Belt on his way from Fresno to Miami
First baseman/outfielder Brandon Belt is flying from Fresno to Miami today and probably will be activated for tonight's game, The Chronicle has learned.
It was not immediately clear if Carlos Beltran is going on the disabled list.
The Giants were hoping to wait until later today to see how Beltran's hand felt before making that decision. However, logistics are a problem.

Dirty to DL ...Zito activated
Perhaps Jonathan Sanchez’s problems aren’t all in his head. Or perhaps the Giants found a creative way to give Sanchez a two-week break without compromising their roster.
In a surprising move, the Giants just placed Sanchez on the 15-day disabled list with left biceps tendinitis. Barry Zito, who will start Game 2 of a doubleheader Tuesday at Wrigley Field, was activated from the DL and will take Sanchez’s place on the roster.
Just another reason to hate the Dodgers (Part 2) Duds after Uribe
By Ken Gurnick / MLB.com | 11/28/10 5:50 PM EST
LOS ANGELES -- Continuing their aggressive offseason renovation, the Dodgers now are targeting free-agent infielder Juan Uribe, whose clutch production helped the division-rival Giants win the World Series.
The addition of Uribe not only would weaken San Francisco but provide the Dodgers with a needed veteran power bat for the middle of the lineup. He most likely would become the starting second baseman and trigger the non-tendering of Ryan Theriot, who was acquired from the Cubs with Ted Lilly and had a solid August but tailed off in September

Draft software
I'm looking for baseball draft software that I can use on a Mac. Something like Diamond Draft, or Roto Lab.
Software that allows the user to update the leagues owners rosters during the draft, while the software updates the budgets, available players, and the player values as players are drafted.
Thanks

Duanel Jones and Wagner Mateo
According to Kiley McDaniel of Baseball Prospectus, the San Francisco Giants agreed to terms with Dominican 3B Duanel Jones. Numbers not completely confirmed but multiple sources have indicated its $1.3 million.
Does anyone know anything about Duanel Jones? Can't find any info on the net.
Have the Giants signed Wagner Mateo? Last month it was rumored that the Giants and Mateo had agreed to a contract but haven't heard anything since
Thanks
OT: Established Bay Area fantasy league needs 2 owners
Hello,
I run a NL league in the San Francisco Bay Area. The league has been around for at least the past 20 years.
We are a bunch of easy going owners who love baseball.
The league has 12 owners:
-Auction style
-Standard 5 x 5 league
-Keeper league
-Can draft minor league players
-Live in person draft (March 28th)
-League dues are 30 per owner. $17.50 of the 30 dollars goes into a pot for the league's top 3 winners, and the other 12.50 dollars pays for the stat service (CBS Sportsline).
What we want from you:
You don't have to be a fantasy genius, but someone who follows baseball, and is willing to learn.
Be an active owner. The worst thing that can happen to a league is an owner who doesn't follow his team. i.e. 5 dl's players, and hasn't made a move since the draft.

Henry Schulman and Buster Olney on Manny to the Giants
Henry Schulman carefully summarizes the Giants' interest in Manny Ramirez to kick off the day's Manny rumors.
1. The Giants and Scott Boras have talked, and it has not been a one-way conversation. In other words, the Giants have some interest in bringing Ramirez to San Francisco. This is not a case of Boras just trying to drum up another suitor to get the Dodgers re-engaged.
2. That said, the Giants......
Also Buster Olney: Rival executives have major doubts about whether San Francisco would ........

Giants Minor Leaguers up for awards
mlb.com
A trio of Giants prospects are competing against each other for a prestigious pitching honor.
Right-handers Tim Alderson and Kyle Nicholson and left-hander Madison Bumgarner are among the six finalists for top starting pitcher in the 2008 MLB.com This Year in Minor League Baseball awards. Also, San Francisco's low-Class A Augusta affiliate is one of five nominees for Team of the Year.
Alderson, 20, finished 13-4 with a 2.79 ERA for the Giants' high-Class A San Jose team. He was named to the in-season and postseason California League All-Star squads.
Bumgarner, 19, was named the South Atlantic League's Pitcher of the Week five times, as he compiled a 15-3 record with a 1.46 ERA for Augusta. He also struck out 164 batters in 141 2/3 innings and was named MiLB.com's Most Spectacular Pitcher. Like Alderson, Bumgarner was also an in-season and postseason All-Star.
Nicholson, 23, went 6-1 with a 1.15 ERA for short-season Salem-Keizer. In 62 2/3 innings, he yielded just 34 hits and walked three while striking out 54. His 0.59 WHIP (walks and hits allowed per inning pitched) looked like a typographical error.
Fan voting ends Friday. To cast votes, visit here.
