a computer. It will be the first game I will miss in years. My plan is to somehow watch the entire game after it ended when I get home computer , but Before i know who won. Hah I know it sounds weird. So i went ahead and got NFL rewind the other day but my question is, When do they post up the game video? If its a few hours after the game, that is fine. But if it isnt untill the next day, I wont be able to handle waiting to see who won just so I can watch the game and be surprised. So if NFL rewind waits untill the next day, Do you guys know of any site or stream where the entire game is reposted later today after the game? Thanks!!!!

Baltimore Beat Down Broncos fan kicked out for Standing

Hey guys. Good win today. You deserved it. A Broncos fan at MileHighReport went to the game and was kicked out for standing. Now im not here to attack u guys and in fact the ravens fans were saying that the broncos fans standing were not a problen, the security were the problem. My question is what is the deal with standing at the stadium? Here is his post......

What happened... my friends and I were standing (with our hands in our pockets) in Section 113 Row 1 (end zone behind FG posts) while the Broncos were on D and were told by the Ravens staff to sit down.  Jon Cline (VP of Ravens security) told us we're "outta here" if we stand up again.

He said we could only stand up on a "majority rules" basis and said it was grey.  He said we could only stand up on "things like 3rd downs or celebrating a touchdown".  Well we were eventually tossed midway through the 2nd quarter for standing with our hands in our pockets (well aware we had many eyes on us and trying to be model fans AND yell for the Broncs) while the Broncos were on 3rd down.

Video evidence.

Again i just want to know the whole standing deal and what is and isnt allowed.

Mile High Report Who to follow on twitter

Ok so as this twitter thing came about a little while back, i wasnt very fond of the idea. I didnt really care what people said what they were eating for breakfest or how there nap was. But i soon realized that twitter is much more then that. It is a place that it seems every major news outler or reporter has one. And best of all, every reporter and news outlet posts the inside or breaking news information right on there twitter page. And even more best of all, it is usually the first place to get it. You dont have to scound every news page and keep refreshing to get new information. All you have to do is refresh one single twitter page and you will have all you need.

For example, yesterday during the cuts, i was able to see all the trades and realeases as soon as they happened as several news places "Tweeted" them. This is the case with almost every major and minor event you can think of. Also you are able to "Follow" people who have insde sources with the broncos. But who do you follow?....Thats where i come in.

The jury has declared Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall not guilty of misdemeanor battery charge.

http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2009/08/14/marshall-not-guilty/

So now Brandon Marshall is a Broncos receiver, free and clear. And according to an NFL source: Marshall’s hip is healthy. He is expected to return to the practice field this week. The Broncos’ next practice, the first after their preseason game tonight at San Francisco, is Sunday.

Can you say... Thank god

Mile High Report Josh: "It doesnt really matter who starts"

I was listening to the Josh Mcd Interview today after practice and i picked up on an interesting comment he made about the RB situation. When asked who would start at RB, Josh replied

"We have good depth. And that is very important. I learned about that the hard way last year and so did this team. we cant have enough good ones.It doesnt really matter who starts either. There all gonna play and they will play plenty and they will get the ball plenty. But in the end, THERE ALL GONNA GET THE BALL"

This is a semi clear indication that we will plan to use a multiple runing back format. Noy a bad idea at all with our RB corps. I just wanted to share what i heard.

Mile High Report Javis Moss Might Retire!?!

Well, if enough things havent gone wrong already, we have more trouble.

He told Josina Anderson, “I was told Jarvis went to (Josh) McDaniels and met one on one with the coach and said he does not want to do this anymore.  He feels he might be done with football and he’s thinking about retirement.”

This information has to come to a blow to an organization which drafted Moss with its 17th overall pick in the 2007 draft.

Upon learning this information, Fox 31 Sports attended practice Saturday and confirmed Moss was not there.

Broncos’ General Manager Brian Xanders was approached to respond to the information but told Fox 31 Sports, “no comment.”

Another source, who has since spoken to Moss on the phone, told Anderson that after their conversation they are now concerned for Moss’ overall well being.  The source said, “He told me he would talk to me in two hours.  That this is his life and he’s just got to figure things out.”

Moss participated in the team’s practices on Friday.  After the morning session Moss said, “It’s a brand new start for me.  I’m going to continue to work hard, pray, and everything will take care of itself.”

The source also told Anderson that it’s their thought Moss is having a hard time adapting to his new role in the new defensive scheme.  He plays a combination of linebacker and defensive end in the 3-4 defense.

In two seasons with the Broncos, Moss has played in 18 games, recording 24 tackles and 3.5 sacks.  His rookie season was cut short after suffering a broken shin.

This shoud not upset us that much because we are not losing a "Good" player. But it should upset us due to the fact that we are sooo unstable on the front 7, that players that we considered might be able to start might actually wont even play in the NFL ever again!

Mile High Report Broncos Tickets!?

Hey guys,

As you might know, the single game tickets go on sale on ticketmaster this saturday at 11:00 AM MST. I was hoping to buy some tickets and i was wondering if anyone has done this before and have any tips. I heard that the tickets on ticketmaster sell out in minutes! Is there any advice that you can offer? Also, is anyone else going to buy them? If so, what game? I dont even know what game i am going to try to buy. Because of school and work, my options are limited. Basically the only game that i can go for sure is the game at home against the raiders. What sucks about that besides the raiders (haha) is that i know the hotel in which the opposing teams play and was hoping to score an autograph. But as we all know, there is an extremely limited number of great players on the raiders. Ok only 1 and that is Namdi. I was able to get a Marshawn lynch Autograph last year. I was also thinking of the thanksgiving game against the Giants or the Monday nighter against the steelers. Thanks!

Mile High Report To the Browns?

The rumor mill continues to churn regarding potential destinations for Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall.

Last night, we heard that the Ravens might be interested.  Tonight, we’re hearing rumblings of Brandon possibly being traded to the Browns.

The package would include, per the rumor, Browns kick returner/receiver Josh Cribbs and one or more draft picks.

Such a move also would likely put Braylon Edwards in play for a trade elsewhere.

Maybe, in the end, to Baltimore?

FROM PROFOOTBALLTALK.com

i say throw in braylon and we have a deal!
