No love for The Carpenter.
When Clay Guida stepped into the octagon with Nate Diaz at UFC 94, he did so with much fan fare, being known as one of the most energetic and entertaining fighters in the UFC. Three uninspired rounds later, Guida had done just enough to sneak by with a split decision. It was far from impressive, but a win nonetheless. The post fight reaction of his "fans" was very surprising though.
Randy Couture ducking Nog. Really???
I will first start by not beating around the bush. I am an enormous Randy Couture fan and he has been my favorite fighter since i started watching MMA back in 2004 so you will notice a little biasness in this article. But one particular topic i am very passionate about, that I have heard so much about over the last year or so is that Randy Couture is ducking Minotauro. I feel If you look at the facts that just isnt true.
Nate The Great makes a statement
<!-- TOKEN_1235624781471_TOKEN -->After this past Saturdays demolition of Chael Sonnen at UFC 95, Demian Maia is almost unanimously being considered the Number one contender for Anderson Silva's 185 pound title. Though Silva is going to be in the main event of UFC 97 versus Thales Leites, most are seemingly looking at Leites as merely a stepping stone for Silva to move on to what many consider stiffer competition such as Maia. Though Maia was incredibly impressive this past Saturday, I was just as impressed with a man who has had his chance and was subsequently defeated by Silva rather viciously. Nate Marquardt took what was looking like a dominant, and convincing unanimous decision against an incredibly dangerous and always game Wilson Gouveia, and turned it into a highlight reel T.K.O. in the 3rd round. It was for this very reason people should not sleep on Nate the Great.
