Brian Huddle's Top Ten Isles' Prospects

not sure if this was posted prior or not, but might serve as a distracting discussion for a while

Re: left vs. right handed centres and forwards: interesting comments from Jagr in NHL.COM...

Re: left vs. right handed centres and forwards: interesting comments from Jagr in NHL.COM interview: "Jagr also felt he would have a greater opportunity to play more minutes, including on the power play, with Philadelphia. He likes the fact that the Flyers' top two centers, Danny Briere and Claude Giroux, are both right-handed and like to play on the left side in power play situations. Jagr is a left-handed winger who prefers to play on his off wing so he can play with his back to the wall. He has 646 career goals, including 181 on the power play. "For me it's an advantage to have centermen like Briere and Giroux (who) have a right-handed shot," Jagr said. "If I were playing in Pittsburgh, where it's (Sidney) Crosby or (Evgeni) Malkin, (both) left-handed, I don't think I would be able to play there. If go to Detroit, (Pavel) Datsyuk and (Henrik) Zetterberg are left-handed. I don't think I would have a chance to play at all.""

For Dabate: 2011 Isles Mock draft picks - rounds 1 through 7

Thought this might be a little fun so here goes. Following a draft philosophy that looks for size, physicality skills and need to fill holes in rebuild, draft players based on articles over the past year and comparison to prospect rated in a similar draft "block" within the ranking system. The link below will lead you to the Central Scouting Rankings for North America. http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospectbrowse.htm

Poll: Should Isles Trade 5th overall pick to Florida, for Big Right D Eric Gudbranson?

The Florida Panthers have reportedly been having trouble signing Eric Gudbranson; however, the Panthers could draft Adam Larrson 3rd overall, rendering Gudbranson trade bait. If the Florida...

History of Isles' Trades: GM by GM

Have been reading a lot on the net about Snow's lack of making the big trade, other than Ryan Smith. This got me thinking. Found an interesting site that lists all trades by each Isles' GMs. While I would hate to see a GM make a trade for the sake of a media splash, Snow demonstrates to be very calculating, and doesn't generally lose trades. A close look shows Snow has been affective at small ball trades, even it terms of prospects and/or draft pick transactions. I dare say, Snow doesn't appear to have hurt the Isles via trade.

The Isles will have a shot at drafting one out of two of Jonathan Huberdeau, Dougie Hamilton and Sean Couturier 5th overall. Garth Snow could also trade down and target one of the other four top...

HF Boards' (I know it's HFB) top 10 undrafted U.S. College Free Agents

Every year there are players signed as free agents who were never drafted by NHL teams, particularly out of the U.S. college and highschool systems. (This trend is likely to be reduced in the future as NHL scouts are beginning to recognize the increased quality of competitive hockey). Could the Isle's be interested?

Top 30 Mock Draft With Player Videos & Stats: Updated Feb 25

For whatever reason, this is the same mock draft as sportscity.com. For those who are prospect watching, videos are included for all top 30 prospects and stats for all North America prospects, but only for some of the European prospects. This site has been doing mock drafts for a few years now. They have had success predicting the early and obvious, some success at identifying who individual teams would pick, and overall their top 30 has been reasonably accurate.
