PPP Caricatures- Part VII Our PPP caricature for tonight's game against Calgary is Blindfolded Tank Driver. I would like to point out that he seems to have lost his blindfold and there is no tank in sight. After PPP Caricatures Part VI I received pictures from three PPP members... great! If you'd like to appear as a caricature, send me a picture or two of yourself (headshots are great, goofy pictures preferred but I'll leave that up to you) and I will add you to the growing list!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED This is a picture of me presenting Mrs. Ann Shepley with the drawing of George Armstrong I did for her. I'm sure by now you're all aware of the backstory, so I won't go through all that, but what transpired today is a great story so I'll tell it. Her son contacted me about the drawing, and once I finished it we arranged for me to meet them. Mrs. Shepley and her son go bowling every Friday, so I went to the bowling alley and surprised her with it. She had no idea who I was or that anything was being done for her. When I told her about seeing her in the Windsor Star article and how her story inspired me to do a drawing, her face lit up. Then I handed her the drawing. I've never shaken someone's hand so many times in succession. It was great seeing her reaction, and after she finished her game of bowling we had lunch together. She had lots of great stories about meeting George Armstrong and we talked a lot about the Leafs. This ranks a close second to getting my drawing signed by Luke Schenn in Leafs' memories. What a great feeling it was to see and meet her, she is an inspiration to all of us Leafs fans.

PPP Caricatures- Part VI Karina sent me a great ref pic of herself. Super funny, maybe a bit scary (like she's going to jump out of the picture and bite you!) and I had a lot of fun caricaturing it! Many thanks to both Karina and Archimedies this week for sending me excellent pictures. If you'd like to appear as a PPP caricature, just send me a picture (preferably a headshot, the funnier the better) of yourself and you could appear next! I've started working on a special project with the caricatures I do, and I will post it once I'm satisfied that I have enough caricatures to make it awesome. So, don't delay, get caricatured today!

PPP Caricatures- Part V It's a Leafs game night, so you know what that means! After a much longer hiatus than I had planned for, PPP Caricatures returns with a little doodle of our friend Archimedies. He sent me a few pictures and this one immediately stood out. The expression is perfect for being caricatured! If you'd like to appear as a PPP caricature, just send me a pic (or two, or three... variety is good!) of yourself, preferably a head shot, and I'll give it a go.

George Armstrong Drawing I finally got around to finishing this drawing for Mrs. Ann Shepley. You may recall the online article in the Windsor Star about her, she is an 86 year-old Leafs fan with a love of George Armstrong. It was a fun drawing to do, it was the first time I'd worked from an old photo and I really enjoyed trying to recreate the old-time feel. GO LEAFS GO! *Special thanks once again to kidkawartha for invaluable guidance and advice, and to somny for posting the link to the Ann Shepley story that got this whole thing started.*

PPP Caricatures- Part IV You may be asking yourself what you're looking at right now. Well, I'll tell you. You are looking upon the face of a dog whose spirit was very nearly crushed by the Leafs' loss to the Canucks. He may be lower on the food chain than most cats, but Wendel Bark's heart is the size of Tie Domi's forehead (figuratively, of course). If the Leafs want to be able to sleep at night I sure hope they go out and get a win, because to cause a pug to make that sort of face should weigh heavily on anyone's conscience. Props go out to kidkawartha for suggesting a Wendel Bark caricature. *If you'd like to see yourself in caricature form, send me a pic of yourself (preferably funny, but any good head shot will do) and I'll see what I can do.*

PPP Caricatures- Part III The Leafs could definitely use a bit of swagger tonight against the Canucks, and who better to bring a bit of that tough nosed attitude than JaredFromLondon? I struggled a bit with this one, his golden locks presented a challenge because blue marker is not the ideal medium to depict something that light. Regardless, I think it gets the message across.

PPP Caricatures Part II The Leafs play the Flames tonight and it's Chemmy's turn to be caricatured. I think the picture I drew this from is hilarious. I imagine it to be the face Chemmy makes while he reads the ridiculous comments of Leafs haters on Toronto S*n articles and then explodes in an angry outburst. While I was drawing it I was a little worried the drawing might come alive and bite off the end of my marker, like a weirdo scene from some science fiction movie. Luckily that didn't happen. Stay tuned for Part III when the Leafs play the Canucks, and if you'd like to appear as a PPP Caricature just shoot me a picture of yourself and I'd be happy to draw you.

PPP Caricatures Part I Here is Part I of a little series I hope to start where I caricature one of our esteemed members before each Leafs game. What better way to kick off the inaugural edition than with our fearless leader PPP? Who will be the next PPP Caricature? It could be you! I have the next few planned out, but if you would like to see yourself in caricature form on a Leafs gameday, just shoot me a pic of yourself (my email address is on my profile page) and I will see what I can do. GO LEAFS GO!

The Monster is finally here! I've been updating the progress on this drawing in the CC's. Overall it was a fun drawing, I struggled on parts and succeeded with others, and as always it was rewarding to complete another drawing. As I alluded to yesterday morning, I would like to dedicate this drawing to a PPP member. When I first decided to draw Jonas Gustavsson it was in the dark depths of last season, when Vesa Toskala was still terrorizing the Toronto crease. To me, Gus symbolized the hope that the Leafs would one day have someone other than the world's worst goalie between the pipes. In this spirit of optimism I chose to draw "The Monster", and for this reason I choose to dedicate this drawing to Karina. For her always cheery FTB's, her funny anecdotes and cute animal pictures, this drawing is for the member that for me (and I believe many others) represents the undying optimism that so many of us feel is a necessary part of surviving as a Leafs fan.

Caption these pictures! Below are some pictures I took at the Leafs/Sens pre-season game on Sept. 21st. I know you guys love playing the caption that pic game- so have at them! For this pic: Grabbo: What a lovely selection of pined apples you have there. Very nice indeed. (Moments after picture was taken) /Grabovski whips a knife out of his waistband and begins madly slashing at everything within reach.

The season hasn't started yet, but Phil Kessel looks great on paper! This one took me about 16 hours to draw. Hoping to get it signed tomorrow at my first game in Toronto... on my birthday. It would certainly make my day. If anyone has any tips on where I can get access to the players at the ACC to try and get it signed before or after the game, please share!

Mikhail Grabovski This drawing was commissioned by PPP'er KidK way back in October last year and I've been a sloth about getting it finished. But, here it is! If anyone would like to purchase a print, just send me a message at G_Beatty_09@hotmail.com. I have Paypal back up and running so no more emailing cheques or cash. As always, you can check out the rest of my portfolio at www.artwanted.com/canadianmaple09. Future drawings will hopefully cover Kessel, Phaneuf, Gustavsson, and Gilmour/Clark.

This is one badass family! Also, love the reaction from Wickenheiser after the hit. Are we sure she isn't a long-lost sister to the Phaneufs?
