Brew Hoop The Canada Bucks Big Board 2012

On Steve's latest draft board we were talking a bit about Big boards and I know Dan is going to do one for all of BrewHoop to vote on but I wanted to do my own anyway. Just in case you are not sure what a big board is, it shows how a team would draft in any position provided that the players were picked as they chose them. Due to the inticasies of the lottery selection there are certain spots that the Bucks cannot get but as there may be trades and to preserve the integrity of my board, I will select 1-15.

Huge Disclaimer-Despite the way I talk I am far from an expert in these kind of things. This is based on reading articles, watching tape and personal opinion. I will grant that I have certain biases, likes and dislikes that are most certainly reflected in this list

Brew Hoop Canada Bucks Mock Draft 2012 v2.01

The regular season is over and the pre ping pong ball drop draft order is set. Forgive me for a second while I get on my soap box but the last week of the season reminded me why I hate tanking. To see team overtly lose games to secure better odds to get a higher pick just seems wrong to me but I digress. On with the draft after the jump.

Brew Hoop The CB 2012 Mock Draft 1-14 First Edition

As I mentioned yesterday on one of the threads I would be focusing on the Draft if the Bucks lost and the rest is history as they say.

My picks 1-14 are based on my opinion of players and team need. Positions based on standings prior to Thursday action.

Feel free to tell me what you think.

Brew Hoop Let's Talk Draft-2012 Edition

Even though the Bucks are still fighting hard for their playoff life, I continue to think about the upcoming draft and which players the Bucks might come to select. We have talked about it at various times on some other threads but I thought I would create this one to keep a running chat going. Feel free to post any draft hopes, hypes or no-nos that you wish and feel free to vote on some of the players I've included that may be there when we draft.

Brew Hoop Trade Deadline Thread

As we all know it's less than two weeks until the trade deadline March 15, 2012. Allof us have different ideas what will/should/could happen with the Bucks and around the league in general. It doesn't have to be what you think will happen, just what you would like to see. Anyone who posts a trade that actually occurs will win a valuable prize...........Find out after the jump

Brew Hoop The "I'm Bored" Draft Board

Ok I admit, I am bored of the season. The only thing to look forward to is the development(If Skiles allows it)of Harris, Sanders and Leuer. On one of the posts a few of us got talking about the draft and who we would like to see as a Buck. That got me to researching a few mock drafts and seeing what the consensus was in terms of player ratings.

After the jump I'll list the ten most consistently ranked players with a NBA player comparison(Waltersfootball.com)at the end

Brew Hoop The Unofficial Andrew Bogut Trade Site

Over the last week or so there have been a lot of posts about tanking, re-tooling or whatever you want to call it as most feel this edition of the Milwaukee Bucks is middle-of the-pack as a best case scenario. I have been quite vocal about my feelings that Andrew Bogut should be the first buck to go because of the following reasons:

1. He could fetch the most in a trade due to the position he plays, his defensive abilities, and his contract

2. His game is in decline, small sample size but every advanced stat is down this year with the exception of drb%, ast% and stl%

3. We need more scoring down low, at the moment, he is not providing that.

I realize that everyone doesn't feel the same way that I do(wouldn't be much to discuss if we had the same opinions)but after the jump I have listed all other NBA teams, my thoughts on their interest in Bogut, and what players on their respective rosters that I might be interested in. This is all predicated on a 2 team trade, there may be other possibilities adding more teams into the mix, but that's impossible to explore.

Here goes:

Brew Hoop Larry Sanders-bust?

I've noticed a few posts lately stating that Sanders was a)a bad draft pick or b0a bust. This got me wondering how the 15 players taken after larry have fared in their short careers so far and which ones might have been a smarter pick. Yes it's too early to tell and the lock-out did no developing players any favours but just for fun we'll look at 15 through 30 and compare.

Brew Hoop Predictions, prognostications, premonitions and prophesies

Here's your chance to show the Nostradamus hidden away in you. Make some predictions of the upcoming Bucks season and at the end of the season we can have a look and see who is the forerunner of foreboding. I'll give my 10 after the jump

Brew Hoop My early picks for amnestied players around the NBA

The new CBA contains an amnesty clause allowing teams to dump one contract, here's how I think teams might use theirs.(If they choose to do so)

Feel free to argue or banter in the usual cheerful BrewHoop manner

Brew Hoop Chris Mullins>Reggie Miller?

Just happened to see that Chris Mullin got elected to the HOF whereas Reggie Miller was left off the ballot completely.  Now I'm not totally convinced either one of these guys is a slam-dunk HOFer but if I were to choose one, it would be Reggie  IMO.  Reggie had the longer career, was far more consistent with his numbers and played in twice the playoff games Chris did(funny thing is half off Mullins PO games came as Reggie's teammate). As well, Reggie was money in the playoffs, just look at his career TS% of over 60%.  Just saying if only one of them got in, I think Reggie was the one.

Brew Hoop What do you think the Bucks will do?

For the past few weeks we at Brew Hoop have argued the pros and cons of various proposals for the Bucks to choose when their name gets called at #10 on Thursday night.  Now it's time to pony up and see your skills as a prognosticator by choosing one of the options listed below.  If there's not one to your liking just post below what you think the Bucks will do--remember it's not what you want them to do but your prediction of the outcome.

Poll

Brew Hoop The Extremely Premature FA List

Yes it's way too early but with playoff chances dimming and Jacob already posting the draft site, I thought we could look at some possibilities for this years FA crop.  Personally i'd like to see a back-up centre and/or a shooter that could come off the bench.  It's hard to know how much we'll have to spend but I just thought we might have some fun with this.  Here's a list as posted on Hoopsworld, some of the teams listed have changed of course:

Brew Hoop Bigger Jerk? You Decide

After all of the hoop-la regarding LeBron's decision and the aftermath of Dan Gilbert's comments, I thought about it this morning and was trying to decide which of them came across as the bigger jerk.  LeBron for doing what he's done since his season was ended so abruptly.  Or was it Gilbert for his classless knee-jerk reaction to LeBron's decision?  I think Gilbert's tirade may be a bit of a CYA move as the Cavs are likely doomed to failure for the next few years or was it sincere?  I'll let you the bloggers decide, who is the biggest jerk.

Poll
Who do you think was the bigger jerk in their actions leading up to and after "The Decision"

Brew Hoop Fa Class 2011

Does the relative weakness in the FA class of 2011 hurt us in trying to dump expirings this year?  I was hoping that the FA 2010 bidders that come up dry would be all over us to get Gadz and Redd but maybe not so if the pot of gold at the end of the 2010-2011 rainbow is not full of gold.  Would be nice to get some assets for them sooner rather than later.

Brew Hoop One Former Buck

The day before the 2010 draft, you as GM of the Bucks are given the power to sign one former Buck to play this season for you as he was in his prime as a Buck player.  Who do you take?

I picked Sid because of his talent, position need and character.  Thought about Kareem for a bit, twin towers with Bogut would be intriguing as well as Marques much for the same reasons as Sid.
