Yelawolf on Conan - Representing Tide, "Let's Roll"
Yelawolf made an appearance at the Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, California to perform "Let's Roll" live on late-night talk show Conan. The rapper from Gadsden, Alabama also recruited the services of arguably the best drummer in the game, Travis Barker, for the show alongside his live band.
Who All Is Going To Arky Game
I know or I hear Egan's opens at 7 on gamedays. The wife and I are making our way into town for the Arky game? Anyone else?

TMZ: Jay Barker Says Evans' Ex Possessed By Satan
I saw this on TMZ this morning and thought it was humorous enough to share with the group. Jay doesn't seem to be one to purposely harass people, or even use his religious beliefs to turn children against their father, but who knows?
From TMZ:
Sara Evans' ex-hubby Craig Schelske is on the defensive after the country singer's new man accused him of being possessed by Satan -- claiming it's all part of a smear campaign to turn his own kids against him.
Schelske filed legal docs in Tennessee recently ... asking a court to modify his 2007 child custody agreement with Evans, and it has a lot to do with the country singer's new dude Jay Barker.
In the docs, Schelske claims Barker -- a former NFL player -- has been sending harassing text messages, like: "Satan is controlling your thoughts and actions. You are what Jesus stood against ... The things I have seen with my own mind is a man possessed by Satan ... Away from us Satan!!!"
Schelske also claims in the papers that Evans and Barker have been berating and criticizing him in front of their 3 kids.
If the Big Ten expanded its power and reach and the Big 12 looked shaky, the SEC, college football's other 800-pound gorilla, might make a play for Texas. Texas, one of the nation's most lucrative programs, is the only program within a reasonable distance that would add significant value to the SEC. Since the Texas legislature would ensure that Texas and Texas A&M were a package deal, such a move would eviscerate the Big 12, turning schools such as Kansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State into free agents as well.
Urban Meyer To "Die" For Recruit
Apparently it's God's will for Meyer to coach 5-star DT recruit Sharrif Floyd. There is some back-and-forth about the legitimacy of the story, but if you see Meyer keel over on the sidelines this coming season, remember... It's God's work.
From Deadspin.com:
Sharrif was really confused and put a call into Coach Meyer. When they spoke Coach Meyer told him that he had a ‘dream' the night before, and that Coach Meyer saw himself on the sideline coaching Sharrif. Told him that is was a "message from God that I should come back and coach, as I guess if it's my time to die, I'd rather die on the sidelines coaching you than anywhere else in the world.
"Sharrif talked to us the next day and said Ohio State is great and all, but Coach Meyer said he would DIE for me. That's pretty intense. From that day on Sharrif mainly kept to himself. But that was the turning point in my eyes."
USC Faces Probation In Football, Report Says
It appears the USC football program is about to face the end result of their NCAA investigation -- Probation.
From The LA Times via The NY Times:
The National Collegiate Athletic Association is expected to impose a three-year football probation on the University of Southern California that would include a two-year ban on bowl and television appearances, The Los Angeles Times reported in its Sunday issue.
The university's president, James Zumberge, has received a report from the N.C.A.A. Infractions Committee detailing what sanctions will be imposed as a result of its investigation of the Trojans' football program, the newspaper reported. It attributed the information to a ''reliable source.''
What? No loss of scholarships?

Big Ten May Become Big 14, And The SEC
According to CNNSI's "Truth & Rumors" column, the Big Ten may make a push for 14, maybe even 16 teams if or when they expand. This plan sounds very progressive and possibly needed by this conference to stack up to the strength of the SEC, Big 12 and maybe the PAC 10. My question to the community is this: If the Big Ten pushes this far, will the SEC have to "counter-attack"? If so, which teams would we want to join?
Would Clemson, either FSU or Miami, Louisville, Missouri, Georgia Tech and others be good fits or even interested in a new super-conference?
Alabama Fans Hope To Shut Down State For One Week In January
Man, I would love to be off work too and not use vacation days.
Here Comes Number 13...
Not an official video from the athletic department, but a good one nonetheless. One of the better fan-made vids I've seen in a while.
Florida's Carlos Dunlap Charged With DUI
From the article:
Junior defensive end Carlos Dunlap, 20, was arrested at 3:25 a.m. by Gainesville Police Officer Robert Rogers at the signal light at Southwest Second Avenue and Southwest 34th Street.
According to police, Rogers was dispatched to the area to check out reports of a reckless driver in a Chrysler. Rogers said that when he found the car matching the description, it was stopped although the traffic light was green. Rogers said he watched the light cycle through several times but the car remained stopped.
When Rogers approached the car, he said he saw Rogers alone in the car and apparently asleep while at the wheel.
Mountain West Conference To Expand and Add Boise State, Fresno and Nevada?
"These rumors are everywhere out of the nations capital. There are negotiations between the people for the BCS as well as the Mountain West Conference. If the Mountain West wants to get a guaranteed spot in the BCS they must expand. The expansion would include Boise State, Nevada-Reno and Fresno State. Make it a power twelve team conference."
Going To ATL? What Are Your Plans?
The tickets arrived. The room is booked. The trip to Atlanta will take place next Friday. My question to the community is who all is going? And maybe more importantly, what is everyone doing before the game on Saturday? Last year's Clemson game was a mix for us. We took in some of the GameDay coverage and hit random bars/restaurants around the Dome, which was a pain, considering the number of people in attendance.
Optimally, I would like to keep a low-key approach to the day. Maybe do the GameDay thing for a while, and then find some place where we can sit back, relax, drink a few (or more) beers and enjoy a day of televised games. Any recommendations?

Snuggies: Alabama-Auburn
Saw this over at Gawker.com. The article itself is pretty stupid, but the pictures... Well, we know the dude is not a real Alabama fan.
Corey Smith To Transfer
From TideSports.com: The coach also announced that kicker Corey Smith, who was a freshman last season, has asked for a release to transfer to another school and been granted his release.
So there it is, an 11-1 regular season for Alabama. Depending on the quality of play by Ole Miss once the season begins, it's possible the Tide could run the table during the regular season. On the low side, certainly Virginia Tech and LSU loom very difficult and unpredictable. But in year three, it seems that Saban has everything at Alabama pointing in the right direction.
The NCAA has combined its investigations of two former USC star athletes into a single probe of the Trojans' athletic program, the Los Angeles Times reported.
In separate investigations, the NCAA has been looking into allegations that Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush and NBA lottery pick O.J. Mayo both received improper benefits while at USC.
Gillispie Out At Kentucky
Kentucky will announce at a 4:30 p.m. press conference that it has fired coach Billy Gillispie after two years at the helm, reports SI.com's Seth Davis.
Madin Mohammed, at the tender age of six, is being hailed as the next great soccer talent, drawing comparisons to the French legend Zinedine Zidane. The youngster already boasts an impressive array of skills and is basically untouchable among players his own age. He can even replicate Zidane's signature move.
Greg Reid Saying "Roll Tide" To Friends?
From CNNSI.com's Truth & Rumors page:
Greg Reid wasn't even sure he was going to visit Alabama last Thursday night. He was checking out flights for Tennessee. Nevertheless, Reid ended up going to Alabama the next day, and now it looks like the Crimson Tide is a serious contender. Reid joked with friends and classmates at school on Monday, repeatedly saying "Roll Tide." However, he was very serious when he talked about his impression of Alabama coach Nick Saban. The All-America defensive back from Lowndes said he will make an official visit to Georgia on Friday, even though at least a half-dozen schools - including Miami, Auburn, and Tennessee - are trying to bump the Bulldogs out of the way.
