"Physically, I felt really good, felt like I was throwing the ball where I wanted to for the most part," he said. "Late, I started to get the ball up a little bit. It was decent, but to throw that many pitches and only get 15 outs, I've got to do a little better than that." -duck

Just one more day. (Photo by J. Meric/Getty Images)

It's Opening Day for every team in baseball besides the Yankees and Red Sox, who played last night, and the Orioles and Rays, who play tomorrow. It's just weird. The good thing about it, though, is that we don't have the pesky day off after Opening Day. That day is my least favorite day of the entire year.

Commentary: Mother's Day mark will tell all for Orioles
This opinion piece posits that May 9 is a bellweather date because of the rough schedule in the first month. Fair point. But then the author stupidly suggests that O's fans will give up if the team is "well under the break even mark". Um, I don't think fans are going to give up when the team has 5 months of baseball left, particularly since the hardest stretch will out of the way. -zk

Next for Hobgood: Delmarva - MASNsports.com
Right-hander Matt Hobgood will get his wish and start the season in the Shorebirds' rotation. It will be his first full-season experience. And he said his fastball is already faster than last year at Bluefield, reaching 92 mph and staying 88 to 90 mph during Spring Training. Can't wait to see him in Salisbury. -duck

Remembering Mike Cuellar

Pretty much every Orioles blog I've read (and I read most of them) began their stories on Mike Cuellar with something along the lines of, "Although I'm too young to have watched him pitch..." We're a young bunch, it seems. So instead of me reciting some stats and wishing aloud that I'd seen him play, instead read these articles that say more about Cuellar than I ever could.

I still wear them) and I, also, uh, laugh at the idea of Miguel Tejada returning to Baltimore. -Stacey
